Great location & nice room.

The property is so close to downtown Carmel. Everything is walkable. It is an older place that has been upgraded. People are very nice.

Great location , near downtown Carmel, walkable distance to everything. The suite turned out to be like a 2 bd, turned out great for our family with a 15 months old. Very quite room. All was great!

Great location and clean

As a Woman of Color, I did not feel welcomed or valued as a guest in this establishment. 1. I was unable to enter my room for 30 min after the 3 PM check-in time because the room was not ready due to maintenance making repairs to the bathroom. 2. After I was allowed access to my room, I started to hear loud banging on the roof directly above my room because maintenance was making repairs to the roof. This went on for over an hour. 3. The man at the front desk neglected to inform me about the repairs at check-in and when I inquired about them, he tried to gaslight me in front of other guests in an attempt to make me appear as if I was overreacting. He denied that there was construction and that maintenance was only "checking for leaks". After further inquiry, he finally acknowledged that repairs were being done on the roof but continued to lie about providing notice online. When I followed up to fact-check, he became rude and condescending. He kept interrupting me and began to argue with me. He was extremely dismissive and unaccommodating. 5. The pool was definitely an eyesore. It was inoperable and was very dirty. It looked like it had been under construction for some time. 6. The container that was delivered with the continental breakfast the next morning smelled of spoiled milk. It contained 2 Svenhard Danish, 2 cartons of milk, 2 cartons of OJ, and cereal they rationed and packaged themselves. 7. The room smelled old, but the bathroom was modern and clean.

Needed handicap room. Was given second floor. Had to leave and find another hotel. Overall the place needs better communication.

Quaint Needs some outdoor sitting areas. Had a pool - but looks like it’s in transition for something else - right now junk storage.

The room had cleanliness issues in the bathroom (toilet), grime on phone and dressers, stained towels and sheets. Curtain sheers were torn and dirty. Room in partial state of remodel: no front door threshold (2 inch gap), no bathtub caulk, no bathroom threshold. Room was not made up after first night - no fresh towels, etc. Breakfast basket was questionable - boxed cereal, juice, and pastry. Outside property in partial state of remodel also - swimming pool being dismantled, roof in a suspended state of replacement. Experience was awkard and uncomfortable.

Cozy hotel ideally located for walking to downtown Carmel and enjoying all the sights and attractions there. Quiet, clean room, and affordably priced, I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're ever in Carmel.

Good place

The hotel was nice for the most part, nice location, staff was pleasant but no hot water was available in our room and the pool was non operable.

The room was nice and very clean the bathroom was very clean as well. The toiletries need to be adequate for the people staying in the rooms.

We were disappointed that our reservation confirmed by Expedia was not in the records of the inn. We were disappointed as well when our room was not made up one day and our feet tracked dirt into the shower as a resolution of the dirty floors. Those disappointments faded from mind because of the great location. We walked to our dinners in excellent nearby restaurants. Carmel by the Sea made for a wonderful visit.

The location was perfect

We had a good time at Carmel Inn and Suites! Our rooms (2) were comfortable and spacious. This was not the norm for our Carmel visits in the past. Great location, too. The price was very reasonable for all the amenities! Will definitely stay here again.

In town for my daughters wedding. This was just for one more night because we wanted some extra time in Carmel. The room is no frills, and exactly what we expected. Perfect for the evening. Great location in town. Walking distance to shopping and dining.

Hotel needs an upgrade. It is tired and worn.

Very Victorian. Bed/ Furniture, pool being remodeled, remodel of rooms during day with construction, painters, etc during each day. Parking spaces small, compacts ok.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and had daily maid service. The room was spacious and comfortable. It is within walking distance of several restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!!

Everything except parking was easy. Parking space is pretty small.

They had the property under construction so it was noisy. The room itself was nice. But none of the doors inside could be closed. The front door stuck and I had to ram my shoulders into it. The stag was ok. The parking is small and tight. I think it will be better after there done working on the place.

The hotel itself has a lot of potential but it has not been upgraded like similar in the area . They are renovating and it’s a bit noisy. The desk lady was very nice.

Bed fleas

Excellent location with walkable access to downtown and beach area. Liked the personal touch of their continental breakfast with a basket at our front door. Would definitely stay here again.

Carmel Inn & Suites is a charming hotel, with beautiful furnishings throughout. The management were very pleasant and helpful. The one drawback is that there is no elevator.

-Lack of amenities: very poor -Extremely poor quality of breakfast that was available. -not a good good experience in staying there. -would not intend to stay there next time and would not recommend others. -rooms do not match their pictures when I was booking a stay in this inn.

The bed was very hard - a wood platform with a 4 inch mattress on top that was 2” spring and 2 inches padding
