Awesome tropical trip with lots of leisure and sightseeing. We were impressed with Saletoga Resort, great facilities, food was excellent with great choice, quality and reasonable pricing.
They collected us from the airport, super easy and rental car options were available at the resort.

We stayed here for two nights. The resort is perfectly nestled on the south end of Upolu, Samoa. There is a huge difference between the single rooms located on the "old" block and the newer villas spread throughout the property. It's clean but lacks simple things like phones in the rooms. This means every time you want to contact reception, you have to walk or call them from a locally procured SIM card. The staff are hospitable and kind. The food was good. I think we'll book the Villa for a better experience next time. It's definitely a place we'll visit again.

The resort is pretty luxurious by Samoa standards. We were in the Matai fale - the Chief’s villa - which was just beautiful. It was right at the edge of the resort and very private. It was a spacious villa, very well appointed, with both indoor & outdoor bathroom spaces and a huge deck with our own outdoor dining set, as well as two sun loungers on our semi-private beach. There was a kettle and fridge and tv and and iron & ironing board.
The beach and water were lovely - it is very calm and safe to swim, snorkel and kayak.
Food options are not extensive but the food was pretty ok. The buffet breakfast was basic apart from the lovely fresh baked goods, but there were a la carte items too.
My partner was injured and could not walk so spent most of his time in our room, reliant on room service. The room phone didnt work and I had to walk up to order each time. I was told my only other option was to get a local SIM card and call from my mobile phone.
The staff were efficient enough but not hugely friendly or approachable. I found some of them quite offhand. We often observed one of the owners speaking harshly to staff. I wonder how they speak to their staff when nobody is around.
NYE was a buffet dinner but we could not attend & there was no other food available which had not been explained. I was told it was the restaurant buffet or nothing. The head chef Nitesh kindly agreed to make something for us when he heard about my partner.
I don’t think we would visit again.

I had an amazing time at Saletoga Sands Resort. The view was breathtaking, and my children loved the chance to see the beautiful fish right next to the shore. They were also delighted watching the crabs scuttle between the rocks. A highlight for me was the theme dinner nights, adding a unique and enjoyable dimension to my stay, and the pricing was very reasonable.
Saletoga Sands is a family-oriented resort. While there's a delightful splash pool and playground for children up to about 8 or 9 years old, most guests congregated around the separate swimming pool. The addition of ride toys for young children and a water slide into the ocean by the owners was a really nice touch. Even though I wasn't daring enough to go down the slide, I appreciated the creativity it brought to the property. The limited internet availability posed a challenge for my husband, but he didn't mind sitting in the lobby to stay connected, whereas I saw it as an opportunity to read a good book.
Overall, Saletoga Sands Resort exceeded my expectations with its thoughtful amenities, family-friendly environment, and unique touches that made our stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this resort.

The beaches needed to be cleaner.
Plastic wrappers floating in the water with massive sea weeds needed to be cleared so people can swim.
The beauty of Saletoga Resort is credited to the : "well built" cottages and the well planned details of the land's layout. More than this, the staff are excellent, friendly and welcomed the tourists with joy. Thanks to "Salome", the manager and the Saletoga Resort Staff. The staff protrayed the true Spirit of Alofa in Samoa. Malo Lava.

Beautiful place to stay! The grounds and the property are immaculately maintained. It’s run like a well oiled machine with super friendly staff who made dining with young children, hiring a rental car and changing rooms an absolute breeze. Thank you for our stay, we will be back!

We stayed for 6 days at Saletoga Resort and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The rooms were clean and the staff wonderful. Even got to chat with the owners who were very friendly and live onsite. Our family of 19 had a blast and looking forward to returning again soon. Thank you Saletoga staff.

Villa was lovely and the grounds, needed more than one pool because it gets a bit crowded.

We had a great trip to Saletoga Sands! The resort is beautiful, had everything we needed, and was very relaxed. Highlights for kids (we had a toddler with us) were the pool, kids pool, playground, "sandpits" next to each restaurant, beach cove, trampoline, and lovely staff who made a big fuss of her. We stayed in a Deluxe family room which gave enough space for her portacot to be set up and the room had AC available to cool it down for her day naps. We rented a car for one of the days to head to the caves and the trench, othewise we just relaxed on-site and had the best time!

We enjoyed our short stay (3 days) The room (we had a small bungalow) was clean, spacious and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was generous and there was a good variety. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent.
We enjoyed the pool but would have appreciated a handrail for access in/out, but the pool is lovely.
The snorkelling was ok - not as good as elsewhere though but I think that is just that coastline.
Would have appreciated more enforcement of the smoking/vaping areas - we don't smoke or vape and dont' enjoy it in the dining areas, bar or pool area. Overall a good stay and will will return.

It was an excellent location on the coastline beach and all. Loved it.

Wow, what a great property! Wish we had stayed longer! We stayed in the hotel rooms, which were very spacious and had what you needed. There are water refill stations all over the resort, so filling water bottles, inc the one in the room is easy and saves plastic!
We ate at both of the restaurants and think the waterfront one that has a different theme each night was the better option. Bbq night was great. For a resort with a captured audience (there isn't other dinner options nearby) the pricing was fair. Between 30-55 tala per main.
Loved the free kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel stuff from the beach hut. There was a surprising amount of fish in the coral barely steps from the shore.
The pool area could do with more loungers,.as groups and families put their towels on them and then don't seem to use them........
We had a great stay, the tropical gardens and layout of the resort was lovely. Also the great selection of DVDs to borrow for a quiet night in.
You definitely need a hire car to get out and see any sites. The airport transfers are on the pricey side at 80tala per person.

Service was very poor. Staff still need alot of training. Check-in was Slack. There wasn't any service delivered with a "SMILE". I had to tell one staff member how to do her job. "As a regular returnee to the Resort". I was surprised I wasnt acknowledge by the resort with any perks. One of my rooms I stayed in had a dirty bathroom. Sope residue, old soap, used left in soap dish.Toilet smelt.. like a toilet not been cleaned. The first room I stayed in, there was an incident with my room door unlocked & left open. I had gone to breakfast, locked my door. I returned to my room & found the door unlocked & open. I made a complaint to reception. The Cleaning staff of course denied going anywhere near my room, for fear of losing their job. Totally unacceptable!. If they made a mistake going to my room, they should have closed it & locked it. They also should have been honest about their mistake.

Loved staying at this resort. It was fabulous. The only negative for me was the remoteness as I didn’t have a hire car. So I simply relaxed. Gorgeous setting and great staff. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Matai Suite for 5 nights and wished we hadn’t. Despite this suite being represented as a VIP suite and private it was not.
The two villas on either side of us were filled with families with young children and babies meaning there was near constant crying/screaming etc from one villa on the other - heard most when using the outside shower. We only used the outside bath once for this reason.
Families with young children also set themselves up daily right in front of our villa, with children playing in the sand less than a metre from our deck. Despite raising this with management it continued. The only way to get privacy was to close our doors and curtains!!
There was also none of the represented extras - chocolates, wine and fresh flowers, although after the third time raising this we were offered two complimentary cocktails with a promise of the chocolates being delivered - but they never came.
The food was also disappointing. We did not have any meal that was correct - ranging from being delivered the wrong meals (leading to a one hour wait) to missing items. The fish on “fish night” was truly awful. I could not eat mine. Service was also poor.
There were many other issues that truly ruined this holiday for us.
I spoke to the owner Gavin after I became upset on the last day about issues with our transfer. He was a lovely man who clearly cares about his business and his customers. However, this discussion came too late to save our holiday.

We really enjoyed our 10 days, the people were very kind & friendly and helpful. Having the 2 restaurants was a bonus, our room was very clean, loved the private outdoor shower, snorkeling off the beach was great, the pool was very clean. Was nice to be able to access filtered water at the stations. Would highly recommend.

Hard to fault this place.
Right from check in it felt very well run and we were immediately treated to a premium service.
Large resort with amazing grounds, multiple bars and restaurants, two pools and multiple beach access points.
Food was top notch and even had vegetarian and gluten free options.
Room was much bigger than we had expected and was very clean and tidy.
Cons - pffft nothing of any real consequence. Highly recommend.

I spent two nights in one of the Beachfront villas. Not quite luxurious, but very nice. I especially loved the outdoor shower (there's an indoor shower too). Great AC when you want it or need it, but also a nice fan. Beautiful views. The villa is a little sparsely furnished, but on the other hand nothing is really missing. The property is well kept and quite attractive. Staff is nice, but this is Samoa and they are not polished. It's as if they are figuring it out as they go along. It's very much a family or couples place (as is pretty much all of resort Samoa), so it seemed like the staff didn't quite know what to do with me, a solo traveler passing through for a couple of nights and just wanting a nice place to stay in Samoa. Food was quite good. Finally, the area is pretty great: very close to the nicest waterfall and also close to the famous Trench. Nice place overall.

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The local Samoan staff have a great understanding of expected standards and are very well organised and focused on the enjoyment of their guests. The snorkelling options off the beach right in front of our bungalows were ideal, and it is a great place to entertain young children. While conditions were too windy to use their canoes there was plenty of local activities available to make up for this. The NZ owners introduced themselves at the cultural performance put on over dinner on one of the evenings that we were there.

The resort as a whole was beautiful. The gardens and beach were lovely.
The snorkling gear and flippers for hire were in a poor condition. They really need to be replaced..

Just how incredible they did by putting a resort in the location that is not conducive to modern day living and making it that way.

Overall a pretty nice place to stay! Landscaping around the resort is beautiful. Unfortunately it rained the entire 4 days we were here so it limited things to do as there’s not a lot of covered common areas etc to sit in, and rooms are okay but would be nice if they had more decorations. Outdoor showers in the rooms are AWESOME. Food is okay but very pricey and nothing else in the area so you have to eat at the resort. Most of the staff are friendly, but service at the restaurant can be a bit slow. If you are planning to rent a car or book a massage here, I would recommend booking a couple days in advance as it seems to book out quite quickly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saletoga Sands so much that we intend to return with our children & grandchildren. There was so much on offer from choice of bars and restaurants to swimming options in either the pool or the sea. We were lucky enough to arrive on Fia Fia night and considered it to be very good value for money.
Having provided a safe and secure children's pool and play area, it was disappointing to find small children occupying loungers around the main pool.

Nice, comfortable, clean room, nicely maintained grounds and good range of dining options. Staff was friendly and helpful. The resort is quite isolated and it was nice to have a rental car. Tours, rental cars/bikes and spa are also available.

The food portions were small and the price was to expensive for how much they give you, like I don’t want to have to buy two servings every time I eat. The serving staff was so bad as well, we asked for drinks and didn’t even get them until after we had finished eating.

It was absolutely beautiful! Couldn't have asked for a more incredible resort to stay at. Would highly reccommend and stay there again and again!

The property itself is stunning! It is well looked after and has so many things to do. There are amazing spa facilities as well where you can massages, nails done etc. The pool area is lovely, we spent a lot of time here. They also have a shallow pool by the playground for kids as well. The food was pretty good, and most of the staff were so friendly and lovely. It does depend who you get though, we brought some pouches for our baby and asked for it to be heated the first night and got told a flat no by one of the waitresses. Next night I asked a different waitress and she did it no questions asked. We steered clear of the first waitress from then on and it was great. I would definitely return.

This resort exceeded all our expectations. Amazing staff. The resort grounds and facilities were clean, tidy and well maintained. Spa was great. Pool is awesome and the beach is beautiful. We highly recommend it.
