Very clean. Pleasant staff. Great location. I do think it's horrible that they make you pay $10 per night to park your car there. The room was expensive enough. The least the could do would be to provide free parking.

We were looking for a pet friendly hotel. Upon check in we were not informed of their $150 pet fee, rather at check out were we informed of this quite high charge for our one night stay. We understand pet fee policies and have happily paid them when we have traveled with our fur babies. However, this is an enormous fee amount and especially for a one night stay. This experience has left us not wanting to stay at a Marriott for our future travels.

The room was designed with a kitchenette for longer stays. We only stayed 1 night. It was fine. It was off-season so we liked the absence of crowds and noise. The $10/day parking fee seems excessive given the room rate.

We traveled to the Bethany Beach Marriott for a one night stay Thanksgiving weekend. The room was really nice, updated and clean. Loved the modern updates! The hotel was having issues with their internet provider that night so our TVs were not working properly at all. That was very disappointing. Even after a tech came in and notified us they were working on the connections because most of the residents we’re experiencing the same issue and told us that the service should be working after 9pm. The service never worked properly. I don’t know anyone that comes to a hotel to just sit and look at one another. We ended up using our laptops and phones for entertainment and enjoying the beautiful ocean view at night. So we made the best of it. Very inconvenient. But not a major issue I guess. The parking fee to park in the garage was unexpected. I don’t recall seeing this when I booked through Expedia. Next time I will have to go on the hotels actual website too to make sure I am aware of any additional fees. I learned they do things differently in Delaware. After spending $300 to book a room for one night having to pay for parking seems a bit ridiculous to me. The breakfast was outstanding! All in all our stay was a pretty nice way to wrap up our holiday weekend.

The location is great - safe and convenient.
However, we had numerous issues with our room/restaurant: 1) The screen door leading to the deck was torn, 2: the sheer curtain was badly stained, 3) the toilet did not flush, 4) we ordered the basic spaghetti and meat balls dinner -- the meatballs were not cooked, were like rubber and could not easily be cut, and had to be taken off our check.
Very disappointing stay compared to prior visits.

Staff were very friendly and eager to provide a pleasant experience. Location was excellent. Room size was larger than expected. Parking was simple and convenient to the room. Pool area was clean and enjoyable. Breakfast options were abundant. Definitely recemmend!

It’s the little things. Stayed in an oceanfront room this time and two years ago and the difference was remarkably worse. Toilet was not properly cleaned from previous guest, there was no bath gel in the shower container, had to move a nightstand to properly plug in an electrical socket so the usb ports would work, and worst of all, the room door was so poorly installed that if we had the ocean side door open to hear the ocean, on a windy day the ocean sounds were drowned out by what sounded like the witches of Salem at the room door. We could hear most phone conversations from next door, plus their dog barking. Our room floor seemed a bit sandy (from the previous guests). The staff was everywhere and over anxious to help two years ago - this time they were aloof and often hard to find, especially at the reception area. The restaurant, Via Sophia is now under different management than two years ago. We had such a memorable wonderful meal two years ago and were so disappointed this time. Mediocre food and fighting fruit flies our whole meal. Just not worth the 1001 dollars we spent to celebrate our anniversary. We will look somewhere else next time. Wish this review was better, but I think you’ve gone downhill in the last two years.

We were placed on the first floor near a service area and the bar. There were things left in the hallway. The room opened directly on to the boardwalk and sand came directly into the room. The floor was gritty and uncomfortable to walk on. We could not use the beach because there were loud machines outside our window repairing the beach. It was noisy and disappointing not to have access to the beach as advertised. Also in the amenities, a spa was listed. I tried to make an appointment and the spa closed and left last year but it is still being advertised as part of the amenities. This was an awful experience. We left early. We prepaid and they charged us for one night. I was able to explain we had already paid and they removed the charge. I will not book this hotel again.

Property is under renovation and was not told. Pictures on line look nothing like room we booked. Had to call for linen and towels upon checking in. Very convenient location but that was all that was impressive considering the price.

This was my first stay at the hotel. I was pleased with the room and hotel surroundings. I was under the impression my booking was for an ocean view room, however, that was not the case. The front desk representative at check in provided great customer service. Sadly, she was the only representative I felt was accommodating and kind. I did not receive the same kind, attentive customer service from the remainder of the staff. In some cases, when I was walking around the hotel I was not even greeted with a warm smile.

First, we were shown to a smaller room than our pre-paid upgrade to an "executive suite". After a useless call to the front desk (no larger rooms available for 4 nights), and then an in-person visit, we were offered a room that was what we'd paid for, but for only for 2 of the 4 nights. (this room, a disability room, was missing towels and hangers). It's good there were grab bars, because the shower floor was very slippery. After 2 nights we had to check out at 11 and then check in again to a different room, that would be a "better" room and "in the same building." This whole process took about 2 hours, waiting and being told different things. (We missed a lunch with our family) Finally, they offered two choices; one was small and not what we'd paid for. The other was larger, but we realized later that it had no TV, and (in the morning with wet hair) no hair dryer, despite waiting quite a while to have housekeeping check it before we could move in. This room was in another building, as was the first. All of these changes involved moving all our bags and luggage back and forth across the street (and we are 77 and 80). The hotel is being renovated for the past 7 months, but that is no excuse. We made our reservations in February.
What was most upsetting to us was the fact that no one seemed too concerned about our welfare. I don't understand why we were treated this way. It is a pity, because there is so much potential here.

Disappointing that we didnt know the pool wasnt availabil until after we booked. The room only had 2 towels when we first arrived even though it was a family suite and we were a party of 5. There were coffee stirers.

Great location and after remodel is complete it will be a very nice property to stay at. It's a bit pricey and at it's price point I would expect free parking. Location is excellent. Check in was very slow and there was a lot of construction going on. Dining area wasn't open so temporary station was created to supply the free breakfast which was nice. Would have liked a better view from the room since it was off season and price was still over $200 but our room was on the south side directly facing windows of an adjacent building. Room inside was nicely redone including the bathroom. Bed was nice however did not have a mattress pad so it was a bit lumpy due to the tufts in the mattress. If you like a quiet town then this is a good location just be aware that if you are on the lower level of the hotel you will not have a view of the ocean as there is a large berm in front of the hotel on the other side of the boardwalk. You'll need to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor to get any views of the ocean.
