Beautiful resort. The girl at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. Multiple pools and fire pits, tennis courts. So much to do and the grounds are so beautiful filled with birds fish and turtles!

The grounds are beautiful and proximity to the beach was amazing. The weather was a bit cool but the heated pool was warm enough for our kids to still enjoy time swimming and they were excited about that! My spa experience (hydrating facial) was amazing and my husband took the kids to play mini gold right next door while I enjoyed extra time in the hot tub, sauna, etc. The employees were so kind, funny, and helpful and the dinners at the Barefoot Bar & Grill is top notch. The kids loved looking for sea life in the lagoon near the restaurant and the chess, checkers, and jenga in the lobby were a big hit. The central location to Sea World and the Zoo were key and we primarily just used Ubers to avoid the $42/night parking fee. We only rented a car from the airport to head to Legoland. Facilities are very clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again :)

It was beautiful. There was a couple of things that bothered me though. Parking fee 44.00, resort fee 40.00 per room for I don't even know what and there is no prices listed on your room service menu which made me order Doordash instead.

Amazing staff and activities to do will be back again shortly to do it all over again

The place is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms had ants in it. Interior needs an update and pool was not working.

Overpriced and no resort activities actually included in high room price or daily “resort fee” $44 per night - other than gym access which should be complimentary. Parking is also additional $42 per night! When parking should also be complimentary. All other resort activities such as spa , fire pit use, or water sports were only available at an additional cost, and meals at the resort restaurants were not included. The view of Mission Bay from beachside bar and grill was fair, being partially blocked by docked boat, and the restaurant was besieged by pigeons and seagulls, with guano overly abundant in dining areas which is hardly appetizing. The food was of a good quality- about 3 stars out of 5 - but the food was not worth the $76 price for simple , non-gourmet cheeseburger, fries , small piece of cake, and margarita. This resort has a small private beach which is a plus but no beach chairs provided - but available at an additional cost. This place nickles and dimes its patrons at luxury prices - but without providing a luxury experience. The room and bathroom were not cleaned appropriately so I decided to wait to get home to shower since I only stayed 2 nights. The small lanai are the back of the room I had would have been better if the chairs provided had a cushion or were clean - instead the hard wooden chair was dirty and uncomfortable. Also, no awning or cover provided so you can bake in the sun on the lanai if it is a sunny day - which usually it is in San Diego.

The resort is beautiful. It feels like you're on a tropical island! The room was clean but it did not smell good. We booked the signature bonfire experience for our daughter's birthday. Everything was set up for us nicely. Everyone had a great time!

We can park outside our room, which is so convenient. The staff is friendly, and the environment is perfect for our 18-month-old boy. Just feeding the ducks makes him busy the whole day.

Had an amazing time but two things stuck out like a sore thumb. 1) The TVs have a horrible channel selection and do not have a way to connect to Netflix or have movie channels like modern hotels. We were stuck watching regular tv and barely anything was on. 2) A few times we went to the restaurant and there were tens of tables empty but we were told they were short on staff so we could not get seated promptly. Besides those 2 issues I would say this place was a pleasure to stay at.

The location and the property was amazing. The restaurant - Barefoot Grill was wonderful service but that is where the service ended. The ladies in the market and the staff around the resort, including the front desk, didn't seem to enjoy their jobs and spoke as little and smiled as little as possible. Very disappointed as I was expectant on better service. Rooms were nice except one of ours had a funky odor, shower drain took four calls to get fixed and air didn't work. Location was amazing!

Beautiful location and in a perfect location. You are close enough to down town to enjoy the night life but far enough away to have a peaceful nights rest.
The fire pits On along the beach are public property however, so first come first serve.
In the summer time the beach bungalows have to suffer the late night party of the fire pits.

The location is beautiful. Lovely grounds and fascinating wildlife (mainly birds). Very quiet and peaceful.

We had a couple bat bugs. Towels and linens were very old and looked grey. Parking costs more than the competitors. This rate is way too much for this facility.

When we arrived at the lobby there was no one where to help us check-in. I had to knock their office doors and yell helloooo for a few mins until someone finally comes out. We stayed for 3days 2 nights, there was no housekeeping during our stay. We tried the restaurant for breakfast and it was not good yet very expensive.

I have been visiting this resort for several years - both for business (convention/meetings) and personal (vacations) reasons.
I just celebrated my birthday and New Years with family here (I raised them in San Diego but I live in DC now).
WOW. 2024 - here we come!
Some top reasons that I love/appreciate:
1. The is no need to leave "the island"; there are so many activities for adults/children/families to explore and experience.
2. The service is amazing. It's NOT the Four Seasons but it's the good part of "California Cool"; which is my preference. I can still "feel" the family/private owned roots/culture blended with the practical corporate requirements/expectations (especially at the Front Desk).
3. The place is very well maintained. For an outdoor resort, I really appreciate the care and attention to the common areas, beach/tide pools, restaurants, and rooms.
Some things that I hope they would make better:
Trust me, I'll visit more often:
1. Security deposit is too high compared to local resorts (although the resort fee is definitely worth it).
2. Parking is too high (I realize that it's a "money maker", but really?)
3. Market prices are too high (my opinion is that people will spend more NOT to drive to buy things from the market if it was more practically priced).
4. WIFI is choppy (definitely NOT a deal-breaker but just saying).
Special "shout out" to Amanda at the Barefoot Restaurant - absolutely the best EVER to me and the kids!

Absolutely awful place! Pebblebrook hotels should be ashamed of themselves. My husband and I booked a room there on NYE for a 2-day stay with our dogs. Lived in San Diego my entire life and always loved the location. Have hosted many holiday events there without any hiccups. Never Again! The room was basically a shoebox and smelled moldy. They gave us only 1 parking spot. The grounds were shotty at best, ponds were filthy, weeds and grasses growing up in the sands around entire property perimeter. We didn't get a wink of sleep because the walls are paper thin and other guests that flanked us has children that screamed and cried all night long. Room service is always expensive but I never expected to be delivered to our room in a paper bag, cold, plastic cutlery and paper plates to dine on. We checked out immediately the next day, with no copy of our room charges or notification that they had essentially gouged us in fees. Everything has a fee! I'm surprised they didn't charge us for every flush of the toilet. I can accept the fee for our dogs and the loss of money paid to Expedia for the night we decided to forfeit but the hotel also assessed us an early check out fee. This fee with taxes cost more than their published nighty rate on their website. So we got screwed multiple times and the hotel refused to compensate us via Expedia for a single cent. Thanks Paradise Point, you lost an incredibly loyal customer forever!

I was pleased with my stay here, everybody was super friendly. A few problems I encountered were what looked to be cockroaches in the bathroom, on a few occasions after we showered. Another problem was a lot of the hot tubs they had weren’t even hot, they were warm and felt like the same temperature of the pool, I was disappointed to see the adult hot tub was also closed when we tried going. Other than that I feel like it was a nice resort :)

I really enjoy this hotel. They offer a lot of activities throughout the resort. In the lobby there is a nice fire pit and a table checkers game. There are table tennis spots. Mini golf. Fire pits all along the beach that are first come first serve so bring chairs and firewood and set up early to claim. Great restaurants on the resort that is a 5 min walk. Water activities such as boat rentals and paddle board rentals. Dog friendly. Great get away spot

Came home and had cockroaches in my suitcases. The hot tub was broken by our room so we walked to another pool and that hot tub was barely hot. The bathrooms didn’t had door handles at the pool and our room wasn’t clean when we arrived.

The property had a lot of great amenities that we were not able to take advantage of because of our short stay and the time of the year... the pools, firepits, bars and restaurants. But we enjoyed our stay very much. The room was spacious and clean and it was very quiet. Some of the facilities around the property need some repair and/or touch-up, but overall it was a very good resort.

very nice grounds, beautiful views of the bay. The rooms are spacious and you do not hear your neighbors. The one negative review is for cleanliness. The sheets had definitely not been changed. We had to request clean sheets and a clean mattress cover at 9:30pm. The service staff did respond promptly with the clean items.

This was a beautiful property with friendly staff and perfect rooms. I lived the main restaurant and the jacuzzi especially

Too pricey. It is not worth for the money being charged. It is too much to charge parking fee even if the property has designated parking spot and plenty of spaces to park.

Its a nice location. The food at the barefoot bar and grill was average at best. The other restaurant isnt open on Mondays and Tuesdays so if you’re there on those two days its best to go off resort for dinner. I was really disappointed that the adults only hot tub was out of service the whole time we were there, this meant dealing with rowdy kids at all times. The biggest issue with the place is that the walls are paper thin, we could hear every word of our neighbors' conversations, it was really annoying when trying to sleep. This was a big issue for me.

We were caught off guard by the $42/night parking fee and $39/night resort fee. The extra fees should have been made clearer. Our package deal was not such a good deal.

The property is nice and has a lot of potential. We visited over Christmas and were pleasantly surprised with the holiday events and activities. It really made our stay for our children ages 6 and 7. I would suggest they keep the movie night going as all the kids seemed to really enjoy that. We found the food options to be very limited on site. After a few days we were bored of the same food and my kids would have loved to see spaghetti, pizza or some other kid friendly options on the menu at the Barefoot Bar and Grill. We never got to try Tidal but the menu didn’t look much better. The prices of things are “resort” prices so you pay a lot more. The room was pretty dated and had terrible ventilation. The window doesn’t open and the door had no screen either to get some fresh air flow. Everyday our window and surrounding area was dripping wet which I can only imagine could be leading to mold and mildew growth. The bed and pillows weren’t great either. The main pool was cold the day we used it, but the other pool with the fire pits was warmer and became our go to pool and hot tub. Overall I would recommend the place if for only a couple days.

We had a great time and are already planning our trip back!
It was "cold" so the fire pits were an amazing touch!
Love that the dog could come and love how they have security patrolling the grounds 24/7. We also loved all the things to do there. Again, already planning our next stay there! See you soon.
