It was a very nice property and helped to make our stay that much more enjoyable.

Exceptional, friendly staff. Full hot breakfasts. Extremely clean and well kept property in a great location near the waterfront. Comfortable bed and room complete with stove, fridge, microwave. Modern well equipped bathroom. All in all, very happy with property and would gladly stay there again.

A small retail outlet offering snacks, notions, etc would be a bonus since there is nothing really close. A nice-to-have but not a deal breaker.

My stay was great. I love Victoria in the Spring. I did find the various restaurants very expensive.

I really enjoyed having breakfast in the lovely sun room facing the garden. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed exploring the James Bay area especially with all the fantastic Spring flowers.

I had asked for early check-in as my flight from the Yukon left at 7 am. I was able to check-in until after 4. I understand hotel was busy though. Also I wish there was a shuttle from the airport. As a 70 year old tired woman I couldn't face traveling by bus with my luggage so it cost me $80 both ways to and from hotel to airport.

Close convenient and wonderful compliment to your tourist experience.

Staff was helpful, breakfast was good and the room was clean and conveniently located to everything in downtown Victoria. For a basic continental breakfast the food quality was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location was between all the attractions in downtown Victoria.

It was a good experience, no major complaints. The parking situation was tight, but that is understandable given its location. Perhaps an incentive not to bring your car would encourage more people to not bring their car here, or Tavel by other means (myself included).

We'll be back.

Breakfast and convenience to city sites. We were going to UVic, but it was nice to have access to other city venues.

The air conditioner/heater unit didn't function because the filter was filthy/clogged. Apart from that, the room was fine and comfortable. Nice clean bathroom, etc.

Handy James Bay location

Comfy bed. Big windows but with blackout curtains. Plentiful plugins by bed were handy. Nice bedding and towels in good shape. Carpet free. Very quiet. Onsite parking for a fee.

I would prefer having a couch in room rather than sitting on bed.Parking should be included in stay fee. Breakfast was underwhelming - Many offerings in a Lovely breakfast room, but the coffee was insipid, eggs and potatoes were cold.

I try to stay at this hotel whenever I come to Victoria. It’s close to everything.

I like this hotel, overall it is good value. Rooms are clean and comfy. Staff was very friendly. They have the amenities we need and their Breakfast buffet is included with the price of the room and has a lot of choices. There were even several gluten free choices. I didn’t notice if the offered gluten free bread for toast, but I hope they do as we will be back.

Sometimes this hotel can be ridiculously overpriced, but everything is today. I wait till the rates go down and then I book it.

Location

The breakfast was poorly managed . There was a team so it was impossible to get to any hot food. It was not very fresh . We had just barely finished chewing our plates were taken. It was definitely time to leave I guess

Schönes, sehr gut gelegenes Hotel

Sehr nettes Personal, super Frühstück. Das Zimmer war ein klassisches Hotelzimmer. Sehr komfortabel aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Die Frühstückslocation war sehr süß. Super Lage!

Enjoyed staying in a historic building

Within walking distance of downtown and many major bus routes. Great buffet breakfast. Fun loft room

They only provided a casserole dish for baking, no cookie sheet. It was a bit odd.

Wonderfully relaxing time in this beautiful city.

Beds were incredibly comfortable! The location is second to none. Hop off the ferry and the hotel is across the street. Tea at the Pendray was perfect.

Great location, good prices and nice facility.

Had requested a late checkout upon booking the property and was told via email that we could keep the room until 4:00 PM for an additional fee, which I agreed to. Upon checking in, I was told the property was sold out and they couldn’t accommodate my late checkout. They did upgrade our breakfast to the tea house and offer to hold our luggage and told us we could hang out in the lounge while we waited for our ferry which was somewhat helpful. But not quite as helpful as having the room for the day like I had requested. For context, I had requested the late checkout so that my dad, who has mobility issues and can’t walk/stand for long periods, could have a place to rest. All that being said, this was my second stay and I would stay again.

convenient location, good breakfast. Hotel needs updating.

Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. They even let us in a few minutes early, we had a ferry to catch.

The bunk beds beds were SO squeaky. Every movement. Woke us all up. ‘Amenities’ were not replenished during our stay. Was not expecting any housekeeping daily, but I think someone was supposed to come in and at least replace the coffee? Beds were made on the second day, but again no coffee. The room we had was so dark. I know it is an old building, but very weird light switches. Very dated (not like old timey vintage, more like not renovated since the 80s.)

A really fabulous, relaxing few days, eating breakfast outside on the courtyard each day.

Decent sized room and a fabulous older style charm that really made the hotel stand out.

No bar and no restaurant were a bit disappointing and while not an issue for us, anyone with mobility issues would perhaps struggle, not only tracking to the downtown area of the city to eat/socialise, but breakfast seemed only to be accessible via steps so would be difficult for anyone in a wheelchair.

The location was so convenient - close to the Clipper, downtown, shops, restaurants and many attractions. Nice room and good breakfast.

Would consider another stay on a higher floor. Really loved the location.

The location! Unbelievably well situated. Grounds very well kept.

I would have loved to know that the main floor accepted pets as I would have requested a higher floor. The carpet on the main floor is very uninviting and dingy! Breakfast…although included with stay was not great. Coffee was very washed out. Croissants were dry! Small changes would make a difference.

Lots of stairs. Ask for first floor to avoid stairs. First floor more stairs than other floors. No way to avoid stairs to have breakfast.great location but are room had no view. The staff were friendly though.

Hallways and room smelled of old. Bedroom was old and in need of a solid renovation. The room was really dark even with all the lights on. Lack of electric plugs, I had to ask for an extension cord and purchase a multi plug to connect my work laptop and devices. AND 15 dollars for the hotel parking!
