Poor

The staff made the difference. Everyone I encountered were professional and friendly.

The carpet throughout the building was old, stairwell carpet was musty! My room was DIRECTLY over the bar (Room 202) and the DJs music was so loud I couldn't rest -- walls are paper thin! I asked to have my room changed and that was not possible. Fortunately, I was only there for 2 nights because between the music and the lumpy bed closest to the window it was not a pleasant experience.

Not worth the money.

We liked that we could walk to the water.

No real outside seating or patio. Staff had low energy. They should have been more excited to have us there.

In one of major towns on island and close to grocery store.

A bit of a walk from attractions. Not very clean. Partially updated on old underlying infrastructure. Lipstick on a pig analogy.

Hotel location is horrible unless you have a car. The building looks run down. Horrible rugs and very old in general

Not the ideal location to experience the true charm of Edgartown and Martha's Vineyard.

Overall, the hotel was clean and updated with nice decor/aesthetics. The attached restaurant, Town MV, was very nice and even very lively for off-season. Only a short drive or walk to get to the heart of Edgartown. Centrally located for easy drives to all parts of Martha's Vineyard.

The room listing said there was a patio, which was the only reason we booked here. There was no patio. There was a random row of picnic tables on the backside of the hotel, but no access to get to them other than walking outside the main entrance and around the building. The location is much more in-land and essentially shares a parking lot with the Stop N Shop, so not as quaint as being a few blocks down in the heart of Edgartown. There were no amenities included besides a coffee machine with some pods. For off-season, this hotel should have been priced much lower than what we paid. With this being our first time on the island, we now know next time to stay somewhere else.

Nice Hotel

Our room with a nautical theme was spacious and clean. Bus stop, 2 resto and grocery are just within the vicinity of the hotel, which was conveneient for us.

Our room was located at the end of the hall near the exit. We noticed that everytime the door across or the exit opens, our door responds to a suction motion causing it to rattle. Good thing this stopped when we were about to sleep.

Lovely clean and friendly hotel.

Clean rooms, nicely decorated. Lovely shower. Friendly staff. Next door to a food shop. Free parking.

No breakfast so have to either buy food in food shop or go into Edgar town. A bit of a walk into town centre 15-20min, not a problem for us but it might be for some.

Overall a good stay

While there are no breakfast options in the hotel (no breakfast buffet, nor nearby restaurant that serves breakfast), there is a Stop & Shop grocery store just next door where you can pick up milk, juice and fruit to take back to your room. There is a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room as well as a small 1-cup at a time coffee machine (but it is not a Nespresso machine) that we had to ask about since it wasn't in the room when we arrived . The location was a pleasant 15 minute walk away to downtown Edgartown. We took a morning jog to the beach, so location for us was nice. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable although the noise from some kind of compressor kept waking us up. The man who received us at check in was very nice and helpful.

Disappointed considering the price

The carpet was sticky and old. The air conditioning was very loud and the the vent was very dirty. The restaurant at the hotel did not serve food after 1900hrs.

Staying here was great: close to the supermarket, and a restaurant.

The size of the rooms was wonderful. Staff was very accomodating.

The price was three times as much.

The staff are nice and aside from the carpet, I think the hotel is decent and I have no issues coming back.

Near a lot of interesting places to visit. Walking distance to a Stop&Shop and China House Restaurant which is very convenient.

Carpet too old and dirty.

The hotel location was within walking distance to the harbor.

I liked being on the first floor and it was an added bonus to be near the restaurant. The double room floor plan was nice and the bathroom was very roomy as well.

Nice location...owner needs to stay at this place to experience it like a guest

No breakfast offered to us. Kinda bummed about that.

Super slow wifi. Lamps and lights didn't work or seemed in poor condition. No breakfast...and no mention of breakfast to be included...so we went out. Hated the TV...super complicated to get it to work and very limited channels. .

unprofessional, needs updating and finishing

the ability to eat on site

started my stay interrupting the guy at the front desks cigarette break sitting outside the front door, then had broken A/C, TV was next to impossible to work ( needing to remotes, one for channels, one for volume) lady at front desk called me before check out time to remind me I had to leave 🤦‍♂️

Great stay at the Edgar!!

Lovely little place, rooms are clean and comfortable and it has a perfect location! Walking down to the front is just 10 minutes and Stop and Shop next door has everything you need. The hotel bar/restaurant ‘Town’ had excellent food too!

Not a minute of silence

I was in room where it was never silent. This was the case because you can literally hear anything what happens in the hall, in the lobby, in the room above you, and especially outside where machines are making nonstop noise. (On top of that it is very expensive to stay here)

Superb

We loved the decor, cleanliness

The hotel advertised a bar/restaurant . There is not one on the property. It was next door and it was closed for winter. we came back one night and there was a suspicious person standing next to the side entrance door and it spooked us. We told the front desk and they didn’t seem bothered.
