It was a cozy rustic place that was great for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful beautiful rustic feel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The also had a gas fire place in the room. Beautiful patio area to sit outside.

Wish it was closer to heavenly village but it was only maybe 8 min-10 min drive away.

Great staff, clean and spacious suite near all great things in Tahoe .

The staff at Black Bear Lodge were friendly and accommodating. They welcomed us with special anniversary gifts/treats. The room was quite spacious , clean and comfortable and close to every Tahoe point of interest we wanted to explore. I would stay here again.

Beautiful lodge, loved our stay

Friendly staff, beautiful lodge and grounds. Very well kept and clean. Lodge had lots of character and large trees. Great location, walking distance to most restaurants and activities.

Only shortcoming was lack of coffee. They did have a pour over method coffee maker, but the coffee was not good. Also, there was crushed ice availability, but cubed ice would have been nice to have.

A lovely weekend in our cozy cabin

We were upgraded to the studio cabin and it was such an amazing surprise. The cabin was spacious, super clean, and very cute with nice touches like a cozy fireplace and good size kitchen. We were there during a big snowstorm so we spent a lot of time in the room and it felt very comfortable and relaxing. The main lodge also has a wine bar which we enjoyed one evening.

We were surprised that there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room. It was not a big deal but that little touch would have just made our stay that much better. Also, it is a bit pricey but for the location, space, and cleanliness, it was worth it for us.

Very good

Location and 2 fireplaces and hot tub. Owner /staff were very polite and set up a nice surprise for our child's birthday.

Leaking roofs and soggy water hallways. No elevator and I am older with bad knees and back. The furniture in the living room was nice to look at, but uncomfortable to relax on. They stated it was 2 queen beds, but they were more like 2 double beds.

The best place to stay in Tahoe!

Black Bear Lodge is so cozy and beautiful! Definitely the best place to stay in Tahoe! We loved our stay! Our cabin was so cute and comfortable. And the staff was so kind and helpful! We can’t wait to be back for more fun in the snow!

Small lodge room with a comfy bed, nice fireplace and great scenery.

Beautiful scenery.

The Lodge Room was pretty tiny. We assumed from the pictures that it’d be small, but not a single tiny bedroom. Wish we knew that before booking, but the pictures are a little misleading. Wish we had more space since we came to relax. Otherwise, we had a nice stay.

Wonderful place - are considering to come back here next time

We liked everything about the place. Nice staff, god location, quiet, nice facilities, open gas fire in room, open fire in "living room style" lobby annex wine bar, jacuzzi, wine-bar. Really a nice place to relax for a few days as we did... it was out of season (October), so perhaps extra quiet and no ski tourists yet.

Best South Lake Tahoe experience so far!

aesthetics are great, captures the Tahoe vibe beautifully. there are nice touches in everywhere that speak to the level of detail that has been considered in putting the place together. super friendly greeting at check in.

only that our stay wasn’t long enough, but that will be remedied next visit.

Great place to stay

The property is set in a beautiful garden and the plunge pool was fabulous. Great spot to go to after the long hikes. The cabins themselves are super clean and really cozy I loved the fire place in the cabin it really created a great atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and so helpful and made you feel really welcome. I would go back in a heart beat.
