Relax and family time
Perfect location with beautiful beach! The food was very good and diverse. The employees were very nice, polite and available.
The main issue of the resort is the sunbeds reservation by the guests. Although there are lots of signs warning the guests about this procedure, this was not applied. So, there were lots of sun beads, covered with towels or stuff from other guests, not used during the most part of the day (or not at all). Those signs and warnings should be applied in fact.

Good beach access but not very clean
The hotel mostly caters to families with kids. during our stay we barely saw anyone without (!) kids. If you have kids it’s probably a good place for you. The hotel has a nice own access to the beach and this is a huge advantage. Just a few steps down the stairs and you can swim in the sea. The location is also very good if you have an own car (!!): if you don’t have a car, you will need to get taxis to get anywhere as the hotel is pretty far away from nearest villages. The suites have a lot of space and nice big terraces. There’s a nice ice cream place on premises and a nice mini market where, to my surprise, the prices weren’t too high (actually some of teas they sell cost most in the town nearby).
The floors looked like they have never been vacuumed let alone washed. I think nobody cleaned the floors even before our arrival because when I moved the rug, there was a layer of dirt under it. We stayed for a week and the floors (obviously) got more and more dirty and the cleaner never bothered to do anything about it. So the dirty floors were a massive no, and the dirty sunbeds also. The sunbeds are looking worn out, beaten, and dirty and have stains one them. The breakfast, for a Cretan/Greek standard, is not too good. It gives an impression at first like there’s so much but it’s mostly because the room is huge and the stuff is spaced out. But it’s mostly a very standard selection of things and it’s underwhelming. For example: there were only a few kinds of cheese there and only two (!) were Greek. It’s quite bizarre because there’s so much cheese in Greece and there’s so much to offer to the guests. There wasn’t much on account of meat or fish, except some slices of ham and something canned. Don’t get me wrong, the breakfast is still very decent and you won’t walk away hungry but compared to other places on Crete I’ve seen it’s not that impressive. And the part about the kids: this place is really focusing on big families with kids, and so the pool is basically just a row of prams and the kids are owning the pool. I think that if you are not in this demographic you might want to be elsewhere.

Perfect place for families
I thought that our reservation included breakfast but apparently it didn't. Nevermind - breakfast for parents with two kids (below 12) is at a good price. There's a good variety of food (both breakfast and dinner which we also had a few times) - I can't say that it was extremely tasty, but even the vegan in our family found something to eat and was happy. Lots of good fresh fruit too!
Two small things I suppose: 1. It would be nice to have more shade around and in the pools 2. The cleaning crew comes at odd hours. It was really hot during our vacation so we usually were in the room around noon and until the sun found another victim, but the cleaning crew would drop by at around 2pm which is an international nap time... :) we asked them to come later and they did, but it would be nice if they'd just come in the morning. (or at least have a dnd card to put on the room door)

We enjoyed our stay. A great choice for families.
Big, well set out property. Private beach with water sports offered was a great bonus. Dinner buffet was a fabulous option when we wanted to stay at the resort.
Our room was very basic and didn’t reflect the standard of the rest of hotel. We booked a family room for 4 people. The two beds for the kids were super small.

Superb
Wonderful localisation. Beautiful beach with a great view. We once went to a Voulisma beach (reportedly one of the most beautiful on the island), which was crowded, no changing stations and loud, and we stayed there for 10 minutes tops and decided to go back to "our" Candia beach to have a nice swim without being worried that our stuff would be stolen. We booked a superior family apartment and for 3 people it was really spacious and comfortable. Maybe a bit outdated, but at the bathroom was renovated. The terrace was big enough to play ball with my daughter or do yoga in the morning. The staff was mannerly and helpful.
Two things - uncomfortable bed with hard pillows; and 2nd - the hotel has no policy regarding 'booking' sunbeds with a towels on the beach. Each time we got there, there were many sunbeds 'booked' this way and we ended up leaving our stuff on one of those risking a fight with someone else, as there was no sunbeds available; once I got to the beach at about 2 pm - since it was lunch time there were perhaps 10 people there and yet no available sunbeds! I finally found one in the full sun. That was very annoying.
