The 5swiss hotel is great. Quiet, clean, perfect hosts, nice breakfast, secure and well located, I could not ask for a better place to stay.

The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The room was terrific, and the food for breakfast and dinner (we had once) was tasty and in big proportions. Located a short walk to town, and a quick motorbike ride to other need-to-visit places, the hotel covered all bases for us and we would recommend to other travelers.

We absolutely loved the simplicity but authenticity of the welcome. The room was ready, extremely clean and functional, although we arrived before the check-in time. When I enquired about some typical local food, the chef offered to cook it for me although it was not on the menu, and only charged us the equivalent of their cheapest dish on the menu. Needless to say, it was delicious! Because of our flight times, we were allowed to check out at 9pm, at no additional charge!! This kindness is absolutely unheard of (as far as I am concerned, in the hotel business). We watched a Worl Cup football match in the dining room, and we were generously offered some local, roasted peanuts with our drinks. Although our stay was short, the kindness of the staff, the comfort of the room (with the outside private seating area) and the convenient location of the hotel made our time there very relaxing and overall extremely enjoyable. We will definitely go back there if we ever return to Kigali!

If you are visiting during summer, note that there is no AC despite description of hotel saying there is. Rooms come with a fan though.

- no AC in the room. - no hot water : we had to ask to turn the electric heating and it took a couple of hours to get it. - soap in the bathroom was not new : he was re- placed in a paper while it had obviously been used before. I am all for recycling but in the covid-19 context, we felt uncomfortable. - the staff asked us to pay our invoice at 11:00 pm when we get back from dinner outside : it was a bit odd.

The staff is extremely helpful and polite. Rooms are perfectly functional and clean. The restaurant is excellent, I can recommend "Boef Stroganoff" with a sauce made in paradise! The location of the hotel is very central, still it is a quiet place to stay. A supermaket with Rwanda products like moutain coffee and tea is around the corner.
