amazing location but terrible service
loved the location, atmosphere and cleanliness however the service as a person of color was the worst to say at best.
As a person of color please do not expected to be treated with much respect in terms of having forms of transportation booked and available to you. Please ensure that the complementary alcoholic beverages provided by them upon your arrival are stored away once leaving your room for the day/night or evening as they will drink it. Also ensure all personal items are stored in the safe or in a safe space as they will tamper with those items as well.

Lovely upscale property in the middle of paradise
The location is excellent! Not the best beach on the island but nice for lounging waterfront or for water sports if that's your thing, but it's next to 2 other beautiful hotels so there are good options for dining. Location is away from the bustle enough to be a true retreat unlike Eden Roc but not an absolute pain to drive to like the Cheval Blanc. Like everywhere else on the island service is EXCEEDINGLY warm if occasionally a little confusing. I had to ask for housekeeping several times one evening and they never came and they got all our spa and covid test reservation dates mixed up -- maybe a language barrier? They also let us borrow a beach umbrella that turned out to be broken, very inconvenient to find out once we were on the beach. But they're so uniformly nice and either young and beautiful/slightly spacey, or oldish (you know, my age) and very pro...quite on brand for the rest of St Bart. The girl that worked by the pool and the young voitureur were so nice! The staff mostly speak English and were patient with my super sad french. The concierges flirted generously with us sad olds -- flattering! The grounds are lovely. The room was lovely though we did have mosquitoes and some roachlike insects but a pretty normal amount for a wet Caribbean island (weve had way worse). Room was super clean. Bed too soft for my taste but still comfortable. Delicious room service, restaurant and cocktails and the complimentary mini bar was appreciated. Spiegelau crystal glasses, exquisite high end toiletries I'm now obsessed with, good towels, great bathrobes, great housekeeping, 24 hour valet...They served us champagne and snacks in the room when we arrived and unpacked the car for us...We had an absolutely fabulous time on St Bart and cannot wait to return, easily one of the best vacations of my life. I would return to this hotel, and I thought it was fairly priced given what you get and what things cost on island.
Broken loaner umbrella, mix ups with reservations and housekeeping requests; minor details. The live music in the restaurant was too loud and I was afraid the singer (a guy with white people dreds and a kitten-growl singing style) was going to talk to us when he was working the crowd. He didnt though. Bed is too soft.
