Very poor

No private bathroom even for expensive single room. Internet was terrible and it was dirty.

Nice if you are after quiet

The staff were friendly and the outdoor area with the pool is beautiful and relaxing.

It is quite far out of Kampala and it feels quite empty as it is such a huge property. You have to walk outside to get to the shared bathroom and I saw quite a few mosquitoes while I was having a shower.

Resort-like affordable hotel

There is a full menu restaurant and bar on the second floor, which makes it convenient to travel in irregular times, have guests join you for meals etc. The price is great for a city hotel with so many amenities.

I don't know how I missed the fact the the rooms are not ensuite. The communal washroom wasn't too bad in our case, because occupancy was very low.

Okay when you have no choice

Shared bathrooms for 37 dollars, no WiFi , restaurant closes at 9, no smoking in MY room 🙄 I think you should be clearer on online booking sites, I booked standard double thinking it was self contained 😒 even smaller establishments are self contained. or is it the only the camping, sharing bathrooms crowd you cater to?

Nice location but a little run down and quiet

Food was tasty and fresh, the place is very spacious and the pool and views are nice

our room was very simple and not very clean - Molly shower screen, very old noisy stained fridge, mosquito nets had holes. The place generally looks quite run down. Also some services offered are not available such as the shuttle service, and none of the social activities (movie nights, pizza by the pool) are actually being organised.

Only stay here before your safari

The staff offered us a discount for our stay ahead of the safari booked with them. We ended up paying about a third of the original asking price which we found very forthcoming. Additionally the on site restaurant is very affordable.

The rooms reminded us of air raid shelters, very dim and with lots of concrete in view. The staff can be helpful but they tend to be on the less active side, at times waiting behind the counter for your dinner order. Beside that, we had the impression that the underlying organization of the hostel could do with some improvements. For example, we left some large backpacks in the hostel when we went on safari, explicitly stating that we would be coming back to stay another night at Red Chili's afterwards. Mid-Safari we were treated to a very awkward conversation with our guide who told us that the hostel had contacted him about the "unpaid bill" for our stay. Upon telling him we had every intention of going back to the hostel, considering our bags were still there, the situation was resolved. Yet a feeling of wonder lingered about how an information like that could have gone missing. Next to this experience, the fact that staff members popped up next to us every other minute to ask us to pay bits and bots that they had forgotten to charge us for seems to pale, yet it felt strange to only see the staff acting proactive whenever it concerned us paying some little odd charge.

A nice place to stay- comfortable rooms

The pool and grounds are lovely and the bar was good.

There’s no/not many rooms with bathrooms - so the only choice was to share

Great to be in a green area in Kampala.

Great atmosphere, a blessing of quietness in bustling Kampala. Nice swimming pool, and all very clean.

Room was a bit dark (only one spotlight). As the hotel is relatively isolated, it would be good to have meal options during nighttime (restaurant closes 11pm), maybe a vending machine. Very friendly staff!

Great service and stay in a beautiful location

It was a nice room, great service, good food and overall a great stay.

The food was cold by the time it reached our room, though we also hadn’t asked them to bring it to our room so while that was nice, I wish it was warm

Bad

Booking.com deceived us by charging as all meals included. We registered complaint and no action taken last night. We asked for late check out today at check in time with hotel. Today we are told to clear the rooms. So unprofessional. We paid for all the meals till last night and the restaurant get the order wrong and charges unnecessarily. Frogs in the rooms and no hot water water. Our baby who is six months has a rough night. We will not use you again
