Hipster vibe hotel

A beautiful hotel. You can access the hotel straight from the metro, very convenient. Nice coffee house on site for good coffee. Very clean and quite big room with a good shower and bathtub. Nice architecture and nice woody smell.

The staff could do better when recommending restaurants - tried two that were not very good.

Nice hotel and good staff, not good price/quality ratio

The hotel is really nice, in a very strategic position. Common space are nice and comfortable. Staff is very polite and available. Cleaning if the room is good.

Breakfast room absolutely not adeguate at the number of guests. We have to wait around 40 min to get in and be served. Not acceptable for the level of the hotel. Second point of attention is that if you book for 2 adults and 2 kids only 2 breakfasts are included and also the complementary stuff are only for 2 people. Again considering the price of the hotel I guess this is really a weak point.

Awesome hotel in great location.

Really cool vibe, lovely big beds, deluxe bathroom and balcony you can sit out on. Nice big room. The restaurant also had fantastic cocktails and food.

Cool Hotel in an even cooler city.

The neighborhood and location were great. Other things we loved about the hotel were the coffee shop in the lobby, the staff, the breakfast, the proximity to the train station, and just the overall feel of the hotel.

A good stay at Ace Hotel Kyoto!

I very much enjoyed the Japanese breakfast set very much. The plates were wiped clean during our 2-night stay: )

Lack of parking space, and sometimes the staff wanted to end the conversations much faster. Should offer valet parking as guests who stay here, are usually tourists who find parking stressful given the other cars follow closely behind you...

Total comfort

Such a comfortable stay. Location was perfect, easy to walk to the main areas of Kyoto and easy to get to from Osaka airport. Room was lovely and the bath was very appreciated after 30 hours of travelling. Really liked having the communal workspace/ cafe in the hotel. Would absolutely stay again.

Will only stay at The Ace Hotel next visit to Kyoto.

Wow. This hotel was my 2nd choice and now I’m glad I changed. We got lucky and got a room with a beautiful arch shaped window as well as an arch shaped detail over the door to our room. The room was large, modern and super comfortable. I loved everything about this room. Plus, we realized we needed to ship our luggage to Tokyo, and the staff was ÜBER helpful. They provided us with boxes to facilitate that move and did all the paperwork. The location was minutes from the train station and we could walk to other places. I can’t image staying anywhere else on my next visits to Kyoto.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Very poor customer service - bed and breakfast does not include breakfast for children though I paid, gives one bottle of water for a family at 3, room was not ready at 3 pm, staff incompetent etc

Fabulous hotel that is pricy but oh so cool!

We loved the location and the groovy vibe of the hotel. Our room was very large for a hotel stay in Kyoto. We loved the record turn table in the room and the guitar to play .. very rock n roll! The bath room had a bath tube which we didn't use but what a fabulous indulgence for a hotel room in Japan!

As guest we were unable to use the two bars for the weekend of our stay as booked out for private functions. This was very disappointing as we had booked The Ace for it's vibe and bars so we could kick off our weekend, so I doubt for the price that I I will book any Ace hotel again. Also, most hotels in Japan offered free PJ's for your stay, these were not offered on arrival and so I had to ask for them. My final frustration was with the the cafe downstairs, great coffee but never had enough pastries for the morning and usually had sold out by 8:30am on the days we were there, as most venues in Japan don't open till 11am this made for a hungry start to the day!

This property is fresh, clean and modern and in the most perfect location. 10/10 from me!

The property is incredibly beautiful and modern and in a fantastic location. The lobby is a communal space that is a pleasure to hang out in over a morning coffee from the in house coffee shop. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I was able to organise a late check out due to my transfer being later in the day. The room was spacious and super cute with a guitar and record player. There were lots of thoughtful touches such as a bench seat by the door with a shoe horn. The bed and pillows were ridiculously comfortable - I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Great minibar selection also.

Fabulous. Would love to return.

The amazingly helpful and friendly staff - such a great team. The beautiful design and well thought out rooms, we especially loved the record player, comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom and window seats. And the free bike hire in a v cycling friendly city.

We loved it all! A few more bikes maybe, but this place was very close to perfect for us and our two teens.

It was really nice. Have been to a few other Ace hotel locations and the Kyoto one is the best.

The design of the public space: the garden surrounded by shops; the gym; the breakfast restaurant. Staff were very friendly. It's more international than some of the other options, feeling like we could interact with the others more openly.

Would love to have wellness related amenities / services.

Love to coming anytime soon!

I like the vibe the hotel provide for international travelers to experience both East and west style. The in-room dining experience is excellent with the very well thought mini bar for providing us a beautiful landing experience.

Location and access to transport and the rest of the city was excellent. The rooftop bar was also lovely!

Breakfast was nice enough but options were very limited and very samey. The rooftop bar was also quite small and busy and so having a drink in your own hotel bar was not a given - reservations required at times!

WOW!!!

The restaurants and Bar are excellent. The atmosphere in the lobby and the staffs were very professional. Directly connected to the fancy shopping mall.

The location is in the middle which means that you can go either side. However, it was too hot to walk to the tourist destination in the summer.
