Cleaning is everyday,they change bed and towels everyday. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Due to low season not so many people are staying here. Swimming pool is terrific. Location is perfect, far from noisy road. Stuff is friendly, but it is a bit hard to explain something in English to them.

Small ants are everywhere. You should be careful with snacks and fruits, they just cover food in few seconds

The stay was pleasant, cleaning services are given everyday, the aircon was great too, not loud at all. We stayed there

The place is a 10 minute walk from the beach. The location is good if you want to get a feel of local life.

There were PLENTY empty room but we were put in the room right by the “gate” (there really isn’t a gate)

perfect for the price!

We both had a really nice and memorable stay at Baan Chay Lay. Personally, we felt it was better than the rating on booking.com - it isn’t luxurious but it has everything you need and more, nice views, good/safe location and very friendly staff. The staff were so friendly and hospitable which made the stay amazing. If you enjoy falling asleep to rain, perfect place! The housekeeper offers to clean your room everyday and provides new towels, if you wish!

Exceptional experience

I stayed here for 3 days then extended for more. I loved it. the room is equipped with an electric stove, a toaster, kittle, cooking set, cutlery and a coffe machine make sure you bring your own dolce capsules we couldn't find any in nearby shops. the view from the balcony is beautiful and the rooms are clean. I'm extending my stay even more worth the money. There is no elevator but it wasn't a problem for us. The place is safe. the closest seven eleven and family mart is in walking distance. for laundry we used the washing machines outside the building for 30 baht a wash. the neighborhood wakes up early there will be early noise but it is expected for a place in this location. the staff is caring and always available for help. there is a pool too.

Not bad for 1-2 nights.

Nice staff, room is pretty big, fresh sheets, towels, kettle in the room, TV. Nice balcony.

The location is little bit wrong. You should go more deep about 300 meters from main road. What was really important for me. But it's not huge problem. Another thing, that day when I was staying the neighbor of this hotel start to burn old leaves and it was very smokey at place. I don't know about it's every day or not. But smoke was even inside room. So, I left earlier, owner gave me money back for that days. Owner said they already asked to not burn, but it's still like that. I understand it's not fault exactly this hotel, but to stay with that smoke is unhealthy.

Amazing value for money, stay in the studio apartment!

This place was everything we needed for our time in Karon. It’s kept so clean!! we stayed in the studio apartment and it was perfectly equipped with everything we needed to cook for 4 days. The staff were friendly, the air con was great, the wifi was so fast, our room was serviced every day which was a wonderful touch.

the only flaw was the bed and sofa are very hard. this seems to be a common thing in Thailand so we weren’t too disheartened, but a mattress topper would go a long way 😊

Great value, local style hotel

This is a basic hotel and for what we paid we couldn't ask for or expect more, it's excellent value. It has everything you need, was clean and the staff are as helpful as they could be. Good WiFi. About 10-15 minute walk to the beach in a quiet quite residential area.

Some of the facilities could do with some basic maintenance - our shower worked but the holder was broken and 'fixed' with some plastic string. To check in you have to call the number on the desk, which is problematic if you don't have a local phone. The bed was very very firm.

They most welcoming host we have ever had. She was genuinely caring and helped us with so many things, she went above and beyond anything you would expect or even hope a hotel manager would do. It was lovely to have a room straight out onto the pool, everything was kept very clean. It is in a lovely little local area and not to far to walk to the beach.

Quiet great location for Karon beautiful. Patong only a 20min tuk tuk ride 300 baht if you want a crazy night.
