The staff were all very nice and it was clean. We only went to reception once, but it was nice. Breakfast was good with the staff being very efficient. Dinner at Mother's was very good. We chose here because we could return our rental car right across the street. The Embassy is a very nice building, but the surrounding area was pretty disappointing. The homeless were not a problem at all, it's just very dirty. We actually skipped some places because of the trashy places we would need to walk through.
The suite we had was beautiful, but the suite next to us had the TV on 24 hours a day. We stayed 2 nights and were up throughout both nights due to the noise level. I tried turning on the bathroom exhaust fan to drown it out, but there was none. I turned the thermostat up or down just to get the fan to cover the noise a bit. We called the front desk the second night, but it didn't seem to help. Some quiet hours maybe? We were happy to be leaving.

Wonderful old hotel that has been modernized, and a fine job done. Son loved the pool area, and I was impressed m’y the new gym.
The parking is a tad sketchy, and the area is plagued by street disorder currently.

Omg... I would not stop bragging about this place. Service was exceptional from the front desk personnel to the pool attendant, who was absolutely amazing. Breakfast was fresh and super tasty. Definitely will come back.
There was an incident with Scott, who is one of the valet parking attendants. He was so rude and at one point mocking me and my daughter, saying horrible remarks, but Joey was absolutely amazing, giving us suggestions for dinner. Thanks, Joey!!

We liked the hotel and the lounge on the 3rd floor for drinks / appetizers and breakfast. The river was very pretty across from the hotel. We walked to Morton’s Steak House for dinner. We walked in the morning time along the river.
I would have liked to see a real gift shop to buy fun Portland stuff and basic essentials. Why? They had a huge convention going on. Missed opportunity to sell additional things to the guests. The trip to Target (a few blocks away) was a bit scary with many homeless people around. There were 3 armed police officers as you entered Target. We were in and out quick!!

Dolly at the front desk was amazing! We had a problem with our room and she reassigned us to a different room which was wonderful. She took the time to listen to our concerns and she made us feel welcome and comfortable.
Our first room had no air conditioning during a very hot summer day. We were quickly reassigned to a new room.

The breakfast was good and so was the location
I have stayed at many of The Embassy’s before including this one downtown. It was not what it used to be. There is nothing in the rooms to give you information, like pool hours, where things in the hotel are located. We had to keep calling or texting to ask questions that should be available in the rooms. Ours second bed option was a hide a bed with the mattress where the springs were sticking out. For how much we were charged for a room the second need option spoils be comfortable. There was no hospitality or customer service. Everything had to be figured out ourselves and there was never no staff around to help or ask questions. The hot tub was disgusting with chunks of skin and things floating around in it. I was very disappointed and will never stay again

The staff was very kind and very efficient. We also thought the rooms and the beds were very comfortable. Lastly, the breakfast was great. The gentleman that makes the omelets was fun and was very good at his job.
The jacuzzi was out of service and the water in the pool was very cold.

The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. Location was convenient for walking the city.
The room and the hotel were grungy, the bathroom door wouldn't close. I have been staying there for 15 years when I come to Portland and the prices have doubled . Parking $45 a day. This was my last stay at the Embassy.

The breakfast was superb like the buffet style with many variations.
I stayed before at another hotel, and the only thing that I missed was the self-serve waffles
Everything was great.
The swimming pool was a bit cooler than I expected.

Breakfast was good. Water was hot.
Room furniture was old and beaten up. In need of serious refresh. Not worth premium price. Highly disappointed. Pictures do not reflect actual room.

Breakfast was wonderful,
Hotel was beautiful. King bed was very comfortable.
We picked this hotel for the pool and the pool was freezing. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress felt old and worn down.

Our family enjoyed the location to all local downtown attractions.
Our apartment suite was comfortable and spacious.
Breakfast and complimentary drinks made our stay extraordinary.
Our family could not enjoy the pool due to the exorbitant amount of people in the pool area regularly our entire stay.

large room; lovely lobby; free hot breakfast
The corners of the bathroom could have been cleaned better; the extra blanket I requested looked like it had been chewed by a lion and spit out. The free evening drink was in a sub basement, which wasn’t very nice.

1. I book hotels if they have a hot tub. Theirs was broken the first time I tried (no heat) and the next day, I see this. The gray slime around the edge grossed me out and didn't check to see if this was clean or operational the rest of my visit. Yuk.
2. Stayed there a week. Two requests and a voice mail for cleaning my room went nowhere. Finally cleaned on day 4. It shouldn't be that hard. Room thermostat was broken. Had to get the shower drain snaked.
3. At least two sides of this hotel are SF Tenderloin level of homeless encampments, see my view from the king suite. I had to valet my car since I didn't think the numerous surface lots would be safe with the homeless activity, as I saw very few cars parked there at night.
4. The only way to use their car charger is valet at $55 a day. Two times the charger was broken.

It was a beautiful hotel inside.
I didnt like that when i walked out the front doors i watched 5 people buy drugs and 1 person get stabbed.

The staff were wonderful and responsive. The breakfast was amazing!
The bed was so hard we had to get extra blankets and comforters to avoid waking up 10 times a night. The room windows are bolted shut so you can't open them and the room temperature didn't go low enough or reach the bedroom so we were sweating all night despite it being cold outside. We were able to get a fan from the front desk which was helpful.

The staff were freaking amazing. The room was really nice too. Amenities like breakfast and happy hour were really nice too. Thank you!
It was wonderful. The location was challenging, but nothing Hilton can do about that except join the fight for social justice, improved mental health, and housing stability. 🙏
