Looking forward to my next visit to the Lone Pine area and staying at the Dow.

Old hotel room was surprisingly comfortable especially with the old fashioned radiator. I Great location for all the local attractions.

Good for a one night stay.

It was the last room available anywhere and we got the room for a good price. Good for a one night stay.

Rooms definitely need updated and the bed was very uncomfortable. But we stayed in a smaller room and it was the last available so I get it.

A good place to stay if you are visiting Mt Whitney (and its surrounding areas).

Overall, it is a very nice hotel to stay. Location is perfect for visiting Mt Whitney.

They double charged me initially. After making three phone calls, they finally corrected the issue.

Clean, comfortable rooms in an historic hotel full of movie memorabilia.

Nice old historic building with lots of Western movie memorabilia (including a John Wayne "shrine"). Late 50's - early 60's style decor. Clean and comfortable and cozy.

The shower was quite small for me, especially with the soap/shampoo dispensers in the stall. Sink is located separate from the bathroom with relatively little space for toiletries.

Cowboy country, home of most western movies, nice historic hotel with 24/7 pool access

Lone Pine is in the heart of cowboy country and the Alabama Hills make this location wonderful and special. Locals are nice, food is fine, the hotel has a great historic vibe, cosy common areas, lots of extra features like non-stop free coffee, TV, board games. Staff was helpful and nice. The pool is also 24/7 open.

Another wonderful stay at the historic Dow Villa!

The Dow Villa has a wonderful historic vibe that makes staying here a lot of fun. The bed was very comfortable. It is centrally located close to several restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Proximity to Mt. WHITNEY

Ac very weak with no control by occupant. Tiny bathroom . No counter space around sink. Claustrophobic shower.

Meh.

Room was too hot. Their instructions for cooling the room (open the window) on the ground floor with Hwy 395 traffic up and down all night was just not a good solution. Rather than turning off the building air conditioning on a 90+ day, perhaps they could run it well into the early morning hours.

Historical Location...I wonder how many Movie Stars have stayed in my room since 1923. Enjoy the History.

Since it is old and a Historical Location my room was a bit small for two people, but manageable, to be in the Dow is an honor.

A hotel that is 100 years old

It is an historic hotel, with the motel beside it, together they definitely look the smartest place to stay in Lone Pine. I presume if you want a spacious motel room and large bed you need to book into the motel side of the hotel, but if you like a quirky experience, then the hotel is for you. Our room was clean and tidy but quite small with a dated bath/shower. We chose to stay in the hotel over the motel, knowing it wouldn’t be just another motel room.

The shower was rather variable in temperature, sometimes very hot and then cold. Would have been safer to have a bath. The bed was a small double, but perhaps we should have realised that.

Comfortable

The bed was cozy, room clean and stuff really friendly. Everything was great. Beginning with smooth check-in, comfortable room and perfect location. Room has everything you need - shampoo, conditioner, a bar of soap, towels, TV, mirrors with good lighting. There is coffee service and nice common room to chill.

Bathtub needs an update. But there is no tragedy.

Lone Pine Historic Dow Hotel

The hotel was clean, convenient, and historical.

The bed was terrible. A panel in my room fell off in the middle of the night waking me up and scaring me plum to death. The heat was regulated by the front desk.

Super cool historic property with nicely maintained room with a few upgrades like a nice TV and wi-fi that don’t spoil the charm. We stayed in the historic hotel, not the motor lodge. Comfy bed. Good hot shower. Located right in the middle of Lone Pine and close walk to restaurants and other attractions. If you are expecting a modern chain type motel, you may be disappointed. If you are expecting history, charm, comfort, and top notch staff, you’ll love this place! We do! Convenient ice machine with water bottle filling machine next to it downstairs is a super added amenity. The lobby itself is a work of art! If the weather is nice, don’t miss the quiet hidden courtyard for a relaxing spot.

Really nothing. There are plenty of things a modern traveler could nit pick about a hotel built 100 years ago but you’d be missing the point of staying here. This place is a gem!
