Location is excellent. Is close to all the sites to see in the colonial side. The building where is located is beautiful and full of history. The hotel let us had a late check out.

The room had a bad smell and the bathroom was totally flooded in the morning. Breakfast buffet was not very good. I wouldn't recommend to stay here.

The Staff and their professionalism. Truly a welcoming attitude and they went above & beyond for my Family. I will most definitely make this boutique Hotel my mainstay in DR.

I booked a 4 night stay at the Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando. However, due to my changed schedule I had to depart the country. I was told that I would be fully refunded for the other nights but it had now been 2 months and the full refund was not received.

wonderful hotel! quaint & charming; centrally located for the colonial zone for sightseeing and restaurants; right across the street from the cruise terminal; late check-in was no problem; friendly accommodating staff; breakfast was excellent; nice pool to relax after sightseeing; wish I could stay in this kind of hotel on our next trip

Hotel wished to be paid in USD but then had no change in USD First room allocated was windowless and smelt musty with damp Bar staff too busy on their smartphones to see that there were customers to attend There were not sufficient toiletries in the bathroom. When I called reception I was not attended and called again. Same result. I was only attended when I called on the hotel outside line The hot water was tepid not hot Wi-Fi was intermittent in the room When at 8pm I asked to see a manager was told none was available until the morning

The only positive side of the hotel was the fact that it is located in the zona colonial.

The staff don’t speak English and make no effort to do so. They react “allergic” to people who don’t speak Spanish. The metal stairs of the pool had sharp metal pieces and my daughter got wounded in her foot to the point that it heavily bled. The breakfast was of very low quality. The hotel as well as the room had no maintenance and for instance the flush of the toilet was falling off. The mattresses at the pool were old and not maintained. The money for value ratio is absolutely below anything I have encountered. This is at best a 3 star hotel by western standards. Stay away from this place.
