Nice location.

Really nice hotel with one of the largest lobbies ever with shops and restaurants. It’s close to where you can take water-cruise boats and it’s close to Osaka Castle.

Great location, dated rooms

The location is exceptional, very close to the Osaka Castle and the JR metro line. The hotel itself is very large and has several restaurants and other facilities. We had a wonderful view towards the castle. The buffet breakfast is very complete and very good, with both oriental and western options.

The rooms feel old, the mattresses were not very comfortable and the bathroom was inferior than bathrooms in similar hotels across Japan. Service is correct but not friendly. Not enough space for clothes in the room. Not even a stand or place for the suitcases.

Incredible location, beautiful hotel, most staff were amazing.

Incredibly convenient location with a great view of Osaka castle.

Breakfast buffet was ordinary. Especially for the price.

Great location, good hotel, outdated views

The hotel is beautiful, great location and the breakfast is good. We booked 2 nights but decided to stay for 3. The suite we had for the first 2 nights was lovely with a view to Osaka Castle, quite spacious and beautiful layout. Unfortunately, the room we had for our last night was the cheapest one and looked a little like a motel room and quite tired looking.

The breakfast was nice but paying $26 for a 2 year old to have a banana was a little too much. We also used the pool which was nothing like the photo but more like a backyard pool. Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant experience as tattooed guests, and initially not allowed entrance ( it felt a little discriminatory as we were clearly not Japanese and not part of any gang). After some discussion we got to use the pool if covered with a long sleeved shirt.

Quiet stay in a luxury hotel

The New Otani Hotel in nicely located, next to Osaka Castle, away from the hectic of Osaka city and good connections within a hand’s reach. The rooms are very comfortable and for breakfast their is ample choice for everyone, either in a continental breakfast or Japanese breakfast.

Very helpful staff and a great view

The staff at the hotel are exceptionally welcoming from the moment you arrive. The location is great and the view from the room is beautiful. The hotel lobby is very impressive.

The bathrooms require upgrading. This was the only hotel throughout my visit to Japan that offered minimal bathroom supplies.

Would stay here again

Staff were amazing, very attentive and smiling from the moment you walk in the front door to the moment you leave. Great location, close to metro, Osaka castle and a short metro ride to other attractions. Breakfast was good

We stayed for 3 nights and opposite the hotel on the other side of the canal is a small entertainment centre. On 2 of the nights there were concerts happening and the spotlights on the outside of the venue were on until late and it did a little ruin the night view from our room especially of Osaka castle.

Beautiful hotel in heart of Osaka, where you get nice view of Osaka Castle

Spacious hotel room, bigger than usual Japan hotel rooms. Complimentary welcome drinks and excellent check in service. Luggage was send to hotel before our arrival and they are send up to our room before we even check in our rooms.

The hotel is very comfortable and offers plenty of facilities. It is a short walk to public transport.

Superb

The room is spacious and clean with a view of the park and at the far corner Osaka castle is also visible. There is a train station with-in 5 mins but we usually take taxi going around.

The bedding is not too comfortable in my opinion.

Beautiful view of the castle, nice big room, comfortable attached bathroom, and excellent service and staff.

I wish that there was a public bath or spa that was included in the rate.

A good hotel made even better by the courteous staff and Guest Relations in particular.

Good position with open space around it and great castle views.

The bathrooms are beginning to look a little ’tired’’ compared to the rest of the hotel.
