Hotel looks clean

The hotel didn’t have the room type we reserved available at the time when we checked in (around 8 pm). We need a room with two queen beds as we have 2 adults and 2 kids in our party. But they only had a room with one king bed and one small sofa bed left. They said the room type is first come first serve, so even we reserved it, it’s not guaranteed we would get it. This is the first time we hear this kind of hotel policy. Hyatt Place Page is definitely unique in their room policies! With long drive, we really need a good rest. With only one bed, we wouldn’t get the rest we need. Even though they offered a room with view with no additional cost, this was really not what we need. This would not be comfortable for us to stay for two nights! So we decided to cancel our booking and booked a nearby hotel that offered a room with two queen beds! Most of the good hotels were fully occupied that night, so our options were limited. But luckily we were able to find one room at La Quinta Inn nearby and settled down at 9:00 pm.

Das Hotel ist noch ziemlich neu und die Einrichtung war modern. Die Terrasse auf der Rückseite des Hotel ganz gemütlich mit Rattanmöbeln und Abends einer Feuerstelle. Das hat uns gut gefallen.

Wir haben leider alles ein bisschen besser erwartet. Die Lage ist nicht so top. Der Ausblick auf die Landschaft ist eher karg. Den Lake Powell kann man nicht sehen, auch nicht aus der Ferne. Das Hotel ist leider ein Betonklotz und auch drum herum fehlt es an Deko und Gemütlichkeit. Die Zimmer waren nicht sehr frisch und sauber und man konnte die Fenster nicht öffnen, obwohl das Hotel nur 3 oder 4 Etagen hat. Das Frühstücksbuffet war mittelmässig bis eher schlecht. Wir hatten schon einige bessere und ordentlichere Buffets in den USA. Zu wenig Tische für die vielen Gäste und es wurde auch oft nicht abgeräumt oder sauber gemacht. Der Pool ist viel zu klein und leider auch in einem nicht einladenden "Beton" Style gehalten. Wir empfanden das Personal ziemlich desinteressiert und teilweise zu gestresst. Auf den Bildern im Internet kommt das Hotel viel besser rüber, leider eine Enttäuschung, schade.

Petite piscine, petit déjeuner moyen pas de grande qualité. Au milieu de nulle part.

New nice building, small pool outside.

Our room was not clean. When we complained about it no action was taken. The fridge in the room which we needed did not work, it was solved but not in a very friendly way. Not enough towels for our family of 6 in the room. We forgot an item after leaving, they told us there policy is not to provide service for goods forgotten by customers.
