Good value and spacious but you need a car

The apartment is conveniently located and is really spacious. We were only two people but the apartment could’ve easily hosted more. There is ample free parking which is great since you really need a car in Monteverde. The apartment is a 20 minute walk into town but the roads are incredibly steep and it is only a 5-10 minute drive to Curicancha reserve. There are plenty of glasses, plates etc. for you to use and the tap water is fine to drink. The host was polite and allowed us to check out late due to us wanting to watch the World Cup final.

We didn’t realise that it was not a serviced apartment so bins weren’t changed and fresh towels etc. for three nights it was fine but any longer then we would’ve preferred a serviced place. We found it to be incredibly loud during the night time, lots of banging in the wind and dogs barking meaning our sleep was very disturbed. The bed in the main bedroom wasn’t particularly comfortable (very firm) and creaked a lot when you moved. The apartment does not have any basic condiments or coffee and there is only a two ring electric hob really restricting what you can cook. For three nights we ended up eating out most of the time since it wasn’t worth buying all of the basic ingredients and two hobs with no oven restricts what you can cook anyway.

Felt like you were in the forest from the balcony, lots of space for the rooms.

A bit out of Santa Elena if you don't have a car, about a 20 minute hilly walk. Needed some lamps in the room.

Worked out great for us. Served our needs at an affordable price.

It's just what we needed for my wife and me and our 2 adult daughters. My wife and I had our own room and my daughters flipped a coin to see who would get the second bedroom and who would get the couch.

It was a bit hard to see from the road which building was the actual property.

This was my fourth time staying at Moon Forest, I highly recommend it!

Love the location! It's close in to Santa Elana, but the way the units are situated, you feel like you're out in the forest.

The kitchen has all the basics and great work space -- plenty of counter top -- and a great view out the large windows over the double sink, but food prep tools were a little sketchy. We had to ask for paper towels or napkins.

Liked the location, a little out of town but walkable distance and you are close to plenty of sights and facilities nearby anyway. Apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. Staff were able to help us with any questions.

Be prepared, it is quite cold here and there are no heating facilities in the apartment. But there is hot water. Walk from here to town does include some steep inclines so bare that in mind if you plan to walk to town.

Private well equipped appartment at the heart of Monteverde

Peaceful appartment, it was located at 2nd floor, all windows facing nature. Rain in the afternoon after a long walk at the National Park was very relaxing.

Nice place to stay in heart of Monte Verde, all the attractions (cloud forest etc.)are very close

If you’ll go there by car, you will definitely need 4x4 SUV, way to parking area is really unfriendly for small cars
