Resortanlage in einer Grossstadt

Pool-/Gartenanlage, Sauberkeit/Austattung in Zimmer, genügend Parkplätze, Fitnessstudio, freundliches Personal

Sanitäre Anlagen teilweise in marodem Zustand bzw. ungenügend unterhalten, teilweise sehr junge Mitarbeitende an Reception, die Dienst nach Vorschrift machen (vermutlich nicht mit genügend Entscheidungs-/Handlungsspielraum ausgestattet), nicht sehr auf internationale Gäste eingestellt (auch wieder eine Frage von Ausbildung/Einsrbeitung oder Folgeerscheinung der Pandemie, trotzdem freundlich und bemüht). Wasserqualität im Pool fragwürdig (Kinderschwimmkurse. und Gruppentourismus einer Universität). Trotzdem mehreren negativen Aspekten ist das Novotel im Resortstil ziemlich einzigartig in Surabaya. Die meisten 4 und 5 Sterne Hotels sind als Hochhäuser konzentriert und verfügen nicht über Balkon.

Beautiful hotel ,needs a little maintanance,pool mainly staff were excellent, they allowed us to check in early as my child was so tired, they were accommodating with all of our request, will definitely return, makasih novatel🙏😊

I don’t think I would comeback

Huge room and I like the staff who helping me set up extra bed and the staff at the breakfast restaurant. They are very friendly and very helpful.

There is no one at the front door so don’t expect you get help for carrying your luggage from your car to the lobby which there is stairs case. The check in stuff was just okay. When I went to the room there is no towel so I had to ask the staff for towel and the towel it was so old and worn out. Lots of mosquitoes in the room. The room was huge which is nice but there is stain on my pillow cases. Breakfast very poor quality bubur ayam and the fried rice are very salty. And there is not much option for western except toast and omelette.

Pleasant resort style hotel, free wifi, decent breakfast with a good mix of options. Good location with food options nearby. Felt safe as there were security guards around. Staff are super polite, friendly and helpful!

It's obviously a very old hotel which hasn't been maintained. Whilst the staff are polite, helpful and very friendly, the hotel needs some serious updating. In terms of the rooms, it was generally clean, but it has not been maintained to the best standard (e.g. lizard poop, stained towels, trash bin broken, holes in the sofa..etc). The pool hasn't been cleaned for a while too. However, if you are not picky, want the basics covered and looking to stay on a budget, in a decent location, then Novotel is for you.

- The hotel confirmed four rooms for us next to each other. In reality our rooms were location di different areas of the hotel - We asked for extra beds in three rooms, when we arrived none of the extrabed was setup in the room - The pool was super dirty - The pool bar was closed - We need to walked to different areas of the hotel to find pool towels. When we met one restaurant staff, he rudely said 'you can only have two towels'. Of course we know this policy!

old ceiling with weird -kind of dust- waste furniture (not ergonomic, don’t even know the purpose of the wardrobe door that keeps hurting my toes (as I said before not ergonomic) the bathroom doors that also hard to open- close because the handle untouchable hehe the towels also old and smelly

Not really sure what happen when I open the room dor my hed have no bed cover like usually they cover with big bed cover? I always stay here for couple day every time I'm back to surabaya for pleasure with family and also they don't supply aa usual bar soap and shampoo with the single bottle anymore just a big liquid soap and shampoo in 1 place that is not convenient to reach too, so many changes not really please with the changes 😕 And also for breakfast is no longer much choices of indonesian meals 😕 too. I be rethink from now to stay back here, so sorry 😞 why is less and less while we paid bit more than before? Please stay up for the all nick nack that guest need!! just little advice Thanks otherwise everything is general rate 😐😕😐

Our 2nd home in Surabaya

We have been coming here for over 25 years. The layout, the gardens, and rooms are nice.

Love it, but...

ALL staff fabulous and friendly.

I've stayed here many times before and this hotel holds many special memories for me and my family, but post-COVID it's needing a bit of love and care. Would love the pool-side pizzeria and kids' pool slide to return. The apartment block looks to be in need of some renovation. I hope it's just a matter of time before this lovely hotel returns to its best 😊

comfortable one night stay to get us situated in East Java

pool was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.

it seemed to be a bit rundown, the pool could have used a cleaning, water damage in the rooms and throughout the property

My review

That it's not like a any tall building kind of hotel. Everything is easy to access.

The wi-fi speed was on the low side (5 Mbps average) and it'd be nice if it was at least 50 Mbps. For travelers or maybe content creators a decent internet speed is a must. I don't know if the AC filter in my room has been serviced or cleaned but, thanks to it i've been coughing ever since. The room looks clean but it can be cleaner in some spots like under the bed, behind the tv, i saw some tapes on the wall, and etc. Overall i'd give my stay as a solo traveller 8.5/10

Misleading marketing.

Staff were polite and friendly and house keeping did a good job.

Unfortunately the website does not reflect the hotel. There is no bar i.e. its a dry hotel, the gym was closed, there is no pool table and the tennis courts were closed. There are no animal enclosures as per the photos on the website so overall pretty disappointing. The swimming pool was very cloudy which leads one to think the pump is not sufficient and they do not manage the mosquitos which is easily done. Using covid as an excuse is now outdated. The management have let this potentially good hotel down.
