A gentleman’s residence

Beautifully designed property with spacious and ultra comfortable bedrooms and common areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Splendid grounds.

Great stay

Comfortable beds but small rooms Restaurant and food was good however the breakfast staff needed additional assistance. Check-in was great and informative

Lovely, welcoming lodge - staff are very friendly!

All of the staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home and part of the community. Nothing was too much trouble - we landed late from a long-haul flight and the kitchen stayed open for us and gave us such a warm welcome. Maria Fernanda helped us organise transport and tours in advance and patiently helped with all my questions. Will drove us everywhere and added extra stops that he thought we would like. The property is lovely and has lovely trails. Food is great (particularly the salad and chicken!!). thank you!

It might be good to have a lunch option, but it really wasn’t an issue for us. Breakfast could be a bit quicker with people trying to get out early - again though, it really wasn’t an issue for us (we just had fruit and granola when we were in a hurry, which worked perfectly).

we loved the lodge and liked it was so different from our other accommodations we booked in Costa Rica.

loved the main lodge, breakfast was excellent hiking trail was also nice

too many cow pies on the hiking trails laundry wasn’t available for free

Beautiful hotel; good for the soul!

This hotel is a heaven on earth. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. The rooms are spacious and quite. Breakfast was great but you should also try their dinner menu - everything we tried was delicious. There are many areas in the property where you can enjoy the views and nature. Try their own walking trails on the property!

Nice stay in the cooler mountain area

Perfect location for visiting Vulcano Poas of the waterfall gardens. The beautiful flowers around the lodge and the nice porch in front of our room.

Exceptional

This place was perfect for my husband and 7 year old daughter. The food was out of this world (the included breakfast was plentiful, healthy and delicious) and the dinner we had was way above expectations. A wonderful unexpected perk we’re the three hiking trails that zigzag across the dairy farm and through some old growth forest with stunning views of Poas volcano and the lush landscape. I highly recommend this place!

This is a wonderful location when in the area!

We stayed at the Volcano Lodge for two nights with the primary purpose being to visit the crater. It was a wonderful choice as the lodge has several hikes nearby and very good breakfast and dinner options. The lodge lobby and grounds are a wonderfully comfortable.

it was nice enough to go there again, but we would choose a room in the main building as opposed to the sheds outside.

boutique style hotel close to Poas National Park and La Paz Waterfalls; great food and lovely atmosphere; very green and embedded in nature;

no one helped us with our luggage when we checked in (difficult dragging 2 suitcases over the gravel paths); our room had some sort of rodents in the walls or on the roof which kept us awake both nights we were there - I don’t mind animals, but it was VERY loud.

great walks! very helpful staff. nice breakfast with local strawberries.

as mostly in a cloud, hard to get visibility of the volcano which is the reason to visit. not very well located for transfers. lacks atmosphere, could use some music or to light the fires to create warmth.

The lodge was fabulous in every way!

Located with a lovely view of Poas Volcano, the room in the main lodge was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The restaurant staff served the best food of our three week stay in Costa Rica.
