Would have much preferred another hotel. Very bad value. Basically it all came down to our terrible bedroom for what we

The shower and bed were good. Reasonable location. Front staff eventually very good, F & B staff very good, dinner and breakfast good

We had the worst room, 3rd floor, construction outside our bedroom window so couldn’t have curtains drawn. No good information in room about facilities in hotel, TV hard to use. No luggage rack, no towel racks to hang wet towels, laundry price way over the top. Needs a lot of overhauling, very old and tired building,no automatic front entrance door,concierge do their best but haven’t got much written information to give out, definetly definetly not a 4* hotel. Price of our room was very very expensive for what we got.

The staff, the accommodations and location couldn’t be much better

The helpful staff, especially at breakfast. The accommodations were better than we had hope for and it’s central location to Pier 21 and so on was a bonus

The evening check-in desk person lied to me when he said that the hotel only did dry cleaning; so nice the next morning I was told the hotel offers BOTH services. I ended up paying much more than I needed to to get my laundry done.

Pleasant.

The breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and efficient.

The closet in the room was horrible. The light came on when the door was opened and shut off when closed which meant it had to be wedged or you were in the dark if the door closed behind you. It also smelled stale.

It was a hotel bedroom with a good view. It was well located for walking along the boardwalk and with access to a range of restaurants.

Great location but not great value for your stay. The rooms really need to be updated for the price

The location of the hotel was great, close to the Halifax harbour front and great restaurants. It also has a grocery store and liquor store next to it for easy snack and drink pick ups to have in the hotel. There is also a Starbucks located in the grocery store..

The rooms were quite small and the beds were not great. The hotel carpet needs to be updated and the bathrooms were very outdated. It felt small and cramped with 3 people. There was also a wedding on the Saturday night at the music played very loudly until almost 2am.

The main areas of the hotel are spectacular...restaurant, bar, lobby etc...

The room was dingy and DARK... The bathroom has no fan and the ceilings are yellowed Quite disappointed in the room

The receptionist. Before she used my credit card to do the pre-authorized of room charges. She didn't even tell me how much she was going to pre-authorized from my bank ? What was the total amount coming from ? That was not professional at all !

Good location; bathrooms need updating; staff need training.

Great Breakfast; too few staff. Not able to seat people on Sunday morning in a reasonable time.

No concierge and staff had too little knowledge of what to do, or restaurants to suggest. Not helpful to first time visitors.

Very good

The location was great the staff was terrific. Lee, the concierge and Parking coordinator was extreme helpful, in giving us direction and helping us insure a safe trip ahead. He was very cafing and efficient. A r3al asset to the hotel! Generally, all the staff were great. The Hotel location is perfect

Great location and excellent staff.

Room was fine and bed was comfortable. Nice location near the Waterfront.

Great location for the Ocean Train. Also, waterfront close by. Great food service and fantastic buffet breakfast.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The building is well maintained and clean.

Location was good and well situated and comfortable

Variety of food was good but some could have been fresher eg. eggs Benedict and mini danishes.

Was a big letdown.

The bed was very comfortable

The pool and pool room was very dirty and looked like it was falling apart, the room had someone else’s dirty sock left in it, our allergies acted up due to the dust, the cable television kept cutting in and out so we couldn’t watch tv, coffee in the room was really gross, overall it was extremely over priced for an experience that was at best mediocre. Highly disappointing.

Food was pretty good despite a disappoint menu. Staff in the restaurant were friendly.

I booked a late check out and paid for it. Despite this, my card keys were cancelled. After I got new keys, the cleaning crew kept knocking on my door (more than 5 times to get me to leave). I was in the middle of a presentation in front of 2000 people and had to stop as the noise was so loud. Very embarrassing. No coffee two days in a row. Didn’t clean the coffee machine.

Amazing staff, great location, love this hotel and will be back!

The staff are amazing! super friendly and helpful! night manager is A1 and found me the perfect room for my stay (Thank you so much again!)

I wish I didn’t have to get my room changed (asked for a quiet room as a special request) and was assigned a room on the same floor as a travelling hockey team (jr hockey tournament) but the night manager worked his magic and found me the perfect room and they moved me (just wish I didn’t have to bother him and spend time re-packing to change rooms)

horrible. i will never go back.

i like the historical feel.. lobby is nice ..

pool was not fit to swim in. water cloudy like milk. same with hot tub. walls too thin and people staying beside us were very loud all hours of the night keeping us up, when we complained several times all they did was switch us to another room the second night that was also loud, and refund a $30 valet fee. Rooms need to be upgraded .
