it was a long walk from the station with luggage. without luggage it would have been no issue. I didn’t know the bus system well enough to know I should have taken one. on the map it didn’t seem far enough to warrant a taxi

Location is perfect, close to places we planned to go. I love the coffee maker in the room, freshly brewed coffee in the morning is great!

water drips in the bathtub floor when using the shower head. I have to keep myself aware and try not to let the water runs down on the side of the tub because i don’t like the floor getting wet. bathroom is old but clean.

We visited Yamagata with family. The stay is hotel was superb. The hotel is equipped with all the necessary items. It is close to city center.

The grand hotel is 'grand' it has a western high class aesthetic and the staff uniforms convey the grandiose feeling of the entire place. The room we had was very spacious and had everything we needed. The coffee facilities were the best we have had in Japan. Over that last month.

The location of the hotel can be a bit challenging to get.to if you arrive in Yamagata by Train. It's a bit of a walk and a bit of a drive should you manage to get a taxi.

Great location, friendly staff, clean, and comfortable hotel! Parking next door for extra fee. Washing machine on site. 30 minutes from Zao Onsen Skiing Resort.

The only reason i'm not giving a 10 is because I chose this specific hotel because of the private onsen(since one of us has tattoos) but it was closed and he wasn't able to enjoy it after a long day of skiing

Good Location. You can go by bus from Yamagata station. Easy to walk to Gotenzeki for good Soba and Ice cream!

The room is spacious and clean

I didn't like that there is no information ahead of time that I have to present vaccination proof or else we will not be able to check in. We lost a lot of our time just to find a proof of my vaccination certificate.

We love the variety meals we can choose for breakfast (local foods was delicious!). Location was great walking distance to restaurants and Kajo park. There is an Izakaya restaurant/Yamagata street food nearby the hotel. The hotel is 15 minute walk from the train station. Helpful staffs, managed to booked transport for us (11pax) on the new year's day! 30 minute drive to Zao Ropeway to visit snow monster (Must visit in winter) 1 hour drive to Ginzan Onzen (Can skip this-Not suitable to bring kids) Washing machine and vending machine was good to have on our 5th floor.

Its old hotel but its clean, basic and has it charm.

The staff were really professional and helpful. They were able to assist in printing of documents at the front counter.

Reception Staff were very polite, helpful and quick to react. The hotel is in central location and there are a few bikes available!
