About this houserental

Located in San Diego, this charming house for $364 per night is a great option for your next vacation. A personal note to my guests. . . I created this tropical hideaway to help me relax and reset. I have recently put my heart into a thoughtful refurbishment of this property, to create an environment that I'm confident will be relaxing for you as well. It’s my sincere wish that you enjoy it as much as I do. Here are some highlights worth note: A pleasing open floor plan that flows beautifully to the outdoor spaces gives a nod to San Diego’s famously mild climate. A fountain and super exotic Kentia palm take center stage through a huge picture window looking out to the courtyard. The living room has an oversize wood-burning fireplace you’ll be tempted to light, even though it’s rarely needed for warmth. A sofa of buttery hand stitched Italian leather, and a silky Minotti Italian rug are sure to be a treat. A pair of the most comfortable Danish leather recliners you'll ever have the pleasure of sinking into, are perfect for TV time. I have some super soft pillows & cozy throws if you choose to hang out on the floor. (the rug’s really that plush!) The room is equipped with the latest in tv technology. A well proportioned deck of sustainably sourced Ipe provides plenty of space to chillax beneath mature stands of Kentia Palm, and Giant Bird of Paradise. Beautiful oversized Ipe loungers and the soothing sound of the courtyard fountain will probably keep you out there for most of your stay. The deck has a great southern exposure for sun bathing. Additional highlights include gleaming hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, central air and heat with Nest climate control, tankless hot water on demand, and dual pane windows for suppression of what little street noise there is. Wifi and wireless sound are provided throughout the home. High efficiency front-loading laundry machines are located in the two car garage. Bed & Bath ... The bedrooms are both equipped with multi function privacy and light filtering shades. Each has a dreamy mattress of medium firmness, and great support. A bladeless Dyson air purifier/fan is provided for those who prefer a little air movement while they sleep. Each room has efficient closet systems, and beautiful floor coverings that are super comfy under foot. Each has a smart tv. The west bedroom has a queen bed and a bath ensuite. The east bedroom features a king bed and French doors leading to a deck, surrounded by lush tropical greenery. There is a fountain that provides soothing sound. The deck is furnished, so it’s a nice place to wake up with a cup of coffee (or a Bloody Mary) and a paper in the morning sun. Few things are more important than comfortable sleep, so my linens and bedding are of very high quality natural fiber. The pillows and comforters are down. As a courtesy, I keep synthetic down-alternative pillows available for those of you with allergies. Each bath features imported tile flooring and shower surrounds, floating vanities, sleek German fittings and beautiful lighting. Please note that neither bath has a tub, sorry soakers. Plush linens and robes are provided to keep you feeling pampered. Cooking and dining ... Please cook while you’re in residence! I love cooking as much as I enjoy eating, so you’ll have my professional grade copper core cookware, forged German cutlery, and all the utensils, tasteful tableware and stemware you’re likely going to need at your disposal. The sleek galley style kitchen opens to the deck with a dining area and grilling station. Fittings include beautiful and efficient cabinetry, Corian counters and high quality appliances. The fridge will dispense filtered water, and ice in your preferred form. The dish machine is whisper quiet. The dual-fuel range cooks quickly and precisely. On the deck is a gas fired grill. A professional grade hood will keep the air smoke free if you lose track of time on the deck and end up carbonizing your entree. You can set the teak table on the deck, or dine inside, depending on your mood and the weather, which is usually perfect for alfresco dining.

This property and its manager is “spot on” for those who want to vacation in the North Park area. You can’t beat the logistics to attractions and convenience to restaurants.

You’ll never want to leave. The accommodations are top notch. The house is stunning. The decks are private and lovely. The beds are amazing as is the bedding. Chip, the property manager is THE BEST. You’ll get a list of places to eat at which is, you know, the most important thing. He is informative, helpful and kind. We enjoyed every second of our stay and will come again and again. Thank you Chip!!!! ♥️

This truly was like staying at a 5 star resort. The photos are spot on but cant reflect the sense of peace and luxury of this bungalow. Our favorite was the outside sitting areas with fountain, lovely plantings and a visit from several hummingbirds. Oh and I also have to mention the amazing water pressure in the shower - perfect!

We booked our stay for Thanksgiving week and the bungalow was a perfect spot. Beautiful yard and we were able to pull together a full thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen. The ping pong and bikes were a nice touch and we had some fun family games and outings. Really loved the easy walk to lots of great restaurants, breweries and shops. Chip was easy to deal with though in the end the trip had a little cloud over it as we received a weird text about 4 days after we checked out about what appeared to be some damage reported by the maids that wasn't there when we left the property. I can only imagine managing a property for rent is incredibly difficult but we never received any additional communication after letting him know it wasn't us so in the end the whole thing feels a little bizarre. Up until that though the property was lovely and we really enjoyed our time there.

Chip’s house was in a great location, very comfortable for 4 adults with a great outdoor area for eating and relaxing. We were able to check in early which was much appreciated. When we arrived there were only 2 bikes instead of 4. Unfortunately 2 had been stolen just before our arrival. Chip was most accommodating and arranged to have 2 more bikes delivered that evening. We really enjoyed biking around the Mission Bay Area, the boardwalk and downtown areas. A great place and a great host! We would definitely stay here again.

The house is very cozy and extremely well appointed with luxurious furnishings, intriguing artwork, a tropical oasis outdoor space, and all the amenities you need for an extended stay. The location has very easy access to basically everything in San Diego, and the neighborhood is full of great shops, restaurants, and cafes. Our host, Chip, was eager to make sure everything was as expected, and beyond.

I stayed with two friends in Chip's rental in North Park for a long weekend. The accommodations are true to the pictures and could not have been more comfortable or relaxing! Chip told me that every good vacation should have great food with a great shower and bed at the end of the day - and he delivered on all three! He provided several delicious and varied restaurant recommendations (many walkable to the property). The showers are larger than most with amazing water pressure. The beds are very comfortable with much nicer bedding than many rentals. The outside area was such a fun extra feature that really extended the living area of the house. Chip was very responsive and communicative about any issue that came up. He told us that the bikes weren't available during our stay but worked with us to secure bike rentals. He went above and beyond to make sure everything about our stay was taken care of so we could just focus on having a great time enjoying North Park and San Diego. This home wasn't just a place to stay but was part of the charm of the trip. We had a great time and would definitely stay with Chip again!!!
