Nestled in Oak Island, this lovely house for $171 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Pelican's Perch is a single level cottage with 3 bedroom/2 baths, located on the west end of the island (6 streets from the Midland road beach access). The house has been newly renovated with updated decor, 1 Serta Icomfort king bed, plush queen bed, and 2 plush XL twin beds; sheets are provided. There is a screened in porch to keep you away from cousin skeeter (that's southern talk for mosquitoes) and to keep you out of the sun. There are two tvs with YouTube TV, a roku, an apple tv, dvd, and plenty of movies. All bedrooms, living room, and screened in porch have ceiling fans. It is close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, boat ramps, piers, lighthouses, a movie theater, putt putt, and ....of course...the BEACH. It is a short 1 mile drive/walk to the beach and only one street away from the intracoastal waterway, Yacht Drive. Yacht Drive offers lovely views of the Intracoastal waterway while walking or biking. There is a public walkway/dock overlooking the intracoastal on 4th, 5th, and a small park on 14th street. Oak Island has miles of beaches, Plenty of beach accesses, public boating access facilities, scenic walkways, two fishing piers and lots more. There is also a city center with 5 public tennis courts, soccer/ball field, skateboard park, and new playground. They also hold small festivals and outdoor concerts. NEW SPLASH PAD open from 10-6, daily. It is located in Middleton Park Annex behind Town Hall. A small private airport is just off the Island and offers plane island tours and parachuting. There are several marinas close to our home that offer boat, jet ski, and paddle board rentals. They also offer sunset cruises and deep sea fishing. Don't miss the sunset at one of the marina restaurants, while sipping a cocktail. If you don't feel like going out, stay at home and cook in our fully equipped kitchen or grill out in the backyard! Enjoy your meal, the breeze, and fireflies out back on the screened in porch. Just minutes up the road from OKI, you’ll find the historic town of Southport (#1 America's Happiest Seaside Town in 2015) where you can grab a coffee, take a break on one of the many swings, stroll the oak lined streets, and/or shop for unique gifts and antiques. Take a day trip on the ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island where you can rent a golf cart (no cars allowed on the island) and tour the island. Or, take the ferry to Fort Fisher and visit the Civil War Museum or the North Carolina Fort Fisher Aquarium. Pack a picnic lunch, feed the birds, and search for starfish among the mossy rocks. Historic Wilmington, NC is a little over 30 miles away. With a colorful past, including lots of pirates, this is a fun city to tour, on foot or by carriage! Visit the USS North Carolina battleship while you are there! Lots of neat shops and restaurants are on Chandlers Wharf! It's a 45 min drive to North Myrtle beach if you want to do some outlet mall shopping or see a big crowd. Whether you want an active vacation or a relaxing one, OKI is the place for you!

Clean - comfortable - nice back screen porch. Everything was great except for the fact that the TV remote was smarter than I was! Another plus is that this side of the island is a bit quieter than the east side. Great for walking or riding bikes! Would come back here anytime I have the time!

We enjoyed our stay at OKI this was our first time at this beach and it was a perfect last minute get away for our family. The house was very clean and decorated nicely. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. We did rent a golf cart to get us to and from the beach, highly recommend

This property is very welcoming and clean. Quite neighborhood and short drive to the beach. Just an FYI, they no longer have cable. Communication is great! I would stay here again. Thank you for a great home and vacation!

This piece of property is exactly as seen in the pictures on VRBO. We were all very impressed. Clean and very well maintained. If we are ever to come down again would most definitely stay in again. Love that it was on the west end not as much congestion and shops. Thank you to Mark and Hollee for allowing us to use your property.

Great location, close the beach in a quite area. The house was beautiful and clean. Plenty of room for a family. The owners provided beach items and even bikes if you wanted them. Additionally they provided recommendations on activities and restaurants. Oak Island is a great place to relax and enjoy the amenities of the beach. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our weekend getaway! It was perfect for our kids. They loved all the toys. The screened in porch was delightful. The appliances were very nice and updated. Very nicely decorated and lots of space for everyone. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was in a great, quiet neighborhood not far from the beach! The home was exactly as described. They provided some beach chairs, umbrella and some toys. This was a great help! We had a small issue and the owner was prompt to respond.

A perfect place for my mom and I to spend a girl's weekend at the beach. The house was spotless and had lots of thoughtful amenities; the furniture and beds were very comfortable (my mom slept better than she does at home!) and the kitchen was very well-stocked. We wanted to stay an extra night but will just have to come back!

This was our first visit to Oak Island and my family enjoyed our trip and found Tranquil Harbor to be perfect for us! The home was located in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The notebook with recommendations for restaurants, points of interest, and beach access was very helpful. Our trip was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tranquil Harbour. The house had a super cute beach decor. Very well kept up and was exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the screened in back porch. The shower and tub in the master bath was awesome!. The location was very desirable to the beach, grocery store, shops, hop on down to South Port as well. We highly recommend staying at this house.

Very much enjoyed the comfortable and spacious Pelican House. Lots of amenities, well equipped kitchen and lovely screened in porch ideal for morning coffee/tea. The bicycles are a bonus and a must for getting to the beach as public parking is limited. Many thanks to Hollee/Mike for easy communication and attention to detail. Will definitely stay here again!

This place has it all, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, nice furnishings and tasteful decor. Great location away from beach noise, but easy access. Only suggestion would be to add more towel bars/hooks in master bath.
