The 3 BR/1.5 Bath, 1700 sq ft fully-insulated 4-season cottage faces 270 degree lake views, plus a private cove at the back of the house that adds to the feeling of being on an island, right in the center of Cayuga Lake! The house is itself is an older (1970's) build, but has been furnished for comfort, and what makes this really special is the unparalleled location and grounds, shoreline, and views! The east shore location means fantastic sunset views, while the location of the south facing point with the lake angle means you also get sunrises! The best of both worlds! The property is nice, and quaint. It was very quiet and peaceful, at least in Nov. With the Marinas I can imagine it may not be as such doing the season. We enjoyed the stay. The house is well equipped for cooking and staying in. The only complaint I would have is the electric heating system (baseboard) is a bit noisy kicking on and off and would disrupt sleep.

We had a lovely stay. The house is so well organized and directions are posted in perfect spots so there’s no questions. Really loved that! Could not be a more idyllic spot, and the outdoors is also set up perfectly. Very beautiful and relaxing.

This is a wonderful cabin in a beautiful setting. The stay was extremely enjoyable and the property is clearly well taken care of by the owners. The listing and photos are accurate. The house was very well set up to start the stay. There was really nothing we needed that was not already there besides food. It was a fun cabin and we will be back.

Perfect long weekend for the family. Can't believe this place exists. Somehow open to the lake/marina on all sides yet at the same time incredibly private. We did not want to leave and still wish we were there. The grounds were great with the incredible views and peaceful lake/nature vibes. Inside was very comfy and appointed nicely. Couldn't ask for a better few days relaxation for all of us. Plus our 10-yr caught his first fish right off the dock - great memories! P.S. highly recommend Salt Point Brewing.

This location is exactly as described. Almost an island of your own, the propery has everything needed to enjoy a secluded lakefront escape. The house is clean and well stocked with games, kayaks, canoes, firepits, and all that you could want if you choose to cook. We were able to use one of the boat companies that was suggested by the owner and had a boat delivered right to the house for our use. I highly recommend and look forward to an opportunity to return time and time again.

Only reason not 5 star is we wish the deck was screened in because of the bugs getting in the house which is hard to avoid with this and any other lakefront location. Lovely home overall with great beds and bed linens, air conditioning in the bedrooms was just right.

We had an amazing vacation in the Finger Lakes - primarily due to finding the perfect house/property. We loved the privacy, the ability to swim, kayak, and fish right from the house... without needing to walk up and down lots of steps like so many other lake houses in the area. We also appreciated the wide assortment of seemingly brand new games in the cabinets. The proximity to Ithaca was also a bonus as we went "into town" a few times to enjoy delicious meals. Thanks so much for a great stay! We hope to be back!

Our family of four loved the house and location. We rented a pontoon from the marina, and just a short walk to the boat. We were worried about the marina "traffic", but it was completely quiet and not bothersome at all. The house was just as advertised, and we completely enjoyed our stay. The kayaks and SUP were thoroughly enjoyed by all the family, and was great to have the constant access to the boats. The best surprise of all was watching the minks work the shoreline everyday, what a fun delight!

3 generations traveled from Indiana to stay at this property and were we impressed! Everything we could have wanted or needed in a place away from home was provided! (except food of course) The property has many signs, labels, and documents to explain how things work and what is available to you as a guest. It's worth reading them and exploring the house when you get settled in. We found all of the details very helpful. We had no problem with the drinking/ice water jug replacement. We learned from a local that the co-op near the Ithaca Farmer's Market will let you refill the jugs for 40 cents a gallon instead of the $7 per jug at Tops (grocery store). The sandwich shop down the highway is a quirky place, but they have amazing sandwiches. We were able to enjoy the beautiful yard, lake views, nearby park, and visit with our friends. We attended the Farmer's Market (great little event!), walked to Ithaca Falls, and made the drive around the lake (almost directly across the lake from the property) to Taughannock Falls. We had a wide range of mobility and stamina in the members of our group. If you're not sure about which gorge to traverse, Taughannock is stroller/wheelchair friendly and Ithaca Falls is an easy and short walk to an amazing falls. We traveled with my 3 children, all under 10, and they had just as much fun as my retired in-laws. I hope we're able to stay at this property again when we visit Ithaca in the future! Although our stay was short and the weather wasn't the greatest, the nice day we did have was amazing. The house is perfectly set up, very organized, and was perfect for our needs. The property is beautiful!! Water views out every window! Hope to be back again one day!

This property is excellent for a quiet and quaint getaway. It is very family friendly with a well stocked kitchen, good wifi, games and activities for indoors and outdoors. Beautiful walk on the marina and waterfront park with a big playground. The best use of the property would be in warmer weather and it is not meant for large groups with only 1 bathroom with tub/shower.

Despite its truly unique location and beautiful lake views, we were so uncomfortable at The Point that we chose to forfeit the entire rental amount and find other accommodations. No one in our party wanted to stay. This is an older cabin which is somewhat “off the grid” as far as city services, so understandably there are some special considerations in caring for the property.
However, all of the rules and regulations, having already been spelled out in excruciating detail in the rental agreement, appear yet again in the “handbook” and on signs posted throughout the cabin. The interior is literally papered with notices at every turn. One can’t even see the refrigerator for the pages and pages of endless dos and don’ts.
Having been in the hospitality industry for many years, I can attest that none of this conveys a feeling of welcome. Though the owners seem very friendly and helpful, and the cabin is very clean and organized, all of the rules & regulations had us feeling more like caretakers than guests.
In addition, for the price being charged, it’s unreasonable that one has to purchase and haul 5 gallon jugs of water - this should be taken care of for guests. At least one of the fireplaces should be operational. Our hopes of a relaxing stay with friends around a cheerful fire unfortunately did not come true.

This was my second time staying and it was as lovely as I remember it. Location is perfect, kitchen is spacious and well stocked, and the furniture was comfortable. We both enjoyed the property and house, and also traveled to nearby wineries and hiking. Excellent location as a home base for exploring the finger lakes. You are very close to Ithaca and any amenity you can need, but also feel restfully private. After many visits to the finger lakes region, this was my first in the fall and it was spectacular. The lake and marina were exceptionally quiet and we enjoyed the wild life.

I couldn't find a single thing to criticize with this property. From the well stocked kitchen, to great appliances. The owners thought of everything...from the lake friendly toys in the utility room and the canoes and kayaks.
The living space was comfortable with plenty of comfortable seating even for a large group. The decor was very pleasant and well done. I loved that there was a towel warmer in the bathroom, made for nice warm and dry towels each day.
The most important thing to me is that the bed was comfortable. So many times I've stayed at lovely homes and the beds have been simply horrible. Definitely not the case here, we both slept well the entire week we were there. Other owners should take a note that the beds are as (if not more) important as the rest of the house.
I can't say enough about this property, the wild life, the views, the sunsets, the fire by the lake...all made for a wonderful time. Our whole family was supposed to join, but thanks to illness we got the whole house to ourselves and enjoyed it immensely.

Great place in a very private setting. Water all around with gorgeous views of sunrise and sunset. Clean a very well stocked home for families. We enjoyed visiting wineries around Cayuga and simply sitting on the dock enjoying the views. Quick ride into Ithaca too. Highly recommend it.

We had a great time here. It really did feel like we were on our own little island. The house itself was very comfortable and cozy, we had great views of the lake itself, and the owners were very kind and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend, especially since we already booked a return trip.

One of the very best properties we have ever entered. The only flaw was having to drive through the pothole ridden Marina. But after we made it onto the property - WOW! We were completely blown away. The place is beautifully maintained and has the most well stocked kitchen I have ever seen!!! Whoever decorated this house is genius, such beautiful and interesting furnishings. Stunning views, feels totally private. Loved all of the birds and other wildlife, even saw deer a couple of mornings. Would love to return, and highly recommend.

We recently stayed at The Point and had the most wonderful time. You just can’t beat the views from this amazing spot on Lake Cayuga. Whether sitting inside the house looking out the large living room or kitchen windows, or out on the large deck, the view of the lake was so relaxing. And at night sitting in the Jacuzzi looking at the stars or lights of Ithaca off in the distance was magical. The house was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It was nice to have the market and gas station just minutes away. Ithaca was maybe a 10 minute drive to lots of restaurants and shopping. And the hiking…so many great trails and waterfalls close by. We had everything we needed for a fantastic time. We can’t wait to go back again.

This is truly a special property! Panoramic water views, privacy and a well equipped, cozy home made this a perfect jumping off point for a lake and land adventure. Our pups absolutely loved exploring and chasing each other around the huge yard while we could relax in the water or in the hot tub. Gorgeous sunsets and ideal bass boat docking conditions due to the extremely well protected cove out back. All around an amazing vacation and we owe it all to this amazing location!

We had a wonderful week at the point! The owners have gone above and beyond to make your stay here as easy as possible. Everything is labeled and all possible questions answered. Beds are super comfortable. The grounds are truly unique and special. The lake is crystal clear. But you do need water shoes for the rocks and zebra mussels. We truly had an amazing week!
