Homes location affords spectacular night views of city lights, star gazing and romantic moonlight views of Mt Sopris. Great room and master bedroom patios provide one of the best views in the valley during the 4th of July fireworks! Tons of wildlife abound, home is somewhat secluded on 2 acres within a 10 minute walk of old Basalt. 2 car garage, 2 zone a/c, 5 gas log fireplaces, (master, sitting, library, great, garden patio), 100 yr old reclaimed hardwood flr, 200 yr old reclaimed interior doors from Italy,France,South America. Home has encrypted wireless network through StarLink. Strong signal & bandwidth. Kitchen has 60" Viking Dual Fuel stove with griddle, Warming Drawer, 100#/day commercial fresh icemaker, 3 dishwashers, Convection Micro, Trash compactor, double door below counter refridge across from Sub-Zero Fridge/Freezer, then of course a 64 bottle dual temp wine chiller on large center island with additional sink. Large Pantry with 10' Double doors over 200 yrs old are adjacent Kitchen. Garage is basically on same level of kitchen and pantry for easy functional use. All bedrooms of good size, each with private bath. Master has steam shower, 3 showerheads and granite bench with spray handle, jetted tub, Music and own floor heat controller. Master closet just inside master bath on left is something to be seen, bring your whole wardrobe! Outside on the Garden level you will enjoy a waterfall and stream running adjacent the 8 person hot tub as it flows into a small koi pond. (Waterfall creates nice noise for sleeping). Directly across from the hot tub is a wonderful gas log fireplace both located on 1 of 5 flagstone patios overlooking the "Up Valley" view of Basalt/Aspen. A table that seats 6 for dining is located on the garden patio, outside, completely protected from the elements with a second kitchen just inside for you convenience. This home is quite spectacular, warm and cozy, with a very romantic feel, possibly claiming the best value for your vacation home rental dollar in the valley! We will consider selling our home directly to the right persons, involving both our Real estate attorney's, adding great purchase values for the right folks. No pictures (which are fantastic) can do justice to the quality of this home. The owner is the most organized and thoughtful of all VRBO's we have used. We did not want to leave. Can't wait for our next visit!

We really enjoyed this property, and the owner and property manager were both very nice and swiftly handled a small issue upon arrival. Both Snowmass or Aspen are a short and easy 15–20-minute drive. Nearby Whole Foods, City Market and multiple shops a short 5 minute drive, or downtown Basalt has several wonderful places to eat and shop. Great layout for family to all be near each other, but in different groups too. Kitchen has small seating area with a TV and great room is nearby with large dining room table and large couch and chairs by fireplace. Downstairs TV area great for kids to escape for a bit or to watch a movie. Beautiful views. Comfortable and clean beds/sheets. Well stocked kitchen made it easy to have extra meals. Large and small oven upstairs in main kitchen and a 2nd oven in downstairs bar area if needed. We had 6 people sleep very comfortably.

Our total experience from initial contact and booking to check out was seamless. The Owner and Manager were both attentive and very interested in receiving any advice for improvements — we could not think of a single one in addition to what the property already offered. If you are seeking a fabulous residence with superb views, exceptional services and a very comfortable, accommodating feel, this home is perfect for your friends and family. It’s unique location combines a sense of isolation with easy accessibility to the ski slopes and the town of Basalt. The common areas are well designed and appointed, providing sophisticated amenities together with an informal vibe and plenty of space for relaxation and socializing. The bedrooms are generous, with ensuite bathrooms, comfortable KS beds (one bedroom has two single beds) and sporting excellent comforters and generous bathroom linens and supplies. There is ample parking for many vehicles (at one time we had five easily parked at the rear of the property) and there is an outdoor electrical socket that one of my sons used to recharge his electric vehicle. The laundry room is capacious, with two large units (washer and dryer) and thoughtfully providing a variety of detergent options. If you have work to do, there is a generous office. with direct access to the deck which has an eight person hot tub. It is not simply a holiday home, it has all the attributes of a real family home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and recommend it highly for anyone wanting to combine comfort, spaciousness, accessibility and a family atmosphere.

But, it is the luxurious common areas of the house that really makes it shine. The gourmet kitchen with all Viking appliances was phenomenal! I did most of the cooking, and I appreciated the high quality cookware and cutlery. The Webber grill was also exceptional for steaks, salmon, thresher shark, and chicken. The great room consisting of the dining and living room was an elaborate place to gather at the end of the day, in front of the fire.
My group was there to ski, and went every day to Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Mountain, an easy drive to each. We kept our skies and boots in the heated garage for easy loading to our vehicle in the morning. We started each day in the kitchen with coffee from two different coffee makers, and also made oatmeal, eggs, fruit, and cereal on various mornings. The convenience of the kitchen made it easy to get out the door in an hour. Everyday after skiing we stopped at the City Market or Whole Foods in Basalt for our dinner items and other groceries, then drove a short distance to our mountain retreat. A highlight of every night was relaxing in the huge, 8 person hot tub, soothing the muscles, and getting us ready for our dinner feast.
Tom, our host, and the property manager Victor were always a phone call away. When we had any questions or problems they were handled quickly and efficiently.
This was a most memorable week of skiing, comfort, and joy that I will not soon forget. Tom is a fine, friendly man and I thank him for providing his incredible home for me and my friends. I hope that I can come back for another stay during a future ski season, or in the summer with my family. I highly recommend this extraordinary VRBO rental to YOU!

Great house and views!
We loved this house! The views were stunning and the house is very well maintained. The kitchen is particularly large and well stocked with anything you would need - we cooked most meals in. We used the hot tub daily and it’s quite big. The house is very spacious and we would love to return!

Great location fantastic views
The house is beautiful with plenty of room for the nine of us. Four bedrooms and the study with pullout allowed everyone a private space.Kitchen was great and we cooked all our meals.fully utilizing the immense cook top and ovens.Had a couple of equipment issues which were handled promptly minimizing any significant concerns. Victor the property manager was personable and Tom was easy to work with.We'll consider the property for next year if we decide to ski Snowmass again.

Awesome week in Basalt!
Beautiful home!
We have stayed in many beautiful vacation homes, but this was one of our favorites, if not the best! My wife stayed at the house while my children and I skied each day and she enjoyed the beauty and solitude the house offers. There are plenty of rooms to relax and 3 fireplaces, each with their own cozy space. The great room has the most beautiful picture window to view the mountains (along with practically every other room). We had multiple deer sightings and really felt like we were able to escape the hustle and bustle. We skied at Buttermilk and Snowmass, each about a 30 min drive. My wife appreciated the little extras like having a Yankee Candle, plenty of zippy bags, paper towels, towels and 2 “drawer” dishwashers, along with a regular one in the beautiful gourmet kitchen. Victor, the manager, was helpful and was willing to meet us at 11:30 pm the night we arrived, but we said the next day would be fine. The day after it snowed, a snowplow came to clear the driveway. The floors and furniture throughout the home are beautiful! It is obvious that a lot of love and thought went into the building and decorating of this home.
A few negatives: the TV wasn’t working properly and Victor came to assist. All my wife could get was the previous renters Netflix selections, but we aren’t big TV watchers, so it was ok. One side of the jacuzzi jets wasn’t working and the in-home sound system didn’t work either...that was a bummer, because we really would have used that. Finally, the renters are not allowed to use the garage, which was disappointing since the walkway was slick getting back and forth from our car each day; we all slipped a couple of times and my daughter really fell hard one day.
None of these “negatives” would be enough for us not to highly recommend this home to our friends. We had a great week here and were very sad when it was time to leave.

AWESOME PLACE FOR FAMILY TRIP
We met our kids and grandsons in Colorado to spend time fly fishing and enjoying our special time together. Cozy Mountain Home was the perfect place for all of us to gather and enjoy Colorado. The spectacular views from every room in the house, the comfy beds, the wonderful kitchen, the hot tub with a fireplace close by and the deck off the great room made this the perfect place for wonderful family memories. Well, after thirteen years of renting ski houses from VRBO, we finally found the most beautiful one available. In this Cozy Mountain Home, no expense was spared. Very comfortable, and if you like to cook, you will be in heaven in this amazing kitchen. With less than a thirty minute drive to any of the Aspen resorts and never any traffic, you are in a prime, secluded location. For ski equiptment, I highly reccomend the Basalt Bike and Ski for all your needs, just five minutes away.
You will definitely be comfy and cozy in this Cozy Mountain Home.

Centralized stereo system with individual room controls, a professional's kitchen, a luxurious master bath and bedroom, flat screen TVs, and amazing views, this house is a vacation in and of itself. Although operating all the systems requires a bit of tech savvy, everything is well explained by the house manager and in a thorough notebook.

Moving on up
Myself and 3 friends have been taking a ski week for the last 10 years and renting through VRBO. We've stayed at some incredible homes, but the Basalt Taj outshines them all. From the huge kitchen with plenty of room for 4 cook/meddlers to the great living room view, the toasty 8 person hot tub, the warm wood interiors, comfortable bedrooms, the XM radio throughout, three flat screen TV's. When friends ask me how my vacation was, finding I'm raving more about the house rather than the mountains and skiing, it's a special and spectacular place with an extravagent amount of elbow room. Thanks for letting us feel like millionaires for a week.

Heaven on Earth!
This home I'd magnificent! We had a wonderful time. From the moment we drove up we were very impressed. Even the driveway is beautiful. Even with our fairly large group of nine, there was plenty of room and we never felt crowded. We really enjoyed cooking breakfast in the fabulous kitchen and cooking dinner outside on the grill. The outdoor area with the fireplace and waterfall are so relaxing. The layout of the home is perfect! All the guys dubbed the garden level living area the "man cave"! They loved it. We loved the decor and all the amenities. There was nothing missing! The attention to detail is impressive. Also very impressive was that this was the most organized vacation rental I have ever experienced. We are ready to plan our next trip. Thank you for sharing your home!

Absolutely Incredible
This home is so amazing with lots of charm and character. Our family felt very comfortable and relaxed. The views from any window is breathtaking. Relaxing in the hot tub and being able to watch the flames dancing in the outdoor fireplace while stars are twinkling in the sky is just one of many wonderful amenities you will find here. The owners have paid attention to the smallest of details. Our family had an incredible time and have made wonderful memories. Whether you're here with family, friends, or honeymooning, I would highly recommend this beautiful home.

Beautiful Colorado
We were very surprised with this property and all the amenities it had to offer, they are far to numerous to list. We found the location to be excellant, midway between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, as we spent time in both towns, not only for site seeing, but for dining out as well. This property was immaculate, of course its new but still it was very well kept and the owners were reponsive to our needs. The pictures couldn't show enough of this amazing home especially the kitchen. It was all just a small taste of what a person could experience, our favorite time was under the stars in the hot tub with the outdoor fireplace flames dancing in the night. It seemed like there was a spectacular view from every room and it really adds to the serenity of this home. The snow was absolutely beautiful for our winter ski trip and the boys couldn't get enough of it. We had just a grand time so much so that we asked for and recieved another 12 days early this spring. The snow was gone so it gave us a whole new feel for the place and we were just so happy to experience the use of those amenities that weren't available during the winter season. I suppose those people who fish the world class trout streams around here will love this place too.

Words cannot describe!
Breathtaking it is, from the view to the decor, ambiance, and plush accomodations. I can't begin to describe the serenity you feel sipping coffee on the deck in the morning,surrounded by the majesty of the mountains and the fresh, clean mountain air. It is incredible. If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax, entertain or have as your home base on a ski trip, this is it. The owners have paid attention to every detail and never have I felt so pampered. The photos are beautiful but still can't do it justice, you have to see it! I wish there were 10 stars, 5 just doesn't tell it like it is!
