Located a block from the waters of Shem Creek and you can rent kayaks and paddle boards right at the waters edge. The heart of downtown Charleston is a 12 minute drive and the beach at Sullivan's Island is 3 miles away. Cottage was a perfect location for our trips into Charleston and out to Sullivan's Island each day. Cute and functional kitchen, comfortable beds. Great little back patio - wish our dog didn't have to 'go' out front on a leash - but that's the only thing!

We loved this location as it was very close to many of our favorite spots in Shem Creek. We stayed here during our wedding and it was so nice to be 10-15 mins from downtown and I’on where our venue was. We had some some issues with the bathroom, the window needs a good cleaning there was black gunk in there that just simply needed to be wiped down regularly. Also there was no place to hang a hand towel or toilet tissue so that was a little unsanitary. Other than that, this place cold really be improved with little touches like hanging a wine opener (luckily we just walked across the street to buy one) and extra batteries for the remote. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and would definitely recommend it!

We enjoyed this little house on our 4-5 day get away a lot. The owner Joe was super nice. The house is in a great location close to lots of restaurants and shopping options many within walking distance. Proximity to both the beach and downtown Charleston was perfect for us.

The area is fantastic! You need to eat at the Wreck right down the street. Tons of food options and shops. The beach is 15 mins away and downtown Charleston as well! The beds were super comfortable.

The property is in a crowed little neighborhood. The kitchen is not equipped with the essentials. There were 2 teaspoons, one med. size sauce pan, one med. size fry pan. In the online pictures, the TV is across from the sofa, but in reality it is sitting beside it making it difficult to watch.There was a note that cushions for outside furniture was in a closet. There were 4 outside chairs and one cushion. The dining room light is almost as big as the table and we both hit our heads getting up from it. There is also no mention of someone else at the back of the property until you pay your deposit, which is interesting because the bathroom is in direct line with the neighbors, and the decorative lining they put over the shower window was useless for privacy. Lastly, the very first evening I saw something crawling in the kitchen. I killed a large palmetto roach.

Stayed at the Coastal Cottage to celebrate a Citadel graduation. If I could have given the location 10 stars I would! Easy walk to Mexican for Cinco de Mayo, Paige’s for brunch, Vintage Coffee & Coastal Crust. 15 minutes to the Citadel or downtown. Courtyard was well furnished & perfect for happy hour or morning coffee. Comfy beds. Had a couple of questions & Joe was very responsive. We will be back!
