Newly restored including refinishing the original fir floor complete with their charming squeaks, and listed on Nat register of historic places. The bungalow comfortably sleeps 2 in the queen bed, and one or 2 adults or children in the second bedroom with a trundle bed with 2 twin mattresses. Just one block walk to the heart of downtown Bend with its restaurants, pubs, galleries as well as visitors center,banks groceries/pharmacy. Just a quick trip with my wife and 4 month old daughter. Location was excellent and perfect for afternoon walks. Easily walk to plenty of food and drinks with the rest of bend a quick 3-8 minute drive.

The house is cute, a reflection of many older smaller homes in the Millpond area. It’s a shame the old hardwood floors aren’t visible since most of the floor space is covered with big and bulky rugs. Please remove all the rugs, and let the old wood floors show their beauty. The furniture is oversized for the small rooms, an easy fix with appropriate furnishings. The newly restored kitchen and Jack and Jill bathroom are nicely done, cute and cozy. Bathroom, like the bedrooms and living room need some space by removing a few items, or replacing with more size specific pieces. Most furniture has that “ hand me down/ leftovers “ feel and look. If you are a tv/video buff the one and only tv in the living room is small, wasn’t a concern for me, but if you like to watch a bigger screen, you will be disappointed. However it’s Bend which is all about being outdoors.

Beware bugs and false advertising!!
We recently stayed here over the weekend (August 18-20th). Upon arriving we opened the front door and saw these little bugs. They were all over the living room and kitchen. I contacted the owner of the house - sent her photos of the bugs and raising concern about staying in a location that has bugs crawling around. No response. I didn’t hear back from the owner until 9:30am the next morning.
This is the message I received directly from the owner: “ Haley. I got your message about the little bugs. So sorry for them getting into your food! Please just squish them like they were flies. They are box elder beetles. They smell funny when crushed. I think thats why the birds dont eat them. But they are harmless in that they dont bite or sting or eat clothing. I have had the perimeter of the house sprayed twice and the wi dows.” And “I hate to spray too much because its bad for birds and earthworms etc. I think the box elder beetles live in the trees and i really dont k ow why they wNt to come in the house.”
I hope by sharing my experience the owner is more truthful of the property she is renting and those who are looking at this property for vacation are aware of the house/bugs before they make the decision to stay here.
Also, she lists there are bikes able for renters to use but the bikes had flat tires and were not usable. If you are going to list something that we can use, you would think they would be in working condition

We love this cute historic house in the Old Bend are neighborhood. The house was updated and very charming; perfect for families with kids and pups! We enjoyed exploring more of the area and love how close to downtown it was! Will be back again to stay at this charming home.

Clean, newer amenities. Comfortable beds. Good AC unit. Great location in between Old Mill and Old downtown Bend. For an older home, it was in good condition. Quiet neighborhood. The stairs to the garage/driveway were a little difficult to navigate with luggage so we parked out front with much easier access.

We walked to dinner and exploring every evening. We brought our kids scooters and they scooted from the house to dinner. The home was quiet and perfectly situated in a cute neighborhood. We felt safe and the home was simple and comfy. The beds were comfortable and I loved how there were plenty of bath towels and blankets. There is AC in the main area, the bedrooms did get a little warm at night. The front lawn was perfect for afternoon or breakfast picnics and blowing bubbles.

Our stay couldn't have been better. The Belle Millhouse was exceptionally clean, within walking distance to the entire westside of Bend, very comfortable for the two of us and we were visited by 2 very large bucks that took a short siesta one afternoon. Colleen was communicative and available. We highly recommend!

My family of four stayed in this wonderful home this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We could walk into downtown or to the park in less than ten minutes, enjoying all of the beauty Bend has to offer. It’s the perfect size for a family and has everything you need. Came for a stage race and the little house had plenty of room for our gear between the yard, garage and space in the house. Yes, the house is little but for just the two of us it had ample space and is located perfectly for a quick walk in all directions to all we needed.
