Southwest Harbor, located on the quiet side of MDI, is a welcome alternative to bustling Bar Harbor! A winding driveway leads to a secluded lot surrounded by evergreens. From the back door you can connect with numerous hiking trails which are located in nearby Acadia National Park! Enjoy the visiting wildlife through the wall to wall windows in the living/ dining area. On clear nights, it is the perfect spot for star gazing!! The first floor open layout includes a fully equipped kitchen, living /dining area, 1 queen bedroom , full bath and laundry. On the second floor you will find a queen bedroom, double bedroom, full bath and loft area with futon. Take in the tranquil scenery of the blueberry field and Beech Mountain as you cook your delicious Maine lobster on the outdoor grill!

This place felt like home. The beautiful backyard area in the fall and the quiet scenery. It was a great stay to explore bar harbor and bike Acadia.

cottage was as advertised, although upon our arrival, due to a miscommunication between host and housekeeping, cottage was not cleaned, beds not made since previous tenants. However, once error was discovered, mistake was corrected in a very timely manner . We loved remote location and natural landscape on backside of property. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time staying at the house. It is a perfect location to be able to access Acadia and then come back to a quieter location. House is clean, spacious, includes everything you need and the views are great.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location for hiking. We saw deer in the front yard every morning. And there is a cute coffee shop about 5 minutes away. If you stay here, make sure to follow the host’s directions to the property. The map app on my phone tried to take us to a neighboring property. My only complaint was the upstairs tub did not drain well. Otherwise we had a great time.

Property worked well for our Acadian vacation. We thought the location outside of Southwest Harbor was great. Nice to be on the "quiet" side of Mount Desert Island but have access to everything! Thanks for allowing us to stay in your property!

My family and I always look forward to our return to this fantastic home. It truly is our happy place! Kathryn's property is clean, organized, and very peaceful. It is close to Echo Lake and two of our favorite hikes - Wonderland and Ship Harbor. We love the quiet side of the island and if you like nature and solitude, you will surely love it here too.

We had a fabulous stay in blueberry lane in southwest harbor. The house is tucked away but still very accessible and a great spot between the quieter side of the island and bar harbor. The house was clean, had everything we needed and the hosts were quick to answer questions! Would absolutely stay here again!

This house was a perfect home base to explore MDI for our family of four. It is clean, comfortable, has a well stocked kitchen, near hiking trails and the views of the blueberry field and mountains were amazing. We loved watched the deer and turkeys every morning as we prepared for our daily adventure. Kathy is the perfect host!

We loved this house. It was the cleanest home we’ve ever stayed in! It was in a great location, loved wandering out to the blueberry bushes and saw deer in the morning. Kathy was wonderful to work with, she circled in with us to see how we were enjoying our stay and the area. We highly recommend staying in this property!

This is our 2nd time staying at Blueberry Cottage and I’m pleased to say that we loved it just as much as the first time. It was perfect for our family. So quiet and peaceful with a lovely view of a meadow and mountains in the distance. The cottage had everything we needed. We didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend staying at Blueberry Cottage.

Home is in a great location on the quiet side of the island. Convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We enjoyed watching the turkeys and deer in the field every day. Home was clean and bright. My only wish would have been a few kitchen condiments such as vegetable oil spray and salt/pepper and kitchen garbage bags. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was my wife and I and our adult children (and girlfriends) - 6 people total. The house was perfect for our needs - not too far from Bar Harbor and Acadia but outside of the hustle and bustle. My favorite part was the window lined wall - enjoying some coffee while looking out over what appeared to be blueberry fields was a great way to start a day in Maine! Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It was clean and well maintained.
The kitchen had nice appliances and had the basics in dishes, utensils, etc. All the windows made us feel like we were a part of nature. The location was private, but an easy drive to other attractions. The upstairs beds left something to be desired. We liked the little gas stove in the livingroom. It took the chill off and was cozy. It was a great place to stay!

The house was a great layout for our family of four. We knew we were staying on the quiet side of the island with quick access to Echo Lake and trails.
We enjoyed the sunrise in the field. (You may want to pack an eye mask if you are used to a dark bedroom).
One thing to note, this house is not air conditioned (I didn’t think to look for it). The temperature was fine, but when it rained, it was very humid in the house.

Also highly recommend a visit to the farm stand at Beech Hill Farms nearby. This was one of my favorite houses we've ever stayed in!

We stayed six nights at this wonderful property outside southwest harbor. Its an easy drive to all Mount Desert Island and a more idyllic spot couldn't be found every night and morning deer and turkeys roam the large blueberry meadow behind the property. Very clean. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The setting is simply stunning and rather shocking in it's beauty. The whole home is a great design that worked perfectly for our family with small children. Everything feels very well put together and tidy... a better home than the pictures let on. We could not have asked for a better home base from which to explore Acadia!

This is our second time at the Blueberry house and there definitely will be a third! We love everything about this house from the location, to the view, to the thoughtful and comfortable interior with a ton of windows. Communication with the owner was outstanding. Can't recommend this enough!

Go ahead and book this amazing rental!
