Elegant old home with practically everything we needed. We had a great family reunion. Kitchen was divine and really cool. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. Lovely quiet setting despite road close by. Pet friendly. Manager prompt and responsive to concerns.
Concerns included
1. Pool was not clean when we arrived but when VRBO contacted, someone showed up the next morning
2. Strong solvent odor in house and carriage house which cleared with airing
3. Latch on fence to pool area not functional causing concern for toddler safety
4. Underwater pool light housing was loose and dangling with wires showing. We were reassured by manager that power was off and it was safe but still disconcerting.
5. Lawn had considerable old dog feces
6. Poison ivy around pool and in gardens
7. Kitchen sponges hard to find
8. Only two kitchen towels.

What a lovely place to stay. The pool, the lush landscape, outdoor spaces and plenty of room inside this spacious yet charming home. Wonderful place to stay. Very special.

We rented this home for an annual family vacation. Rather than go to the beach, we decided to rent a large home which was within a 3-hour drive from NY and Md. All we wanted as a nice place with a pool. From the moment we entered the home, we knew it was met all our needs. Fresh flowers everywhere (even orchids), a clean pool surrounded by beautiful landscaping, a well-stocked kitchen, strong WIFI, an abundance of towels, lots of toilet paper and laundry and dishwashing detergent. The bedrooms were spacious and private. My adult daughter and husband stayed in the carriage house which was not as nice as the main house, but they liked the privacy and the window air conditioner. The children and some of the men spent time in the TV room with the very large TV. There was a lovely “reading room” which we call the “quiet room”. We played some games in the living room. The grocery store was only 5 minutes away, and Costco was a 20-minute drive. We loved it and plan to come back!

This is our second time at this lovely house. We're a family group of 10 and this is our favorite of the many houses we've rented over the years for summer vacation. Spacious, comfortable, large and beautiful pool: this place has everything. Plenty of bedrooms for the 10 of us, large well appointed kitchen, big dining room. A big plus, although intangible, is that the place is decorated so beautifully; just like a real home not some soulless rental property. The host, Stephen, is amazing, responds instantly to any sort of issue, very accommodating.

This historic property proved ideal for our 4-day family get-together of 8 adults, 3 children and 1 dog. We found the house, its furnishings and appointments both beautiful and welcoming. The house is so spacious that everyone could spread out comfortably. (The other positive reviews that precede this one do not exaggerate -- so I needn't repeat its great features.) Extra touches, such as orchids in the downstairs rooms, were much appreciated. The pool was a highlight for both kids and adults. Stephen was great; before I finalized the rental, he went out of his way to help me determine if the house was suitable for a 4 year-old grandchild with limited mobility -- which fortunately it was.
We loved our stay and hope to return again!

Very grateful that we were able to stay at this fantastic house after a Christmas night fire at our home. The house was a much-needed refuge during this time as we were working on long-term temporary housing.
Our grateful thanks to the hosts!!!!!

The property was great. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. Within 30 minutes of downtown. Highly recommend this house!

Our extended family was in town for a gathering. We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the extra help that the owner gave us. The location, amenities and sleeping capacity allowed us to be reunite and enjoy the weekend.

The property is even more beautiful than the pictures, which cannot possibly do it justice, and was a perfect place for our family to gather for our son's wedding just a few miles away. It was spotlessly clean, free of clutter and decorated so interestingly with unique antiques, a wall of books, and mostly leather upholstered furniture, which is why it can be dog friendly but also feel and smell clean all over. It is an older home, packed with charm. The sun pours in the multitude of french doors all day and the warmth of the mixture of wood, terracotta tile and natural stone floors are warm and family friendly. The house has a beautiful flow, high ceilings and many interesting spaces. It felt luxurious and homey at the same time. The master suite was just a few steps up from the other bedrooms, not to far but so private. The bedding was fresh and there were more than enough fresh fluffy towels stacked up in every bathroom. Outside it was a gardeners paradise. We gathered around different seating areas, enjoyed the fire pit at night, with beautiful lanterns adorning the expanse of patio. I was able to situate my father in a cozy little bedroom with a private bathroom right outside his room. My grown children spread out and enjoyed every corner. Supermarket, eateries, etc. within a mile or two...but behind the locked gate, a wonderful private estate. WE LOVED IT!!

For those who appreciate a bit of history and want to accommodate 12 adults, this home is fantastic. The layout is perfect to find place for everyone to get together (large dining room, living room, outdoor seating area), while providing privacy and spacing to everyone.
We loved having the grill (which is large and new) to make quick and easy lunch for everyone. Plenty of Dishes, Flatware, etc. Also things like saran wrap are provided, so the kitchen is equipped with everything but food, drinks, and napkins.
The laundry room has large W/D, detergent (which you normally don't see), an ironing board and nice iron. These came in handy, especially for freshening up wedding attire that people had packed in their suitcases.
The weather dropped down into the 50's/60's right before we got there, so we weren't able to take advantage of the pool. However, we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and enjoying the outdoors.
The TV room off the kitchen was great for watching the Steelers/Browns game.
The little apartment was perfect for our 2 nephews (19 and 23) to give them their own space.
It's an old home that comes with charm. Our nephews want to come back and rent it for a week just for everyone to spend time together!
Stephen is great, and always responded to my questions quickly.
The wedding festivities were at Pomme, and staying at the house made the whole weekend more special than if we were to stay at a hotel.
A few of us went down the street to Magerks, and that was a great place to get a beer, have some pub food.
I would highly recommend it.

We stayed as a family (12 of us) in this home while our neice was getting married in Villanova.
Beautiful property and super comfortable. There was room for all of us to gather as well as to be spread out. The pool was wonderful was the main gathering space
Sleeping arrangements were wonderful!!
The kitchen was well appointed and we had everything we needed. Wonderful State park and walking trails near by.
We were very happy with this home and would definitely stay here again!!

This house can’t be more amazing. My bridal party and husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend. We had an amazing time getting ready for the wedding, enjoying the pool the days before, and just generally relaxing around the house and yard all weekend.
The house itself is incredible. The tall wall and gate make it feel so private. The large driveway fit our cars with ease. We used both the main house and the carriage house. Our wedding was in late August so it was quite toasty. The carriage house was a little warmer, but we brought an extra fan just in case. The main house provided fans in each bedroom and generally the AC was very good in the main level and in the primary suite. The Wi-Fi worked well.
The rooms were beautiful, historic with a modern and European feel. You can feel the history as you walk through.
There is a TV room with games, which is where our groomsmen spent time on our wedding morning. A huge dining room gave us the perfect lunch spots, and it was perfect for our makeup artists to spread out their things. The gigantic living room offered beautiful naturally sunlit pictures and accommodated our whole group of 12 at once. The adorable sunroom off that space was perfect for our hair stylist to set up her station.
The kitchen was incredible, we even prepared a hibachi style dinner one evening on the stovetop. So much space, it was a perfect space to gather everyone for breakfast.
The primary suite is huge and beautiful with an incredible bathroom that provided nice little details like a robe, lots of towels, and even little cotton pads. We supplied our own main toiletries.
The house has a jack and Jill bath between two bedrooms, and another full bath on the second floor for the last two bedrooms on that floor. The primary suite has a walk in closet that is connected to another single bedroom, but this bedroom and primary suite each have their own separate entrances on the “top” floor.
The pool was perfect for the hot weekend, and there was so much outdoor seating and lounge space. We brought a bunch of pool floats but the hosts provided some as well!
We overall had good communication with the hosts. I would recommend mentioning intentions to bring any pets when booking, this almost caused us an issue. Otherwise, Stephen was very responsive and helpful!
We are so glad we could spend our wedding weekend here, it was a magical time and would highly recommend it to medium to larger groups!

It's an old home that is slowly rejuvenating itself. My family felt rejuvenated after staying. Thank You for sharing your property.

This was the third time we have stayed at Stephen's property and it was as amazing as our previous visits. The house is beautifully maintained and this time there were many upgrades including new doors/windows/fridge/huge TV. The spacious kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook a great meal, and there are plenty of lovely spaces to relax - inside and out. The children in our party LOVED the pool, which Stephen kindly had cleaned for us after a big rain. They also loved the fire pit, where we roasted marshmallows, and the first floor of the carriage house which had ski ball, darts, and ping pong.
The location is fantastic - close to a farm where you can pick your own fruit/flowers that my kids loved as well as a magical arboretum. My children are constantly telling me that they want to go back to Pennsylvania, which they understand specifically to be this incredible property!
We had excellent communication with Stephen throughout. He is the consummate host who makes sure everything is taken care of and replies quickly when you have a question about how to work something or where to find something. The fact that we have come back here for a third year says it all! Cannot possibly rate more highly. Thanks again for another wonderful stay!

The bridal party for my wedding stayed here for 3 days, including the day before and after the wedding. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we made. The house is beautiful and spacious, and the common areas were great for meals and just hanging out during down time. I don't think the party would have had nearly as great of a time staying at a hotel.
Getting ready photos in the master bathroom were amazing. All four bridesmaids and both moms were able to use the mirrors at the same time! We used the downstairs sitting area for groom getting ready photos and those were equally great. The lighting was amazing and all of the rooms have a great view of the beautifully landscaped yard.
We are so happy we stayed here and extremely thankful to the owner, who did a great job communicating with us.

Wonderful villa, space, amenities kitchen, grill, and pool. Some deferred maintenance which is almost inevitable with a large old building but nothing that limited our use or enjoyment. We had a great vacation. Steven is a really good host. He is available, accommodating, and helpful. The only problem is the one-zone AC for the three story building. Granted our stay was the hottest week of the year with temperatures in the 90s and humid each day. We supplemented the upper floors with large fans which we have learned to bring on our summer vacations and had a wonderful vacation.

This place is great. Huge house with plenty of rooms and a great pool and patio. Definitely a great option for bigger families - we had way more room than we needed for a family of 5. My 4 year old daughter kept calling the house a castle :)
But we really enjoyed staying there and got lots of use out of the pool, grill and outdoor dining area. Highly recommended. Also ~30 mins from Sesame Place if you have young kids and close to Philly too.

My family and I stayed at this property from June 23 through the 26th. We lost hot water on the 24th. I reached out to the host, but it wasn't until several hours later that he responded. By that time, the remedy had to wait until the following day. A plumber arrived the next morning, but it was
not until mid-afternoon that the situation was resolved. We were without hot water for nearly 24 hours. When I contacted the host for possible recompense for the inconvenience, I was told to write the review first. That seems a final step to me after which I would have no recourse, nor would I be able to report the outcome in the review.

This is a beautiful home! There is so much space and it worked well for 7 adults and 5 young kids. The pool and grounds are stunning. The kitchen is very well equipped and the patio space is so comfortable for outside dining. Although the house is on a busy road, once you’re inside the gate you don’t notice it at all. Our group had three generations and the rooms work well for family clusters with small children. The host is very helpful and provided quick answers to our questions. We all wanted to stay longer and hope to be back.

We met up with a whole bunch of family for a wedding Memorial Day weekend. The house was just perfect for hosting small gatherings of our family as they came into town. Everyone had their own space and was very comfortable! Communication with Stephen was great! Thank you for a wonderful weekend in Flourtown!

My husband and I rented this lovely property to serve as a home base for our wedding weekend. Its size allowed us to enjoy the company of family and friends throughout the festivities and it’s proximity to our venue, The Highlands, was incredibly convenient.
Stephen’s communication was timely and clear. We greatly appreciate all of the effort made to ensure we and our loved ones could really relax and enjoy our time together.
Thank you so much — we hope to have the occasion to stay in your beautiful home again one day!

It is difficult to find a place to accommodate our 3 daughters, their mates and 5 grandchildren. The Flourtown house did just that. Our host Stephen was attentive and kind. The house is tastefully furnished and the pool and outdoor space kept us together/apart. The house is on a traveled road, but once you turn into the gate, the outside world kind of disappears.

Bedrooms for all 10 of us, terrific kitchen, huge dining table, loads of outdoor space, beautiful pool. Entire home is furnished and decorated in the most amazing style, a real home not a bland, corporate rental filled with cheap junk. Stephen is a great host, very responsive. Whole experience was just great.

The property is as described but I don't think it fully reflects how spacious the house feels once you arrive. We actually didn't use a full half of the house because we were traveling with kids and there are numerous fragile things on one side of the house. The pool was glorious and we had everything we needed thanks to the host (towels, toys etc). Seamless contactless check-in and the host Stephen was accessible and clear in his instructions. The property backs up to a body of water of some sort so bring your mosquito repellent.

Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful property - very spacious with room to spread out - indoor and outdoor spaces were fantastic - created relaxing getaway like a little oasis. Close to Philadelphia so easy driving.
Host was always accessible and very responsive.
As other reviewers mentioned - house is well stocked in terms of kitchen/dining. Great quality appliances. House was larger and had more rooms than we realized. Interesting history to the home as well.
Pool was great - other reviewers did not mention but plenty of pool floaties available. There were gates to pool - so child safe. Also large yard area - firepit, gas grill, multiple seating areas.
Indoors - loved the living room and sun room, but also had eat in kitchen, and sitting room (complete with board games).
Owner very thoughtful and detailed with directions - so make sure to read (ex. house is a bit hidden which was a good thing).
Would love to stay again!

Such a beautiful property. Every aspect of this house was so mesmerizing and clean. The kids and adults loved it. The pool is beautiful, we even had a nice bbq. Stephan was so kind and answered right away when I had questions. All in all, it’s even more beautiful in person and it’s right next to the city. This stay was unforgettable.

Typically we rent a beach house each year for our family to spend time together but we were looking for something different for my mothers 80th birthday. It has been quite a year and we were in need of family time for sure!
The house and grounds are beautiful. There are seating areas indoor and out that accommodate a family gathering comfortably. The pool is large and has very nice loungers to relax in.
The landscaping is beautiful there are so many flowers to attract butterflies and birds.
I absolutely love to cook and the stove in the kitchen is amazing. Double ovens , a grill it is a real professional stove that was fun for the family to enjoy cooking together. We were able to cook/eat and enjoy each other with in this very spacious kitchen.
We ate every meal at the house because there was just no need to go out.
The Weber grill outside is also very nice with natural gas so there is no need to worry about a tank.
I have rented many VRBO homes for our family gatherings and I have to say this was the best stocked house we have rented.
There are enough plates, pans, glasses, flatware, service dishes for everyone in our party.
There was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizing cleaners, soaps, trash bags and even coffee and tea.
As an extra touch when we arrived there was a bottle of Champagne waiting for us. What a nice way to start our celebration.
This historic home was not the usual venue we choose but we all agree it was an amazing experience. The grounds are so beautiful we took the opportunity to have a professional photographer come and take family photos.
Our stay exceed our expectations and Stephen was very kind and easy to communicate with.
Definitely a wonderful experience.

We spent a long weekend here, celebrating my daughter's graduation from college, with family and friends. Absolutely beautiful house with SO much space for entertaining and gathering. We hosted a graduation party for friends and family for about 50-55 people. The grounds and patios and pool area are SO spacious and absolutely beautiful. The pool is large and a highlight of the backyard. Rooms were as listed, although the listing does not do the Primary Bedroom justice - it is stunning, as is the Primary bathroom. Kitchen was a cook's dream and so many guests commented on the kitchen and the sunroom - my two favorite rooms in the house. The kitchen is well stocked and to our delight there were more than enough champagne flutes for our congratulatory family toast - over 16 flutes! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely return. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 on cleanliness was that the Primary bathroom's trash had not been emptied upon arrival, which felt weird and was odd. And the carriage house was dusty and a bit unkempt - but that was okay. Everything else about this beautiful home outshone these things. Fresh flowers everywhere and a welcome bottle of wine were lovely and above and beyond what we typically expect. Thank you Stephen!

Stephen was a great host, he responded quickly and made the check in and out process a breeze. The house was as pictured. The kitchen was great! Everyone enjoyed using the griddle stove. The weather wasn’t great so we were unable to use the pool but the house had enough space for all of us to relax and have a great time together. There were enough seats and beds for 10 people and we never felt crowded. On our last day the sun finally came out and we were able to enjoy the deck which was beautiful! Can’t wait to come back again

This is iconic house, fully equipped, fresh flowers everywhere, neat, clean, friendly and unbelievably spacious. Wish it was summer with pool, trails, woods!! Stephen, the host, reacted to every request regarding turning on TV and power switches. My wife lost one of an expensive pair of earrings. As we checked out, we texted Stephen. Apparently Cleaners found it had slipped under a side table lamp. He fed exed that afternoon.Third VRBO—-fun and worth every penny—esp during Covid!!

This property is fabulous!! It's spacious, warm, and glowing; perfectly clean,; tastefully decorated; fully equipped in every way; cozy spots to decompress; fabulous kitchen; great art work; and many interesting things to look at. We were there in winter and the house was warm everywhere. We are eager to stay again in the summer so we can enjoy the gorgeous property outside with pristine pool and back patio. Stephen is.a remarkable host. He is kind and was patient with my many questions. He checked in on us to make sure all was well and he left us a friendly welcome note and generous gift. We've rented many properties and this was by far our best experience yet!
