Located in Jonesport, this charming cottage for $250 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Welcome! In the quaint fishing village of Jonesport America, there lies one of the only white sandy beaches in Downeast Maine, Sandy River Beach. From the Maine Rose cottage, you can witness the most beautiful sunrises on one of the most eastern points of the United States; you can listen to the seagull’s cry and the squeal of laughter on the beach. You can also enjoy the late afternoon summer sun as you enjoy your cocktail while your toes are in the sand and you can fall asleep in the evening listening to the surf and feeling the rhythm of its heart. The Maine Rose Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 3/4 bath oceanfront escape either for a romantic get-away or a quiet family seeking the convenience of being on a private and rare white sandy beach. Bring your kayaks and hiking boots for your outdoor adventures in nature. This is NOT a party house, but rather a quaint cottage with quaint expectations. Amenities include gas stove/oven and heat, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and fans. The master bedroom has a California King bed. The second bedroom has a queen size air (Sleep Number) bed. There is also an inflatable twin mattress. Wi-fi. Best of all, there are rocking chairs to read in as you watch the waves and the birds. There is an outdoor little deck with an Adirondack chair for your morning coffee. Outdoor grill and lobster/clam pot. Picnic table. 2019 Improvements include a drilled well, renovated master bedroom, new roof and new driveway. 2020 Improvements include CA King size bed in master. New (sm.) gas range. New floor/walls in kitchen. Refinished/repaired rocking chairs. Non-smokers please. No pets. Please no third party reservations. No events or fireworks. Available June through September.

Staying here was everything we had hoped for. We were 4 adults (seniors) and couldn’t have been more comfortable! The views were stunning, toes in the sand on beach 10 seconds from the deck! We absolutely will come again!

Lovely cottage, everything you need is there. We bought lobsters directly from the wharf, pizza was a quick drive, grocery store close by! And the BEACH is awesome! The owners have done a fantastic job keeping these cabins looking good.

Mark and Dawn’s cottage - Maine Rose - is a sweet, comfy, perfectly located cottage. The views from the cottage are amazing and the beach is steps away. Mark and Dawn are terrific hosts. Very responsive and welcoming. Hope we are able to come back soon and spend another weekend at the Maine Rose!

Was looking for a homebase between Acadia National Park and the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. This fit the bill and then some! The view was beautiful, the place cozy and Dawn & Mark excellent hosts. They anticipated needs, communicated well and were just the sweetest! Definitely a recommendation for friends!

I just can’t say enough nice things about this property and the location! The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the beach, breathtaking! My family has been in this area for over 200 years and although I live in Kansas City now, this will always be home to me. If you’re looking for a place to unplug and relax, this is it! There’s a reason my grandmother called it “God’s Country”. My husband and I would definitely stay at the Maine Rose again. Daily walks on the beach, trails nearby, good food. What more can you ask for?

Dawn and Mark were so nice and provided us everything we needed to enjoy our stay at the Maine Rose. It was my mom’s first visit to downeast Maine and it was a memorable one. We can’t thank Dawn and Mark enough.

The property was as lovely as the hosts were gracious. We had a very pleasant time in this cottage on a stretch of sandy beach looking out at the islands and the bay. We got up every morning to drink our coffee and sit in rocking chairs to watch the sun rise over the water. What a treat for us! Twice each day the tide went out allowing us to walk out to one of the islands and explore what the tide had left behind. The cottage contained everything a family would need to live comfortably. It is furnished with beautiful antiques and decorated with great care. It was beautiful and cozy and exactly like the pictures on the website. I could have spent the summer right there in the cottage and been very happy. We visited Rogue Bluffs Park in Machias and ate our dinner in Machias most nights but that was through choice. It would have been easy to prepare all of our meals in the cottage with its well-supplied kitchen. We visited Eastport and the West Quoddy Lighthouse Park and walked the trails. Otherwise we stayed at the cottage. This was easily the most peaceful vacation we have ever had. Thank you, Mark and Dawn, for sharing this oasis with us. We have used VRBO a number of times to find vacation homes in Europe and now America but this quaint little cottage stands out as my favorite. I hope we are able to return again and again. The Maine Rose

Dawn and Mark were wonderful to rent from. The property was spotless and they had thought of everything, from a fully appointed kitchen (not a utensil, pot, pan or lobster cracker missing - we had everything we needed), to a foot wash for the kids to clean sand off from the beach and a laundry line for their sandy clothes, we had everything we could ask for in a relaxing family getaway. The beds were super comfortable and the view was spectacular. We even had some properly huge LLBean coffee mugs from which to caffeinate as we started our mornings looking out over the sea. It was a truly special vacation. Highly recommend!!
