Nestled in Block Island, this lovely house for $999 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. **2024 bookings open now - only a few weeks left!** This classic Block Island cottage boasts the best location for beach lovers with only a two-minute walk to Mansion Beach, the island’s most picturesque bathing beach. One of the first four vacation homes built here in the 1950s, the home was first expanded in the 1980s and updated in 2018 with a completely new kitchen as well as new hardwood floors, exterior windows, interior & exterior doors, and platform beds and mattresses. Both of the bathrooms were renovated in 2022. The cottage has four bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and two full baths (one in the master bedroom suite). Thanks to the open plan of the kitchen, living and dining room, you can always enjoy the ocean view and watch the ferryboats passing by. The wrap-around deck has the same eastern view and is the perfect spot for breakfast or sunbathing. With large, level lawns in both front and back, the property is great for wiffle ball, frisbee, soccer, kite flying, and nighttime stargazing. The house sits high and usually enjoys cool cross-breezes, but there is central HVAC if needed. Please note that the house rents from Friday to Friday, when car reservations are generally easier to get. Your rental fee includes use of linens, bath and beach towels, beach chairs & umbrellas, and a BBQ grill. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and utensils and the washer & dryer were brand new in 2021. Our family has owned this house since it was built by our grandfather, who first visited Block Island in the 1920s. We will be happy to share our intimate knowledge of this beautiful place, including the best hikes (like Clay Head Trail, which is nearby and could figure into your daily exercise), restaurants, nightspots and shops. But once you are on the property and settled in, you might find you don’t need or want to go anywhere else!

Beautiful house and the location was just what we wanted. The photos don't do it justice. Only complaint would be the really early check out and late check in times - that was hard to manage with the family and I should have noticed when booking (my fault). But Jane is wonderful to work with and I highly recommend. The whole family loved it.

The house is great. Very clean with four bedrooms, open concept big living room and kitchen and huge yard. Location could not be better with very quick access to Mansion Beach. Jane was a terrific host. Highly recommend!!

Location and proximity to the beach was just what we wanted. Great living space, comfy beds, great beach equipment I wish the bathrooms were a bit cleaner. I know my family would love to make it an annual event!

Truly the perfect getaway. The location made gearing up for the beach unnecessary, no planning, just put on your suit and walk down. No fear of forgetting something, just walk back. The open flow of the house made it easy to keep a little distant while chilling together, but still plenty of places to be alone with a book. We cooked and baked several times daily and were quite happy with cookware and storage. Clean, well thought out kitchen. Bright and open with lots of counter space. It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

This house made for a perfect late summer getaway. The layout of the house is amazing with a modern kitchen, nice size bedrooms, and plenty of space to enjoy time with the family. The location to mansion beach is prime, whether you want to sit on the beach with your morning coffee or spend the entire day in the sand, it couldn’t be any easier as the entrance is literally right across the road from the house. Also, from the time we intially booked the house right up until the time we checked out, the owner Jane was extremely nice to work with and easily accessible to provide info or answer any questions that we had. I would highly recommend this property to anyone tarveling to BI.

The house could not have been at a better location, it is literally just a minute walk from the beach. It was spacious, and beautifully updated. The previous renters flushed down a diaper, which caused major plumbing issues, and we were not be able to get into the house on time, had no running water, and could not use the bathrooms in the house for a few days. It was out of Jane's control, but she was working closely to the property manager, plumbers, and us to resolve the issue. She let us use the loft above the garage, and we worked out a solution that suited both her and us. We had a wonderful vacation despite the rocky start, and we can't wait to come back to BI!

Located just 200 yards down a country lane from Mansion Beach, this longtime family-held property made for the perfect Block Island vacation in which the beach was an integral part of it - morning, noon, and night. We had a really great week staying here. House was really comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with pots / pans / knives etc. Bedrooms all comfortable with fans / AC. Location is amazing - mansion beach is a 3 minute walk...forget a drink / towel / book? Quick stroll back to the house. Jane was very responsive and the area guide is great.

We can’t say enough great things about the communication with Jane especially given the COVID environment. The house was clean and a perfect size for our family. We were able to easily walk to the beach each day (even my 4 year old). We look forward to returning next summer!

What a beautiful home! You walk into a beautifully renovated kitchen, a big open living space to spend time with all the family. Don’t worry about bringing anything for cooking or the beach! The house is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, so many towels, there’s no way you can run out! Extra sheets, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, a beach cart, we were amazed by the amount of little things they remembered that we would have forgotten! The house was spotless, lots of parking, a huge yard for little ones and the dogs! The dead end road was perfect as traffic was quiet and the beach is a 3 minute walk! We can’t wait to visit again, thank you Jane for sharing your home and making our vacation so memorable!
