Exactly what we needed! Beautiful home with a breathtaking view at all times. Gracious host! Close to everything, able to enjoy Portsmouth and thier warm community, Newport and the cliff walk, Providence for a nice city vibe, and New Hampshire to hike the moutain. Each day returning to this wonderful shore house. When we come back to R.I., we know where we will be staying!

This home is amazing! The attention to detail of the home and the views did not disappoint. Every detail is geared toward comfort and relaxation. It was very quiet at night and the beds are quite comfortable. The house was spotless. Jan and John are wonderful hosts and were very generous with a welcome basket and a fully equipped kitchen. We cannot recommend this property highly enough!

This is the second time we have stayed at Jan and John's home and, if possible, we enjoyed it even more than the first. This beautiful house has amenities found in luxury homes, gorgeous views and amazing sunsets. During the past few years we have visited Portsmouth five times. This is our favorite property by far. Beautiful home on the shore. Relaxing atmosphere with every convenience provided. Sparkling clean and within minutes to Newport, Bristol, and other lovely areas. We enjoyed our stay, sampled local foods,
and marveled at the view daily.

This was our sixth year at the Beach House. We are native Rhode Islanders retired in Florida. Our stay in Portsmouth let’s us reconnect with friends and family while enjoying the beauty and special energy of Narragansett Bay.
The Beach House is beautifully located, designed and built. It is quality throughout and the Hanks family is helpful and friendly.
We love it and have already booked for next year.

The house is equipped with any and everything you might need. Not sure we can ever find a better place than this property. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in this beautiful Shore House. Owner Jan is a lovely person and takes great care of every detail. We stayed for 3 wks and did not want to leave. By far, this was the best VRBO property that we have ever rented--over 20 years! Jan and John's home is immaculate, an exquisite architectural design. They went beyond any expectations of amenities, cleanliness that we ever expected. Jan was available for any questions that we had and is a kind, kind woman to takes meticulous care of this property. Kudos to her and her husband. Book early--or you will miss out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay--and wished it could have been longer. Being so close to the water--was breathtaking. It didn't matter is the sun was shining or not..the magic was there all the time. It was quiet, calm and soothing. What else could anyone want to decompress. Loved, loved, out stay!

This house is spectacular! My husband and I spent a long weekend here celebrating our anniversary, and it felt like we were living in luxury! The house is incredibly clean and well stocked. Jan has thought of everything and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We enjoyed all the treats that she left for us! The location is perfect! It was so nice to wake up to gorgeous bay views, and it was so easy to visit Newport and Bristol. We will definitely be returning again!!

This house is spectacular! My husband and I spent a long weekend here celebrating our anniversary, and it felt like we were living in luxury! The house is incredibly clean and well stocked. Jan has thought of everything and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We enjoyed all the treats that she left for us! The location is perfect! It was so nice to wake up to gorgeous bay views, and it was so easy to visit Newport and Bristol. We will definitely be returning again!!

Fantastic rental. We have rented here at least five times and we plan to come back next year. House is beyond clean, the views are sensational. You literally feel like you are on top of the water from everywhere in this house. Very upscale appliances and comfy beds. Love it!

We could not be happier. Great host, location, convenient, gorgeous views and great neighborhood walks. Great snacks/treats upon arrival and very available and unobtrusive help if needed. The rental is wonderful. Swimming at high tide and clamming at low tide is great fun. The water is clean and Portsmouth is a great jumping off point for Bristol, Newport, Providence and Boston. Beautiful home
This home was amazing! The hosts were amazing also! Jan met us at the house to go over how things work inside the home, where things were located, and to hand us the keys. She also had snacks and a few items for morning in the fridge for us. It's a beautiful view from the back porch over the water. Home was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. When we left, her son met us outside to thank us for staying. We thank you for allowing our family of 4 to stay in your home.
