This spacious house was designed and built in 2013 to be the perfect vacation retreat - its plantation style allows it to blend in with the historic neighborhood, while offering every modern luxury. Outside is a barbeque grilling area, a garden shower accessible from either the master bath or from outside, and under the Plumeria Tree is a landscaped 5 person hot springs style hot tub. Enjoy the 2 master, air conditioned, suites with plush king beds, flat screen TVs, pedestal tub, and outdoor garden shower, and full size front load washer and dryer. The open plan great room opens up to the large lanai with 22 feet of 8' high folding doors, and the 9 1/2 foot high walls, vaulted ceilings, large double hung windows, and ceiling fans keep the place breezy and cool. Both bedrooms are air conditioned to keep you comfortable all night long. The kitchen is equipped with a full sized french door refrigerator, whisper quiet dishwasher, gas range, walk-in pantry, granite counters, open shelving, and fully stocked. The sound system through out the living area as well as the lanai is set up for surround sound TV watching, listening to Pandora, or you can wirelessly listen to your own music collection from your smartphone. Two couples loved the location for walks, snorkeling, wildlife viewing. All the amenities of home are a very short walk to the beach. Hosts provided a thorough introduction to the house and the neighborhood, as well as on point recommendations for excursions.

We come to Kauai annually but this was our first time on the south end of the island. Highly recommend Poipu for young families and this listing! So many gems at this beautiful property. To list a few: the outdoor shower was to die,
indoor/outdoor floor plan was perfect for our toddler to run in and out of while still being able to watch him and make dinner, easy walk to the beach allowed us to go there a few times a day without a big fuss. The house is fully stocked with all that you need included a beach cart, umbrella, chairs and sand toys we used daily. Hosts were very easy and friendly to communicate with. Can’t wait to return.

The location of this lovely cottage is prime! A very short walk (1/2 a block) to the best boogie boarding beach Brenneckes and just a skip across the park to poipu beach and turtles galore. We counted 30 one evening. The cottage itself is lush. We all loved the outdoor shower, perfection. And we loved that it came with all the beach goodies you need including a wagon to cart it all around in! The two sets of fold open doors give you a real indoor/outdoor living feeling and let in the nice ocean breezes. We opted for AC the first night but ultimately found it more enjoyable leaving the house open at night. It’s really quite comfy! Our kids loved the place as well. We would not hesitate to return to this little slice of paradise! Thanks Brent..the banana’s were the best!!

If you want family relaxation with ALL the amenities this is the place! This home is so well thought out, clean, and provided everything we needed for a stress free and relaxing family stay. We loved our daily and evening walks to Poipu Beach. Our favorite features besides the location was the art work in the cottage, opening the doors to the lanai, the hot tub, and the outdoor shower! 5 stars and a huge MAHALO to the owners for creating and sharing Ke’ola Cottage. We can’t wait to return!

My husband & I very much enjoyed our stay at this home. It's an easy walk to Brennecke and Poipu Beach, where sea turtles come in to rest every night. While Brennecke had strong waves which were fun to get tossed around in, Poipu has a sandy, more shallow section which is great for children, but it opens to an area in which many people were snorkeling.
The house has excellent LG appliances, and plenty of cookware and dishes for eating in. If you go, don't bother buying coffee filters - there are LOTS. I was impressed by the magnetic door stops, which kept doors from slamming when the strong breezes swept through the house. (Bedrooms have a/c, if you so desire. They were nice units above the beds, not noisy window units.) There is an outdoor shower which connects to one of the indoor showers, making it easy to wash off sand before you go inside after the beach. There were plenty of beach towels and chairs. Also, snorkel equip (although the fins were too big for my 7 1/2 size feet.) Beach umbrellas, boogie boards, beach toys. I loved the lanai, and the fact that all the lights could be dimmed.

Karen and Brent have created the absolute PERFECT vacation home. Aptly named Keola (meaning "the life"), every detail and desire has been thought through and considered for your stay.
The binder is like the holy grail of information - which is obviously lovingly updated to ensure you have ALL of the best information.
This beautiful location has access to numerous water activities, beaches, restaurants and more. The cottage is fully stocked with a wagon, beach chairs, beach toys and bodyboards.
We loved the foot washing station, numerous hooks outside to hang our wet towels and leave our shoes at the door.
We are already planning our return trip. You will not regret this decision

This is a perfect cottage with everything you need to relax in style. The home is beautifully constructed (by the owner, Brent) and contains beautiful artwork painted by the owner (Karen)…like staying in a beachside gallery! The perfect size for our family of 4. Convenient access to beaches, shops, and Poipu Beach Athletic Club. Karen and Brent are wonderful hosts, and we can’t wait to come back! Mahalo!

We stayed in this lovely cottage for our 25th Anniversary trip. It was clean, convenient to the beach, and had everything we needed. The owners provided easy to follow instructions, as well as, recommendations for the area. The cottage was spacious for us. Would have been perfect for 2 couples as it has two masters. The location was amazing! Less than a minutes walk to Poipu Beach, walk across the park for another minute and you are at Brennecke’s Beach. Saw many Sea Turtles and Monk Seals at the beach. They just hang out and swim all day then make their way to shore to rest in the evenings. Volunteer Naturalists on the beach were very informative about their species and protecting them. We had a car and drove the entire island seeing sights. We also hiked a lot. Easy to get to trails from the cottage. Some within walking distance. Many restaurants and 2 shopping villages near by. The patio was perfect in the mornings and evenings for relaxing. Thank you for the beach supplies too! We had a great week and highly recommend this property.

Absolutely fabulous stay from start to finish. We have been to Poipu once before and stayed in a condo complex, but having our own beach cottage was amazing. Check in was seamless and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. Outside space was so nice after a day at the beach to come relax and feel the ocean breeze. This beach cottage is a gem. We enjoyed our stay so much. Every morning having our coffee on the spacious and beautifully furnished lanai we could hear waves crashing on the beach. Lush sugar cane sways with the breeze and is mesmerizing as you relax to the sounds of the ocean and nature. Beds and furniture super comfortable in the home and the kitchen has everything you need. There are beach toys, chairs, umbrella and a handy wagon to use for it all on a very short walk to the sandy beach. There are several great restaurants near by and Poipu shopping village has great shops, Whalers Market, and free hula shows! We truly enjoyed our stay and Karen is a great and attentive hostess/manager. Love the handy binder on the coffee table that answered all our questions! :)

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place and wished we would have booked it for longer. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, but only a few minutes walk away from beautiful beaches (with sea turtles and monk seals) and within walking distance to several restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping malls.
The house is beautifully decorated well stocked. We especially loved the porch / lanai.
The host had lots of great local recommendations and was always very responsive and easy to communicate with.
We definitely will stay here again on our next trip to the South Shore.

This property did not disappoint. Very clean, well kept, GREAT location and the hosts, Brent and Karen were very responsive and flexible. My entire family loved the place. It was well stocked and the way the place was decorated was just very conducive for nice family dinners, conversations or just chilling out. We will not hesitate to come back and stay here again. Gorgeous property! The house is beautiful, clean and well outfitted. Beach chairs, umbrella, and beach wagon are provided, so walking to the nearby beach is a breeze. (Fun to watch the turtles swim in!) We also often walked to the athletic club: swimming in the sand bottom pool, playing pickle ball and using work out facilities. Relaxing in the hot tub was a perfect way to finish our days.

Such a nice home, beautiful finishes and everything worked well. The outdoor shower and hot tub were a highlight and the kids loved the soaking tub in the bathroom.
The outdoor porch is a nice area to eat and relax, read, etc. Very close proximity to the nearest beach (Brennecke's and Poipu) all within walking distance. Great little snack shop down the street that had smoothies and great puka's dogs. Their shave ice was not very good, was chunky. I'd recommend Uncle's or the shave ice stand across from Beach House instead. Good location for seeing all the Poipu area. Everyone loved the stay.

There is a reason this property has all 5 star reviews. It was exactly what we were looking for - relaxing lanai, walking distance to great beaches, clean and well taken care of. This house is maintained as if it is your own, not a rental. This is the first VRBO stay we’ve had that actually had an organized kitchen! They have included so many extras that make your stay easy, including beach chairs, umbrellas, boards, sand toys, coolers, towels, and the ever important wagon for walking it all down to the beach. The outdoor shower was amazing and makes it so easy to get all the sand off before going inside. We have young kids and loved having access to Poipu Beach Athletic Club to use the pool, slide, and keiki sand bottom pool. You get the great beaches and pool access without having to stay in a hotel. This was a perfect stay and we will be back!

The stay at this Poipu cottage was perfect. Extra care is given on the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the property. Very clean and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially taking our morning coffee to the beach to watch the sun come up. Owner is super responsive. I would highly recommend this vacation rental!

This property is wonderful! The location is perfect and a short walk to Brennecke and Poipu beaches. It's just as the photos represent... this well appointed cottage has lovely artwork, a large living room area, well stocked kitchen and walk in pantry, two bedrooms with walk in closets and luxurious bathrooms with lots of bath and beach towels and beautiful lanai. We enjoyed the air conditioned bedrooms however the main living room area and kitchen has no air conditioning and would get VERY warm during the day and even throughout the evening despite using the fan. This made it difficult to spend any length of time in the communal areas. We also had an issue with flies, but were able to solve that when Karen helped us to locate the fly swatter! We were able to see turtles at Poipu beach easily at dusk when they came to rest. We also appreciated the use of beach chairs and binoculars that were provided. There were some delays in responding to messages prior to stay, but Karen responded quickly to our texts once we were there! Thank you!

This was our second stay and we loved it even more. Spacious, well decorated, functional, amazing location and oh so Hawaii. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house to make visitors stay even more effortless. We were curious to see the condition of the house after several years and it has maintained its charm and overall quality of furnishings. Highly recommend it.

Our two teens could walk to the beach on their own schedule which worked out perfectly for us. This trip we explored the green belt and found we could walk to the Hyatt and Shipwreck Beach as well. Cannot beat this location - so close to the beach. Gorgeous home. Comfortable lanai. Our family of four enjoyed this house again this summer.
