Nestled in Sierra Nevada, this charming cottage for $229 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This charming private cottage with beautiful views of the mountains is a great get away for a couple or small family to relax and explore. You'll enjoy the private "country" setting and the proximity to the several Gold rush towns of Mariposa area. Just over an hour, through our "Wild and Scenic" Merced River Canyon, is Yosemite National Park. This cottage has a 1 bedroom with a full loft, which looks out through the large 2 story windows to the mountains. There is a fully stocked kitchen with all modern appliances. We offer basic spices, coffee and tea. During the cold months, you can enjoy a nice glass of wine or hot cup of chocolate snuggled up to the wood burning stove. The wood for the stove is always fully stocked. It is close to the Badger Pass winter sports area and ice skating in the park and Tenaya Lodge. We offer his and hers snowshoes and snow sleds for a fun day in the snow. The bedroom and loft are appointed with comfortable queen beds and a sofa that turns into a very comfortable double bed (There are reviews verifying the comfort of the bed.). The towels and linens are high quality soft cotton. The loft has a comfortable sitting area to read and relax. The library provides a wide variety of books, games and puzzles. From the living area you can walk out onto the private deck with seating for 6+, a gas grill and a hot tub. The hot tub is right off the deck, which you can relax and soak up the incredible view of the sierras or star gaze in the evening. All year we provide a herb garden and in the summer we grow yummy tomatoes for the guests to enjoy. We also have a beautiful home on the same property, which is private and separate from the cottage. I planned a trip with my spouse a couple of friends to explore Yosemite and decided to book this home. It was a beautiful cottage out in the mountains away from any busy streets or noise. Coming from the bay area, it felt great to wake up and hear nothing but birds chirping and the wind rustling through the trees. The massive windows facing nothing but mountains on the back side made the vibes that much more serene. The hot tub and wood fire heater in the home were an added delight. I would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect place for a simple getaway for myself and 2 daughters. We enjoyed the hot tub and the scenery surronding it. The stars were amazing at night.

I got this cabin to make glamping easy for my parents. Everything was well prepared and setup for our visit. Susan and Brian were very responsive and hospitable. I recommend this place if you dont want to be too close to Yosemite and all the tourism.

We had a wonderful stay with Susan over the week of Thanksgiving. We particularly liked the back porch and jacuzzi. Even though it was cold outside, the fireplace kept us cozy whenever we needed it. The large and well-appointed kitchen was just perfect for our needs. The beds were super cozy and warm and the living room was super comfortable. Susan was there whenever we needed to talk to her, even making sure we had an extra set of towels when my sister came. Just a fantastic time! Thanks, Susan!

My wife and I stayed here for our one year anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The cottage is fantastic along with the view and hot tub. Getting to and from Yosemite was easy and a gorgeous drive. Contact with Susan was easy and she was extremely accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again!

This cabin was exactly what I was looking for! Big windows with a beautiful view of the area. Everything was clean & in good condition. I loved using the hot tub on the deck while star gazing. Communication with the host was great. If I’m ever in the area again I would definitely stay here!

We highly recommend this secluded cottage retreat. Has nice outdoor deck and we loved sitting in the spa under the stars at night. Enjoyed the kitchen as it was fully stocked with everything we needed, including fresh coffee beans for coffee each morning. Hosts are very friendly and got back to us right away when we reached out to them. We would definitely stay here again!

Property exceeded expectations! Communication with the owners was excellent. Very helpful in advising on how to plan our site seeing. Property was very clean and accommodating. View from deck was great with plenty of birds and wildlife to view. Hot tub was amazing and great for relaxing after long days of hiking. Located at a reasonable travel from Yosemite Valley and other site seeing opportunities. Downtown Mariposa has a very nice small town vibe with enough to keep you occupied for a stroll through town. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back in the near future!

Our stay was relaxing and peaceful. The place is perfect for 4 adults. Comes with all basic amenities and hot tub was a great plus. It is a bit of drive to Yosemite but it worked for us anyways.

Lovely, quiet location in the oaks. Lots of windows & light. Excellent outdoor deck, spa and hangout areas. Well appointed kitchen. And air conditioning! Deer, wild turkeys & woodpeckers. Close enough to town but also the advantages of being just far enough away for that quiet, natural environment to soothe the soul.

The cottage is located perfectly from Briceburg where my family loves swimming at in the summer. The town is also not far. The place was quiet during our stay, we enjoyed the jacuzzi and grill. The owners keep the cottage well equipped, including even emergency equipment. We would stay here again :)

The property is a lovely country cottage with easy access to lots of nature. The hot tub is perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking. The place is stocked with everything you could need for your stay, and the host is super responsive with any questions or concerns. The hosts, the accommodations far surpassed anything I could think of! Something as kind as a bottle of wine waiting for us to the softest sheets and towels I’ve ever used! Hosts were incredible! We visited Yosemite which is about an hour away. Would recommend this place, these hosts to everyone… they will not disappoint!

We enjoyed our two day break. We used it as a base to visit Yosemite. Was not too far. Easy drive too. Cottage is clean and had everything one would need to be comfortable. Kids watched a movie, we enjoyed a glass of wine and the view. We all enjoyed the games. Hot tub was a bit too hot for us but still a nice touch and nice to use for short time at night under stars. Saw deer in the early morning. I’d stay again Thank you!

Everything about this stay was incredible. The hot tub wasn’t working when we first got there, but Brian was out in less than 30 minutes and got it working. It’s a little less than an hour to get to the West entrance Yosemite. It was perfect for the two of us. I’d go back any time!

The VRBO is about 1 hour from Yosemite, in a private area, in a beautiful location that is quite far away from cities and towns. It’s the perfect getaway for a lovely secluded weekend. The full kitchen is ideal for meal prep if you plan to go into the park and great for a nice dinner at the end of the day. The jacuzzi is a huge bonus, especially if you have been hiking through Yosemite and need to rest your body. I highly recommend this location!

This is our 2nd stay and I highly recommend this cozy cottage rental for a family of 3. My son loved the loft and tree swing, and making fires in the stove and outside as well. Communication with Susan was easy and super responsive- she was a great hostess and kind. The gifted wine was also delicious! Mosquitoes were a little fierce this time of year so use the provided OFF or bring your own bug spray.

We had a wonderful time here. It is a nice secluded spot but close enough to all the amneties at mariposa and a beautiful 50 minute ride to yosemite. We enjoyed the deck with view and hot tub and our 3 year old played in the garden. Susanne and her family will make sure that you have everyhing you need and give almost immediate response if you have a question. Thanks so much for having us!!

This property was so beautiful and relaxing! Just enough room for the three of us to be comfortable and enjoy quality family time together. We got the chance to bbq dinner on the grill, soak in the hot tub, & roast marshmallows. Such an amazing view to wake up to and come back to after a long day exploring Yosemite.

Met some wildlife on the property. A couple baby bats flying over head and a family of deer came pretty close. Loved the ambiance of the lighting on the back deck. The bottle of wine greeting us was a nice touch. Would recommend to others

This was a beautiful cottage. We had everything we could want and need at this cozy home away from home. We really enjoyed the hot tub and scenery! What a special little spot! Highly recommend!
