Luxury accommodations include granite and stainless steel kitchen-fully equipped; bar/lounge area with wine & beverage cooler; large master bath with Jacuzzi tub, and tiled shower, 2 main floor queen bedrooms, 1 lower level full bedroom, and 1 full and twin bedroom. Front porch and side yard seating along with walk-out level screened porch with view of the woods, hot tub, and patio with fire pit. Master bedroom has skylight, private bath, and walk-in closet. Quiet and tranquil neighborhood across M-63 from Hagar Beach Park. Easy on / off access to I-196, Exit 7, or M-63 / Blue Star Highway. Eight miles from Saint Joseph, MI (Silver Beach) and 17 miles from South Haven beaches. 35 minutes to Saugatuck. All beach towns offering unique shops, restaurants, great beaches and parks, boat rentals and more. 10 - 15 minute travel time to many local wineries and wedding venues: 12 Corners Vineyard, Blue Dress Barn, Vineyard 2121, etc. We have parking for approx. seven vehicles maximum. No RVs or campers. There is no public transportation near by. Guests have the entire house for themselves. Pet fees: $50 per pet for the entire stay, no more than two pets. Keep pet off our furniture. Let the owner know you are bringing pet prior to check in. The ice maker in the fridge is currently not working. I will update once i have it fixed. Minimum age of primary renter is 25 Maximum parking is seven vehicles / no campers. NO vehicles may be parked in the street. This is a nice property with everything you need to relax. The hot tub was nice but it created a ton of foam which was weird for a hot tub. The beach was accessible by crossing a busy road but we didn’t mind that. The wood fireplaces were a great touch and there were plenty of places to lounge. The kitchen was pretty well equipped.
The cleaning though— left a lot to be desired. We found candy wrappers in our bedroom, indicating it had not been vacuumed at all and it was clear they only washed the bed sheets as the duvets were dirty and stained.

This is our second time staying at this property and we enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for two families (4 adults and 5 kids total), able to spread out and relax. Easy walk through the woods to the public beach (as noted you have to cross what is essentially a freeway to get to the site so while it is a short walk I wouldn't recommend with small kids), the woods are lovely, good amenities and nice cozy ambience in the home. The beds and bedding are not the most comfortable or updated and there are signs of wear/etc. in the bathrooms but the value for a home so close to the beach and absolutely great communication and ease of checkin balance that out. Also so grateful to get to bring our dogs.
Highly recommend nearby Jollay Orchards for a fall visit too. There is not much that is super close to the home (not much of a town to speak of and limited dining options in Coloma) but an easy drive to St. Joseph for more restaurants and stores (and we did find local pizza delivery).

Communication with the host was prompt, thorough, and above all, friendly. The home had several board games for the kids and several areas to gather. It was in close proximity to several beaches and was easy to find. If I were to offer any area of improvement, I would share that the house could have really used new bedding on most of the beds. The fitted sheets were very lose/worn, the comforters needed to be laundered, and the few pillows were very flat/old.

Pros: My family really loved this place. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was perfect for all of us, and we especially enjoyed walking to the beach or driving to St. Joseph if we wanted to.
Cons: The place could use a deep cleaning but was NOT dirty by any stretch. The bed in the master bedroom was not the most comfortable, and the sheets in the master bedroom were worn out and felt like sleeping on sandpaper.

Beautiful home on beautiful property. Jacuzzi was awesome. The home was clean and many kitchen items we were not use to having at other rental homes. It was a great place to have a girls weekend!

The Woodshore Retreat is a great house that was perfect for our family get together with 6 adults and a 2 year old. The living space is huge and very comfortable. A true open plan that makes it fun for the entire group. There is one large room with the kitchen, dining area and lounge area with a huge TV.
The kitchen is well stocked. It's secluded in mature woods but just a 5 minute walk to a nice lakeside park that has a fun play area for kids and a nice sandy beach. The hot tub is an added bonus and it was great to sit around the fire pit even if it was December. Valerie was very accessible and was a pleasure to work with. We will be back!

The property was perfect for our family. The layout couldn't have been better for our 3 generation getaway. The house was tucked away in the woods, very private. The beach was a short walk through the woods. The wifi was great so checking in with work was a breeze. Streaming televisions allowed our grandkids to watch Disney in the early morning so our " big kids" could sleep in! The house was very clean and with more than enough amenities in the kitchen and lots of towels and blankets. The owners were quick to get back to me with a few questions I had and resolved a small problem quickly. We go apple picking in Michigan every year and this house was close to many venues. Also close to restaurants, wine tasting and shopping. We also enjoyed two evenings around the fire pit. And the hot tub was a big hit!

Beautiful property in the woods with a quick walk to Hagar Beach. Our family and dog had an amazing stay. Very clean and spacious. We had more than enough space to spread out. The kitchen was nothing short of amazing. Cooked most of our meals in. A quiet relaxing vacation with family. We loved how close south haven and St Joe were. 15 minute drive north or south. Thanks so much for sharing your house with us.

Like staying in a posh tree house
The house is amazing, even nicer than the pictures. We loved the kitchen and living room area which is wide open so you can hang out with a large group. It also has two walls of windows looking out at the trees. We went in July so the every thing was green and looked like we were in a tree house. The path to the beach was nice. We took it every day and packed a beach bag and canopy easily. However if you are taking a cooler or wagon you would want to drive it. Valerie was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend this place for a quiet relaxing vacation.

Awesome views of the woods, a footpath that leads you out of the neighborhood and to Hager Beach, and very quiet. The light switches were a guessing game, but we eventually figured it out. This property is close to St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, Holland and several other beaches/tourist spots. Nothing we wanted was more than 45 minutes away. It was good to come home to our nest in the woods. This property also has a washer and dryer -- with 4 kids, this was important.

Great family gathering place!
Our immediate family shared this house when we traveled to Benton Harbor for our daughter's wedding. The setting is very tranquil in the woods and there was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy. The walk to Hagar Beach was not too difficult through the woods and we were able to catch a little beach time after all the wedding events were over. The hot tub was a nice bonus for relaxing afterwards too! The only down side was that the washer and dryer didn't work, but we were warned ahead of time that they were waiting for parts, so we were prepared for that. The grill could also use a good cleaning! Overall, very comfortable and we will have very fond memories of our stay here.

Excellent!
Our family went to Michigan for vacation and really enjoyed this property. We had 9 adults and 3 children and were very comfortable. It was within a 10-15 min drive to St Joseph’s which was awesome for the kids and 25 to Saugatuck (Take the Dune Ride on the Jeep!). Our only issue was the toilet in the basement did not work for our last 2 days which was inconvenient but communication to the owners was prompt and pleasant. Would stay here again!

The owner sent helpful directions prior to our arrival. The house was comfortable, perfect for a relaxing long weekend. The hot tub was large enough for our whole party. Close to a park with access to the beach. Great experience!

Woodshores Retreat is a gorgeous home and property as pictured on the site. The cleaning crew was still there when we arrived eventhough it was over an after after check-in time and they explained that the people before were not very clean so that wasn't very comforting but when we were finally allowed to enter we were very pleased. The property manager informed us that she would not be able to fix some minor issues like the lights out in a closet and a cracked toilet in the master bathroom but that didn't turn out to bother us.
My biggest disappointment was the communication upon checkout.
We tried to reach out at about 830 because we got a late start and were traveling with lots of children but didn't hear back so we hustled as best we could because we wanted to be sure to leave a clean space behind us.
Well unfortunately, after packing up the fridge I left our small cooler basket that was filled to the brim with deli meats, cheeses, 2 boxes of butter and other frozen items to be grabbed on the way out. After reaching out a day later after we were home and unpacked I was informed that my food was all thrown out. I would have understood if this were open food that was discarded but since my food was so clearly packed to go I really would have appreciated a call so I could have returned while I was still in the area. I was very disappointed to say the very least.
