Located in Ocean Beach, this attractive house for $395 per night is a great choice for your next break. Spend your relaxing beach getaway in our recently remodeled and updated 2 bedroom, 1 bath property on the water in San Diego's unique community of Ocean Beach. Enjoy our perfect location on the fenced back yard patio including several sitting areas, an outdoor table, a gas grill, and a door leading right out to Dog Beach. (We love dogs and do not charge extra for pets!) Your vacation experience starts with an off street parking spot right in front of your door. Just inside the door is the newly remodeled living room with a brand new couch and 50" 4K Smart TV. Fiber wifi and cable are included, with streaming apps accessible through the TV. The couch has a convertible bed for additional guests as well. Down the hall is the larger of the 2 bedrooms with a queen sized bed, a TV with Roku and a large closet complete with an assortment of fresh robes and slippers. There are extra blankets/pillows in the closet. Further down the hall is the spa bathroom complete with tub/rain shower, vanity space for 2 and a glass pedestal sink. The shower is lined in slate style ceramic tile trimmed in slate and limestone and the vanity area and back splash are glass mosaic tile. There are plenty of fluffy towels to pamper you and a powerful hair dryer. The back of the house features an open area including a new kitchen, dining table, and lounging area with a door out to the patio. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, appliances, and utensils for your convenience. The adjacent lounge has a small couch, lounge chair, a wicker rocker, and another flat screen TV with DVR access. The second bedroom houses adult extra-long bunk beds along with a built in desk and another closet complete with fresh robes and slippers. Its window looks out onto the patio and back yard. There are also 2 twin air beds with linens. Walk out the back door and you will find the renovated patio with deck, gardens, and plenty of options to enjoy the outdoors. Relax under the sail shades or soak up the sun in lounge chairs. Here guests may also be greeted by our friendly resident pup, Kairo. Outside the back gate is our newly constructed game area. Horseshoes anyone? Just beyond is the paved path out to the beach adjacent to the San Diego River estuary, a wetland sanctuary for birds such as blue herons, snowy egrets, pelicans and osprey. The beach on the left is for people and the beach on the right is Kairo's favorite spot, a unique off-leash area for dogs to run, swim and socialize! All beds have Select Comfort Sleep Number mattresses (queen with dual controls) so you can adjust the firmness to any degree and as often as you like. The pillows are encased in hypoallergenic covers that are washed after each use. We are happy to share that with San Diego's new Community Power options our home is now powered by 100% renewable energy sources. Worth noting: Like all of Ocean Beach and much of Mission Beach we are less than 10 miles from the airport, so planes do travel overhead. We have insulated the walls and roof of our property, and the City of San Diego requires that take-offs and landings cease between 11:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Most guests say they seldom notice the planes inside the unit though for some guests they’re a mixed blessing. However, watch the skies closely and you could catch a glimpse of a fighter jet from nearby Miramar Air Force base which was the setting for Top Gun.

This is now our favorite place to stay when we need a beach fix and want to take the whole family, including the dogs. Perfect amenities (we appreciate the dog bowls and blankets), accurate description (the airport noise doesn't bother us), and what a great back yard and beach access! We loved watching the water birds in the slough, too. The whole city of Ocean Beach is dog-friendly, and everything we want is in walking distance. Greg and Clara are gracious and attentive property owners. We will be back again. And again!

It was the most amazing place ridiculously close to dog beach... once we went out the backyard to the walking path you can see the beautiful beach.... the weather was amazing for October.... you can walk to dog friendly restaurants within 15 minutes.....

This property was excellent. The owners thought of everything to make us comfortable including the dog-friendly part. They had dog toys, bowls, and even blankets. The house was immaculate, the backyard was inviting and comfortable, the beach indeed was as advertised, and the owners/hosts were highly responsive to questions and other communications. I LOVED this place and will definitely be back again! I highly recommend it!

It was a great stay! Beautiful backyard, clean home.

Owners were extraordinary- great communication and even made sure the BBQ was ready and clean.
The backyard has a hose and shampoo for dog washes after long walks on the dog beach.
The parking space was definitely tight- BMW 5 series barely fit. But parking was also available on the street.
Will definitely stay again!

Pluses: For dog lovers, you can't beat this location, right on an awesome off leash dog beach. Just be aware that planes take off over the house about once a minute during daylight hours. Host lives upstairs and was communicative and helpful.
Minuses: Only one bath. For the price, the place needs a little maintenance. Clothes dryer was broken. Water pressure in shower not very good. Would be nice to have a "welcome notebook" with explanations as to how to do things, places to go to eat and have fun, etc.

We have been coming to San Diego for year and always stay at Mission Beach. This was our first Ocean Beach stay and will be back for sure. Brought our 3 dogs with us and enjoyed every day letting them run around the beach steps out the backyard of this property. Nice secure backyard. Very comfortable home with enough room for all of us (4 people and 3 dogs) Carport fit my F150 with no problem. OB neighbors super cool and tons of great restaurants and shops walking distance. House has everything you would need and a lot of extras. Owners super cool and ensure there will be a great time for all. Thank you for sharing this special home with us!!!

Our experience was exactly what we hoped it would be...a private setting in a clean, accessible home right next to a beach where dogs are the star attractions
And Greg and Clara have clearly worked VERY hard to make sure every household item you could possibly need is at your fingertips
The absolute only thing we needed that we couldn't find in the house (and it's probably because we stopped looking) was dental floss!

If you want a wonderful place to take you and your dog on vacation, this is the place. Greg and Clara offer everything, from a dog wash station so you don't have to deal with sand in the house, to 'provided dog' towels to an unbelievable location from sunrise to later than sunset... this is the place. We loved the relaxed location and we were warmly welcomed by the hosts. There are beach chairs and coolers and even a corn hole board if you 'need it'. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. Thanks so much !!

Positive aspects: Back entrance borders a large marsh area with walkways and a 10 minute walk to dog beach, lovely and very dog friendly. Owners have clearly attended to detail inside and kitchen & bathroom are lovely, although inside lighting is poor. Property is bottom unit with tenants in an upstairs flat. In marginal, crowded area with seedy motel on the block and unhoused individuals on path to beach. Security system is problem, no key or electronic lock on back door and back gate lock is easily accessed by reaching over the top. We allowed our 40 pound Goldendoodle to be in the "enclosed" backyard for a brief period and she went missing. A woman across the busy street was taking off with her in her car when she heard me yelling and said, "I have your dog" at which point she released her, allowing her to run across 4 lane boulevard to us. We still don't know how she got out to the street from the backyard, which does appear "enclosed," but back gate leading to beach path is a vulnerability and someone may have tried to take her. Our experience of the beach and location remains positive and we are so thankful Marley is safe and back with us but this part of it was alarming.

The property is great for anyone looking to take their dogs to dog beach. It’s clean and lots of supplies to help with your stay. Walking distance to some stores and restaurants. Will be looking to stay here again in the future!

Such a great location! House is pretty small but it’s great for our handicap pups to walk to beach , they had great time , the place got everything that you need it , only thing was dryer doesn’t work so I can’t finish drying all towels before we leave, but for sure we will be back soon ! Really nice place ! Thank you !

Wish the grill had been cleaned. It wasn’t usable at all.
Also, the parking was not usable for our vehicle. A warning on the height and length would have been very useful, very important in planning our trip.

The location is not directly on the beach but access to Dog Beach is a hop, skip, and a jump via a walking path behind the house.
The house is so comfortable and stocked with necessary supplies minus food and drink.
It's a walking neighborhood - the pier and Newport Ave is 1/2 mile away with small marts in between.
Awesome restaurants within walking distance - Kaiserhof (German restaurant) 1/2 mile down the street actually had schweinhaxe - delicious.
The seafood restaurants near the pier were fantastic - great food at very reasonable prices.
If we will return if we have a chance.

Hubby and I went for an anniversary getaway and brought our two small dogs. All amenities were provided; paper products; bath towels, shower products, and the kitchen had enough dishes, pots, pans, glasses, utensils, etc. There were even a few things in the pantry which came in handy before we could get to a grocery. Walking out the back gate to the path to watch the sunset, and relaxing on the patio was so enjoyable. The yard was perfect for the dogs. It's just a short walk to the beach. Parking our full sized truck in the carport was a challenge, but my husband carefully did it. There is street parking but it's across the street. The jet noise took some getting used to. It is a nice place and we had a great time. We would stay again. Thank you!

The property was very dog friendly, it really was steps to dog Beach so we could just open up the back gate and walk to the beach. They had towels and blankets to cover furniture to keep everything clean. Great rental!

We had an amazing time. We had no idea how close we actually were to dog beach and it was spectacular!! Waking up in the morning and having coffee on the patio, then taking the dogs to play on the beach was priceless. We left with full hearts and happy dogs. Can't wait to go back!

If your dogs are top priority, this is the absolute perfect vacation rental! Everything, inside and out, is set up for families to include their 4-legged members! And right outside the fully fenced backyard gate is the path to the best dog beach imaginable! We wanted to celebrate a milestone birthday with our whole family (pups included) and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to do that!

We initially didn’t book this property but after other booking issues this property came available and saved our vacation! It had a great set up for our kids and was just a quick walk to the beach! They had tons of items for the kids to play with both at the home and to take to the beach. We had an amazing time!

We had a lovely stay, the place was set up nicely and had well above average TV watching opportunities.
The outdoor area was lovely and relaxing, the location to all things San Diego was perfect and it was luxurious to have a dedicated parking space. Best of all was the access to the beach and the walking trails along the San Diego river. Our dog Zoe had the vacation of a lifetime!

It was truly amazing great location (walking to food and right on the beach) the hosts made everything super easy. Loved that we had a secure backyard to leave the dogs in and my 3year old loved getting to sleep in a bunk bed. We will be going back. Highly recommend

Greg and Clara were the best hosts I have had. I felt very welcome. The kitchen had everything I needed plus a jet engine blender! They are very thoughtful in what they provide. I would absolutely recommend to others and come back myself.
