Cute and comfy cottage with fabulous view

This adorable wooden cottage was just perfect in every way for my four days in Savusavu: kitchen was well equipped, bed was superbly comfortable, and the view over the bay was spectacular. Jan was an extremely helpful and friendly hostess. I loved the peaceful location a few km from town, which was great for walking, swimming out front, and birds/nature. I hope to be back some day!

I liked it all, but the only thing that would add to the experience is access to a bicycle, although taxis and buses regularly pass along the coastal road so transport was not an issue.

Superb

Location. Approx. $6.00 taxi ride to Savu Savu town makes it easy to access markets, eateries etc. Friendly and welcoming host. Ease of check-in/check-out. Thoughtful build and set-up in and around the cottage. Ample open space to relax and soak in the sun. Stone's throw away from the Bay makes it easy access for activities.

Absolutely lovely house. Full of character. Lovely position. Sea view. Near the town 3/4k. And Jan was super helpful. Near the best snorkelling. So much to do.

Jan and Ian went above and beyond in every way. Couldn't have been better hosts. Good snorkelling just over the road and really good snorkelling easy walking distance

Sadly, we only had 6 nights but could certainly have stayed longer.

Crème de la crème

The view from the cottage was just breathtaking🥰- a break away from everyday mundane life. We loved everything about it..our host Jan,was very welcoming and friendly, made our stay even more special. Will definitely visit again.

That we didn't book/stay for another 3 nights ...ahaha...

Hidden treasure

Location, owner/host, staff, accommodation, cleanliness, gardens, provided supplies. Jan and Ian were so gracious and helpful. Jan actually went way above and beyond to make our stay amazing. I will definitely be back to stay at The Gingerbread Cottage and Studio!!

Everything was perfect. Comfortable home away from home. There are some stairs to get up to the cottage from the road so you need to be able to traverse them to stay at this property...not a deterant if you are capable.

Cute cottage, big views, great hosts and excellent location

Where to start … the cottage is really cute with big views. There was more than enough room for a family of four. Location was perfect and the hosts are lovely. Jan was both helpful and always available yet we also had our space and privacy. We will definitely return.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gingerbread Cottage.

This is a fully equipped comfortable cottage not too far from town with a beautiful view of the bay.

Lots of steps up to the cottage.

Perfect escepa on Vanua Levu

The cottage is just perfect, loved the style. Also having the option to swim/snorkel across the (very very quiet) road. The fruits. And the people :)

Honestly, nothing. Obviously, transport is a tiny challenge, but that's part of the charm of the place. And it's still easy access, taxis can be cheap too.

Clean, comfortable, well-equipped beachfront property with an abundance of attractive features.

The house was excellently presented with an extremely high standard of cleanliness throughout. A well-equipped kitchen plus comfy beds made our stay pleasant and the beach across the road has a reef that is ideal for snorkelling with lots of colourful fish to look at. The owners are nearby and keen to help and offer advice on local activities.

We liked almost everything. The property is about 5km from Savusavu centre but the road is flat and there are buses plus taxis that use the road. We had no problem getting into town quickly and cheaply but some might view this as a slight drawback. However, we think this is part of the attraction and the house is outstanding value.
