A place for back-packers to stay 2 nights on their way to the mountains. Not indicated for families.

The location is good. You will find a parking space in the road around the hotel without too much trouble. The hotel organizes trips so it can be a starting point for travelling around the mountains. There was not issue having our mid-size dog with us with this hotel. I would only recommend the place for back-packing travellers who do not mind steep stairs, a cozy (no clean) aspect to pass through on their trip to the mountains.

When we arrived the operator did not want to respect the booking and tried to send us away. I think they sold the room at a higher price and wanted to get rid of us. May-be it was an honest mistake, but this was not my read. The English ability of the operator is not good, so I could not have solved the issue without my chinese speaking girl-friend. Anyway, we ended up in a different room, which was smaller than we had booked. The hotel as carpets that really need a deep cleaning. Overall aspect is not a clean one.

Great

The room was nice and comfy, although it was -10 degrees outside. The owners were super nice and help us to organize all the visits around. They also get us a car to Lijiang. Blue speaks English and give us some recommendations. They give you tea and some fruit in the reception all the time. We definitely recommend this place.

Although everything was great, we missed some details: hand towels in the bathroom and a couple of bottles of water. Also, take into account that depends on the season of the year, the bar/restaurant is closed, but you could find some good places nearby.

Exceptional

Room had character, a good size, warm and for the room rate this is excellent value. Good location.

Restaurant does not appear to be open - but then Shangrila is quiet at the moment so fully understand.

The owner was so so helpful in organizing a 4 day trip to Yubeng. Can’t thank her enough - it was amazing!

The staff was welcoming and nice Tibetan feel

Great home inn but no breakfast

We liked this place, but were very disappointed by the no breakfast offer that was announced. See picture bellow what we saw when we entered the guesthouse, kids were like yeah finally a good place to have western breakfast but when we asked they said no sorry we don’t provide any western food since no foreigner can come China... but we were there. Anyway it it a good place to stay in Shangrila just better remove those offers so you don’t get disappointed.

Great place, lovely rooms. Would recommend, just be careful when you pay extra for the breakfast.

The place is very nice. Big rooms and service was friendly. Very pet friendly too as they have a golden retriever.

When checking in the staff told me we didn't have breakfast the next morning. When checking out I reviewed the booking details and turned out we paid for breakfast. Had some issued getting a refund for it which wasn't a pleasant experience.

Amazing!!!

The space was great. Bed was comfortable. The people especially the owner helped us out a lot but providing recommendations of food and things to do around the area. A few hiccups during the stay such as a power cut but dealt with efficiently and effectively. Great communication on wechat. Location was perfect! Dog was the cutest. People were welcoming, many English and traditional food around. Take note that there isn’t food at the accomodation except hotpot but as previously said many food options in close range. Will definitely be back.

It can tend to be a little noisy but other guest who are roaming the guesthouse area. Typically late at night and early morning.

Homely snug welcoming

Such hospitable hosts.. I have returned a number of times and treated like family. In the cold the rooms so cosy the shower hot ..very snug .. great location
