The place you need to stay at in bocas del toro

This is an amazing hotel that stands out as one of the best that we ever stayed at all over the world. The location is amazing right on water and in an area that is quieter than bocas town yet close enough by water taxi. Snorkeling can be done right at the hotel where you can see a lot of beautiful fish and even starfish. The owners are amazing and so helpful in figuring out the best activities. Breakfast is delicious. Rooms are updated and very beautifully decorated.

Beautiful, clean property with incredible hosts.

JP & Mandy are incredible hosts. Breakfast was great. Always friendly, attentive, helpful service. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great sunset views. Even had a mini-fridge, hot plate and microwave so you could cook your own meals. Short, $1 water taxi ride to Bocas Town where there are more restaurants.

The property is located across from Bocas Town and at night there is loud music across the water. Also, for 16 hours a day water taxi's fly through the channel in front of the hotel. Mandy and JP do the best they can with noise machines to cover the noise, but strongly recommend ear plugs. Mandy is working to get the town to enforce their noise ordinance.

Unique and wonderful family getaway spot :)

a quieter and more unique option than the hotels in the town of Bocas, but still so convenient and close. The owners are fantastic people and hosts, so welcoming of our family with young kids and attentive to every detail. They had everything we needed and more- paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, games, sunscreen etc. The breakfast was top notch! If we come back to Bocas del Toro we would absolutely stay here again!! 10/10 recommend!!

Lovely place close enough to Bocas Town

There are only 4 rooms (2 downstairs, 2 upstairs) all with a great view over the water facing Bocas Town. A $1 boat taxi brings you there in minutes which is really a pro (as that is where most shops are and tours depart). JP and Mandy are great hosts that do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Enjoy great breakfasts in the common open air sitting / dining room / kitchen, relax at your own veranda/balcony in front of your room or swim around (or under) the hotel (good snorkeling).

Boat taxi's fly by every few minutes (which makes it easy to catch one) but they can be noisy. Also the sandflies / no-see-ums are plenty even though our hosts try hard to minimise the hindrance (such as providing fans and oil). In our case: as with mosquitoes they like my wife's legs and arms a lot more than mine and she had many red spots after a few days.

Great little place to relax

JP and Mandy were both so great! They were a joy to talk to, gave us plenty of good recommendations, and truly made you feel at home.

Only one thing that got us was the sand flys, but even then JP and Mandy and plenty of solutions to help with them.

Amazing property in the perfect location, only $1 boat taxi ride from the hotel to the main Bocas Town. Great amenities including free kayaks and paddle boards. The hosts were super accommodating and let us check in a couple hours early since we got there earlier than the check in time. Great breakfast at the hotel as well! drinks and water available. Drinking water provided in the room. Beautiful views that you won’t regret! It felt like we were staying in Bali!! There’s a bunch of lovely dogs on the property which is also a plus!

Absolutelly wanderful place, away from the hustle of Bocas town but still so close only 1’ boat ride Brand newly refurbished rooms, cosy feeling and cool new owners. They make you feel you are home. One of the best places i have ever stayed

This was one of the best accomondations i have ever had.Mandy and JP are excellent Hosts.Friendly, hostile and help you wherever they can The room was very big, clean, and furnished tastefully with attention to Details... Each room has a Veranda with a Hammock,Fridge,table and chairs to relax... You can take the SUP or Kajak and go for a ride Taxi Boat to Bocas Town is USD 1/ Pax and they will pick you up at Casa Acuarios pier Super Mercado in walking distance 5 minutes Best Place in Bocas del Toro

Best place to stay in Bocas!

We loved everything about this place. The photos don't do it justice. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable with high quality bedding that is uncommon on the islands. The whole place was tastefully decorated - it felt like a luxury resort. The balcony was heaven for lounging and watching the boats and sea life swim by. The location was great - easy and cheap to get to Bocas town but it faces out towards the sea so you get a better view. To top it all off, Mandy and JP were incredible hosts, made a killer breakfast, gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations, and let us use their bug repellent (even let me use their Zyrtec when the bugs got through my defenses). And the icing on the cake were the adorable and very sweet island dogs that have chosen this place as their home!

The only thing that could be considered a downside is that due to the proximity to Bocas town you get a little bit of music carrying over the water at night. It didn't bother my husband at all, but for light sleepers like myself, they have white noise machines in the rooms and even provided ear plugs in case you're extra sensitive. Just another example of their attention to detail!

Mandy and JP did an amazing job to make our stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible and they were successful. The rooms are great, spacious and cozy, direct access to the water to jump in in the morning (even from the 2nd floor, if you dare to). Excellent breakfast, great company (humans and dogs). Sure 10 out of 10 points, even if you are not a member of the surfing crowd.

The party people at Bocas town are not exactly a quiet species and you will hear music and voices over the water at night. But there are noise reducing devices in the rooms, that helps.

Go here, I travel mucho.

The Banana pancakes, the people who cooked them, Jp and Mandy are your hosts and take care of you, they are great people. The room is big, real big and beautiful. I have an air bnb. I wish I could present my home as well. I will always stay here.

They should include a bit of liquor with your choices. Tequila ?

Five-star island stay! Just...WOW!

Casa Acuario exceeded all our expectations. Staying in a five-star hotel on turquoise water would be unaffordable in most places, but somehow new owners Mandy and JP managed to combine warm hospitality with beautiful, clean and restful facilities - from the super comfy beds to the shared play deck. You can literally just wake up and roll into the warm Caribbean ocean and the hotel has its own jetty for water taxi pick-ups 1 minute to Bocas Town. I didn't want to go home, and I can't wait to book another stay! Perfection.

I didn't like that I had to go home...
