Review of Hostal Campinh la Y griega

The hostel include the camp tent, so you do not need carry your tent or sleeping bag

1) The hostel is locate to 3.5 km from the center in a region without access to supermarkets, hospitals, etc. You are forced to pay $1 travel to the center each time you need buy food. 2) The kitchen and livinroom is inhabited by 3 cats that catch your food everytime you move from the table...It is a very stressful situatiion. 3) -The hostel do not accept credict cards, only money 4) The hostel rules are not obey by some people. Some travelers smoke in the kitchet even when it iis not allowed, and some couples remains speaking all the night.

Large tend, felt like a private room. Mattres was very comfortable. Cute cats. Owner and staff very friendly.

It is a long way to the nice beaches and also the town center but taxis are pretty cheap

great budget stay and nice area.

it was a quirky hostel that was a great budget place to stay! it had nice chilled vibes and was clean.

some of the tents were a bit hot - not enough fans blowing around them.

Simple & budget friendly place to stay

Friendly volunteers & guests, lots of shade, everything worked - all good! Away from noisy party vibes of town, close to swimming beaches.

cheap and friendly place to stay for your time in Bocas, in a good location and good amenities

Cheap for its proximity to Bocas, with the taxi only being $1 into town. The room was comfortable and staff were happy to help with any questions

room can be a little loud due to the number of tents staying on the roof above the room. Also, the communal areas were only adequately clean

everything was super nice. Very eco-friendly which we appreciated. The host was amazing and so was the overall atmosphere. Kitchen well equipped.

Neat place!

I really liked the eco conscious focus of this hostel, you could tell right away they are mindful about being resourceful. They're also the most affordable hostel in Bocas that I could find, if you're investment focus is purely price. I do feel that they could work on answering phone calls, doorbell rings/knocks, whatsapp text alittle more efficiently and timely. Just so you're not waiting outside for 25 minutes like I did, lol.

Already stated that in what I liked, (the last 2 sentences).

Glamping adventure

The outside bathroom was nice. The sleeping space and bathrooms were clean. It really felt like a mix of camping outside in nature and modern society. Bring bug spray tho.

The kitchen constantly had flies.

Very good

It was lovely that the owners arranged a meal for all the guests on new year's eve. The volunteers really kept the place clean and in order. The best part was the lovely bunch of people that we were lucky to meet staying there at the same time. Super nice place to meet like minded travellers.

The mattress was quite dated and gave me backache after a few nights there. The kitchen equipment could do with an upgrade. That is not to say we didn't manage with what was there. A kettle would be great for morning coffees.

Very good

Cheap and easy stay. Bit out of town, but only a dollar in a taxi to get there. You'll wake up to the call of howler monkeys in the morning.

Very good

The stuff was very friendly and the tents are in a nice area clean because they don't allow shoes there. The wifi works well and even if I stayed there during a massive water shortage that affected the whole island they still managed to keep the place clean and treat us guests in the best way possible. They were all super nice! Also it's wavy season so the sea it's more for surfing than for swimming but the beach super close to the hostel is actually very nice, the water is flat most of the times and it's clean and take only two min walking.

I think the price is a but too much when booking a single tent. I was with a couple of friends that shared their room and decided the cost and in that case I think it can make sense. You could probably find a hostel with a real bed for less in the town if you're by yourself. The location is good if you want to be a bit isolated but the town is not super close and around there's not much to do. There's either a taxi option or the bike rental option to move around and you could also walk to Bocas town but it would take 30min and the road is not the best at night.

for the money a good place to stay. they tried to make it homey. don’t expect too much luxury, but we enjoyed the stay.

I loved the fancy camping experience and the cozy atmosphere. Definetly worth the money!! Nice beach close by!

Its a very nice hostel, with a good kitchen and social area which makes it very comfortable. The cats are super cute. Staffs are nice, so everything is perfect for a nice holiday in Bocas :)

Would recommend for anyone staying at Bocas del toro, will definitely be returning

Helpful and friendly staff, clean kitchen, comfortable tents, shop very close by, hostel also has bikes for hire and the opportunity for a snorkelling trip

very lovely and comfortable place

Sleeping in the tent was very comfortable and also the whole hostel is just so cute and lovely. The shower outside with the palms and flowers over the head is amazing and pure. I once met the owner and his cousin and both were very lovely. i repeat myself but this place is just lovely and I would definitely come back !

Nice hostel. You sleep in a tent so you have a bit of privacy. The matresses in the tents are very comfortable. The atmosphere is very nice. It was clean so far! We would come again!

Sometimes there was no water so it was a problem for the toilets, but i think it was not the fault of the hostel but a problem of the whole neighborhood.

Good Budget Accomodation

cheap and green accomodation on the route to playa bluff and starfish beach. taxi to bocas city is 1$

Kitchen is very simple and not the cleanest one. Next Supermarket is like 5min by bike. Bar was temporary closed at my stay.

The 'free bicycles' are just for half a hour and it's just one bike. Just one plug in the room. The kitchen does not look super clean.
