Historic property
No coffee maker in room then the coffee bar charged for coffee. On my way home I realized I left my expensive shampoo and conditioner. I was on the road for only an hour. Called front desk and was told they would call me back. Never heard back

Made us return the beach pass by 11 am (check out) on Sunday
We had to purchase $8 passes
Super annoying and cheap of them after spending a significant amount of money for a weekend trip. Left a bad impression

The location is amazing. It is a beautiful, historic, place. Parking lot is convenient to the location.
The room has very bare minimum accommodations. They said our room was not ready much before the expected check in time but there was not much that seems to have taken place. We did not have hand soap but housekeeping was in the hallway and very quickly assisted with that. This place was very specific that you only had an hour after checkout to move the car or you would be charged (an exorbitant fee). We were able to move it as we wanted to still enjoy the day in Cape May but every other place we've ever stayed in town has allowed us to stay parked for as long as we liked that same day of checking out.

Breakfast was great! I loved the proximity to the beach and the town center
The room was unbelievably small and the wires and cords to the tv that didn’t work were taped to the floor. There were drill holes in our bathroom wall chipped paint everywhere and for the money you couldn’t even get free coffee and tea. We were going to see what their special deal was to book early for next year but when we asked to book a room for four they told us we wouldn’t get beach badges and would have to pay $50 per night extra for each of our children. We were booking a two bedroom suite. We opted not to come back

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food.
Nice rocking chairs on porch.
Room 507 very small and bed about three and a half feet high. Hard to get into. When we mentioned this at checkout, they said "oh, we have a stool for that room." Why didn't they mention that when we checked in?

Location is great, breakfast included (partially) is nice. Inn is super charming.
Beach chairs and umbrellas included should match the capacity of the room.

The location was great! But that is all !
The property was dirty. Was not cleaned up after the band. So when you woke up and went outside to sit there were cans, glasses etc all over. The rooms were very odd. No closet door! Locks that didn’t work. My sons room had a trundle that was dirty. Very expensive stay and not pleased at all.

The hotel is nice. It was clean. Staff were very nice. I texted when I had questions they answered promptly. The pool was nice. Chairs need cushions though not so comfortable. Food and bar were good! The hotel was abit expensive though!!Nice location walking distance to everything! Which was great.
Outlets in room need a fixing. Chairs at pool need cushions. They need to provide towels for the beach.

Location only.
Everything. Property is badly maintained. Room was ‘clean’, however there was dirty everywhere. The bathroom walls, pipes had been painted so many layers that the wall had hairs stuck to the paint.
The cut on the ceiling board to install the sprinkler seemed to have been forcefully installed by making a hole all around it. A DIY person would have it done better.
Totally overpriced. Not worth it at all, not even for the location. The room I paid a lot for a ‘an ocean view’ had a partial view of beach/pool that one had to stretch the neck to see.
I don’t recommend it at all. I feel I was cheated for paying so much.

Scary - dirty - old - bad value for money

The staff… Paige at Ocean 7 was so sweet
It was not worth the almost $700 a night. The sink in the bathroom’s counter top/sink was not attached to anything, also in the bathroom there was a hole in the ceiling around the light fixture that you could see in and a couple of bugs came out of, the TV’s did not work (but we did go into it thinking there were no tv’s so it was ok), the shower head almost came out when we adjusted it… we had to not touch it at all, there were opening at the bottom of the windows to the outside.

This is a lovely historic beachfront hotel that really tries to keep the tradition of a calm, relaxing beach vacation. There were excellent amenities, like beach chairs and umbrella included, and the atmosphere and location can't be beat. Our group spent a lovely evening on the porch with some great drinks and bar snacks. The service of the bellhops was really excellent.
The hotel is old and had some quirks- one of the lights in the closet wouldn't turn off, the bathroom door didn't latch properly and the room was smaller than expected. I also thought that the queen suite would have a single bed along with the two queen ones. But these are pretty minor and expected for a place that is this old.

the beach tags only cover one day ,since they count check-in at 4 pm a day.

Coffee should be available earlier than 7:00. 6:00 would be better.
The remodel is looking nice but there are growing pains. Seems like too much happening at once to focus on the people details.
No mirror in bathroom rm 216. Small bath but how do you shave without a mirror. New owner just needs some good managers on all shifts to look after the details.

Staff was amazing, only draw back was the A.C. could have been stronger. But over all great time. Will look to come back in August.

free parking and central location. covered porch was nice. Balconies had great views but chairs weren’t the best and the areas could use some updating.
no place to hang towels or literally anything in the room. no space to store bathroom essentials (toothbrushes, etc) in the bathroom.
no nightstand on the left side of the bed to keep a clock, phone or glass of water. room was stuffy. ceiling fans would be nice. windows didn’t stay up on their own.
in addition, We arrived a bit early before it was time for check in. The clerk at the desk told us that someone would call us when our room was ready. That never happened. we found out when we actually checked in, that we should have been given a beach, pass and beach tags when we arrived so that we would’ve been able to enjoy some beach time instead of walking around town killing time . That was disappointing. Some members of the staff were extremely friendly, while others acted like we were a bother .

it was beautiful and well maintained, great location,
great customer service
lack of cooling
