Che delusione!

La luxury tent non era per niente luxury, cuscini gruviera scomodissimi, oggetti vecchi e segnati dal tempo (candelabri sporchi senza candele, water incrostato, pochissima luce, etc). Cena pessima e con poco cibo (e parlo della cena della vigilia e di Natale). Intorno al falò nessuna sedia per guardare il cielo, area relax non all’altezza delle aspettative. L’unica cosa che ha salvato il soggiorno sono stati i Safari nel parco che è meraviglioso. Siamo stati fortunati e abbiamo visto un orso e due Leopardi. Inoltre segnalo che se scegliete la formula HB (colazione + cena) vi verrà dato un menu ridotto: niente antipasto per la cena e niente caffè nel morning safari. Follia!

Excellent choice, we’re really pleased we stayed here.

The camp exceeded our expectations, huge tent with hot water in en-suite. Lovely 4 course meal. Definitely a luxury experience and one to remember for all the right reasons. There is always the worry that safari trips will be too intrusive to the animals and nature but this was not! Very well organised and thoughtfully done.

Inmejorable

Excelente ubicación al lado del PN Wilpattu. Personal muy amable, disponible en todo momento. Trato inmejorable. Ofrecen safari organizado con guía. La habitación consiste en una tienda con tres espacios separados: sala de estar, habitación y baño. Muy bonita y confortable con puntos de luz tenue. Imprescindible la cena alrededor de la hoguera. Experiencia mágica con un menú de alta calidad. Somos veganos y nos adaptaron los platos a nuestra preferencia sin ningún inconveniente. Tras la cena, de forma gratuita, realizan una pequeña excursión con guía por los alrededores del hotel donde se pueden observar pequeños animales.

The set-up and the exceptionally friendly staff. They made sure we had everything we need and went out of the way to cater our special requests. Great concept! Special thanks to Chanaka (chef) and Kamal who took care of us like we were family.

Luxury glamping with expert naturalists team

Pictures perfectly represent the experience at Mahoora. Team was fabulous and helpful at all moments. The tent is luxurious and a fabulous experience for our family. We had so much fun on this visit a d highly recommended Eco Team and their great camping facilities and services. Bonfire side dinner was a highlight!

amazing nature

the camp is very close to the wilpattu park, where you can do great safaris. the tents are nice. you can stay in the middle of the amazing nature.

it was a little hard to find something to eat for the kids who don’t eat spicy food. we would have liked to get something to drink during the day, but the staff was hard to find sometimes.

Evening dinner under the stars

Camp has no atmosphere. There were only 3 tents occupied but we were put right near the reception, looking onto the main path. We booked the all inclusive experience as our last treat of our holiday. Safari that was included was a disaster. The " naturalist" hardly spoke to us in 4 hours, whilst the driver drove as fast as possible through the park. It was impossible to see any animals and those we wizzed past eg spotted deer, the naturalist told us we would not stop for as they are " common animals". Tents are hot and not luxurious, you will need the noisy fan on to sleep .so no sounds if the night. When we woke in the morning the camp was deserted and no staff. We eventually found a person cleaning and asked if we could have some coffee..he just shrugged. Later staff arrived but told us we would have to wait until 8 am when we had ordered breakfast to get anything. Gave feedback on all of this directly to Mahoora and they told us they were " investigating" but after 10 days no response. They obviously don't care. Do not waste your money here. Stay elsewhere and hire an independent guide and driver

a real treat staying in glamping tent, good level of privacy between tents

hard for resort to control but very noisy partying could be heard at night which impacted quiet isolated location! apparently festival celebrations from neighbours!

Amazing place. Staff so friendly and accommodating.

Location was great. Peaceful and calming. Dinner was really lovely under the stars by the camp fire. Staff so accommodating and friendly. Couldn’t do enough for us.

Amazing. 100% recommend.

Staff were amazing. Got lost on the way and they immediately responded and came to help. Food was amazing. 4 course dinner by the fire despite arriving 2 hours late. Tent is huge and very comfortable and well equipped. Very knowledgeable about animals. Great value for money - night walk, cooking demo, food, safari all included.

Exceptional Safari experience

The team was great! Our Nature Guide, Priyadarshana, was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions and teach us about all the beautiful creatures we can across on our safari and night walk. Our driver, Dimuthu, also had great knowledge and experience in the park and really wanted the best tour for us. We did half day safari and he managed to track and find sloth bear, leopard, terrapins, eagle, turtles, wild boar, fox and other species of bird which was all backed up with great information from Priyadarshana. Sudann’s service couldn’t have been better and matched that of a 5star hotel in London! Overall, we had a great time and the team really delivered to make it special.

We found a scorpion (apparently not dangerous) in our tent but we found this all part of the experience so not a negative for us.

Absolutely perfect!

Absolutely the best experience we've had in Sri Lanka! Super friendly and professional staff, absolutely amazing and fresh food(even for my sensitive stomach), lovely fresh drinks and cocktails, perfect location surrounded by nature and wildlife, a unique open air restaurant area, dining underneath a breathtaking starry night sky, breakfast and lunch surrounded by wildlife, and a super deluxe and clean safari tent.

Nice stay in an overpriced location.

The campus setting is nice. They make an effort to create a great atmosphere during the dinner with the fire. Really liked to have a Naturalist during the game drives. We were very lucky to see several Leopards and Elephants.

The food is not at the level it should be for the price you pay. Although the setting is nice, you get cheapest wines and the fish and chicken is dry or served cold. The tents are ok, but the sanitary installations are having some troubles. No warm water for the shower. Overall clearly overpriced for what you get.

Superb

It was an experience staying in Mahoora camp. Located near the entrance of Wilpattu park it provides a unique setup. Tent and the rest of the facilities provided are handled with the utmost care, taken into consideration that you live directly in the nature. We have booked all inclusive stay and we enjoyed dinner along with a night walk in the park with our guide Sumith who is very knowledgeable. Also safari was a blast, Sumith and driver were really experienced and we spotted a leopard twice!

You probably see insects inside the tent which is normal considering the location.

Wild Wilpattu

Beautiful location. Friendly team. Very helpful booking with Shivani. Excellent knowledgeable guide Captain Raj. Very friendly local villages we met during our walks. Superb safari! We saw 4 leopards & tons of other amazing animals & nature.

An unforgettable experience with true professionals.

The dedicated and professional staff here went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable experience during a tricky time for all in March brought on by the pandemic. We were treated to fabulous bird-watching, a night drive to spot nocturnal animals, nature walks, wonderful food and an in-depth cooking lesson with explanations of the health-giving properties of the ingredients.

Wild side of Sri lanka in glamping comfort

Meals and camp experience were exceptional. Activities included a morning and afternoon safari drive. We saw a great diversity of wildlife (sloth bear, spotted deer, crocodile, elephant, mongoose, peacock, variety of birds) unfortunately the leopards were shy and we didn't get to see them. I only wish that they would have had a pair of binoculars for people to share. The tented camp is very comfortable with two large room fans to keep the sleeping temperature comfortable. Dinner was served under the stars with a nice camp fire providing excellent atmosphere. Service was outstanding. WIfi was available in the "lounge"

Exceed our expectations- nothing that we didn't like. Wish there were a pair of binoculars available. Would have liked to have had a beer at teatime. But alcoholic beverages were only offered at dinner.
