Room was great and comfortable

View of roof tops from room, not really sea views and didnt like how it wasnt beachfront accommodation. Using the pool felt like on display to other tennants. Whole resort felt like a bit of a rabbit warren, certainly not how it is portrayed by the picitures and other reviews

Great stay no problems, friendly staff n clean facilities.

Continental breakfast was light and all we needed with the option to buy a cooked breakfast if we wished. Location was great, not far from airport.

Very relaxing break in Cook Islands

The resort was effectively on the beach, which made for awesome sunset drinking/dining experiences. The evening menus had a different theme each night, so we didn't feel the need to dine elsewhere. It was peaceful during the day to sunbathe and/or go into the water without crowds, and then nice and lively in the evenings. The Staff were wonderful and engaging, and by the end of the week they felt like family. The Island Bus stops outside, so is very convenient to explore further, although for flexibility a bike, scooter or hire car would be better.

The included breakfast options were OK, but the variety was inconsistent. Muffins (these were great!) appeared only on 2 days; they should be a regular offering. There were paid options, which we didn't purchase, as we did only want a lighter breakfast. Room servicing was arbitrary; On Day 1, we put the "Do Not Disturb" sign up, so didn't want/expect a clean. On Day 2, it was cleaned fine, On Day 3, I put the "Please Clean My Room" sign up, but nothing was done - I did manage to get a new set of towels from Reception. On Day 4, I was asked by one of the staff whether I wanted the room serviced. I said yes, and it was done with fresh sheets and towels, but on Days 5, 6 and 7 nothing.

Exceptional

Staff was so friendly, food yummy,loved watching the beautiful sunsets,best location,loved the island dogs 🐕 and the resorts pet kittens, it made the whole holiday relaxing. We will be back soon

Very little thing but not a problem was tv reception was not the best,never got to use the swimming pool and that it wasnt long enough as we had to head home as holiday had finished.

Exceptional

We had a lovely seaview room that looked out across the top of other resort buildings, out to the ocean. Our room was very clean, very comfortable and all that we needed. It was excellent value for money. We had a couple of meals at the restaurant and particularly loved the Ika Mata. The absolute standout at the Castaway Resort was the staff. Before, during and upon check out they were outstanding and are truly an asset to the resort and as representatives of Rarotonga. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

The room had fan and heatpump It had daily services ..fridge and box with water it was quiet and access to snorkelling equipment Chairs next to beach for those who wanted to sit outside . The dinners were beautiful and staff was amazingly friendly and helpful

There was no activities during the day like other resorts have and the pool is a bit cold as it's in the shade most of the time never saw anyone swim there while I stayed there .

Very good

Whilst a little tired the unit was clean and comfortable, food at the restaurant was lovley and the staff were super friendly Especially Vani and Minnie, what wonderful individuals they are.

Overall ok but needs a spruce up.

Good location and staff are excellent

Bit more rustic / tired than photographs. Probably would have gone elsewhere had I know bathroom was so small. Needs a bit of a spruce up. Plastic on roof outside window not great at night when cats are prowling.

First trip to Raratonga.

Atmosphere was great, Staff amazing. Location was great for everything. Local bus stopped outside good value. Food was amazing at restaurant for dinners. Lots of choice. Paul the owner was great too very friendly.

Continental Breakfast was limited in choice.was Included in price. A bit more choice would have been good. Disappointed that lunch is no longer served. But will be back certain days soon.

Everything! The staff & Paul (Owner) were fantastic, the restaurant has an extensive menu from Japanese to Italian and it's all really good. The resort is setup to have a rustic feel but is well appointed and has Everything you need.

Nice place, lovely staff.

There was a bar and restaurant on site., which had allot of food and drink options. The staff was fabulous and looked after us. Management was great, we had some issues and they sorted right away for us.

Nice room. Every staff member we came across was lovely. Loved all the cats too! Room was very clean, witnessed a cleaner doing the room next door and they are very thorough! Great being right on the beach for chilling out during the day and in the evening for sunset. Peaceful I the day

Breakfast not great for my partner who is a coeliac. Shower tray didn't keep in all the water so bathroom got pretty wet. Bed a bit firm and sunloungers could maybe have some new cushions. All in all we loved our stay so not big issues!

Best holiday we’ve had.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was great and we enjoyed many meals and cocktails in the bar. The food was well prepared, and we recommended the seafood platter. Staff are friendly and helpful. They let us stay late on our last day due to a late flight.

Superb

Superb location right on the beach and the use of Wilson's Bar next was excellent. 10/10 for Rosalea and Mene who were so hospitable providing wonderful service to us always with a smile.

Place dies need a little bit of work, but overall we were very pleased with our stay and are rebooking again for next year.

A home away from home - we would stay again!

Exceptional staff - made us feel welcome in their resort. we made a lot of friends with the waitstaff at the restaurant while there. The pool was great! our room was perfect for 5 people.

Outdated, accommodations close to each other, no free WiFi (at least not in our room), sea view was very limited, not close to supermarkets, limited equipped kitchenette. Photo's on booking.com did not represent the current conditions.

New Year's Eve arrival 2022

The staff were amazing and we were extremely well looked after. If it was raining heavily when we dined out on the beach, staff would direct us to another table that they had reserved for us under cover. Every meal that we ate at their Wilson's Restaurant was full of delicious flavours. Rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday and all linen was replaced. The swimming pool was sheltered in the afternoon which was great to swim in when the sun became too hot on the beach. ATM's were within walking distance and there was an awesome café that served delicious coffee and homemade baking. I also had the best massage ever just up from the café in a little business where hairdressing and other services were available.

Not having a view from the wee covered patio at the back of the villa. It was very private however, the toilets for the public to use were attached to the outside fence and you could constantly hear people going in and out if you were chilling out on the patio. If you're planning a holiday, you need to hire transport to get you to the busier side of the island.

Lovely, relaxed and welcoming spot.

As only 20 odd rooms, felt intimate and friendly, not just a big number. rooms were nice and tidy, food was good value and staff were exceptional.

It would have been great to have known in advance that the kitchen was only limited hours - ie only breakfast and at dinner. while there were kitchen facilities the closest supermarket was a 16 min bus ride away. also no Orion to get drinking water unless the kitchen or bar were open.
