To be able to have an Ocean front room , was a plus . To enjoy the sounds of the waves. To be able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the am and Wine in the sunset .
To be able to bring our dog and take her for nice walks at the beach . Very nice and peaceful sanctuary . This is one of our favorite spot in Cali.
A Big group of guests had loud music and took over the whole Play court . We could not even enjoyed that area during the couple of days .
Some dog owners will not pick up after their dogs or keep dogs on leashes .
The location needs a special green area for potty breaks . Not all over the sand .

The place is amazing with great location just by the ocean, very quite
It has fire pits on the beach that you can enjoy after dusk.
It was a little windy and felt a little colder than in Monterey, so bring some warm clothes.
There is no secured wi-fi network, so if you are planning to work with that amazing ocean view - forget about it!

The property was beautifully situated right on the beach with stunning views of the bay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and special. The restaurant on site was delicious and accommodating. Would recommend highly to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. This is a special place that we will for sure come back to as soon as we can!

Location was beautiful and staff friendly.
Rooms look a bit tired, breakfast can only be had in room but you are still charged a room delivery fee even though you have no choice. Generally the experience doesn't match the high price.

We used to love this place. The location is great. Its right on the beach. And the breakfast is good. David and the staff are great and are doing everything they can with what they have to work with . Thank you to all of them .
It seems like they haven't been keeping up the property as nice as it used to be. It needs freshen up for sure. The rooms need to be updated big time for the price they charge now. We really used to love this place but we prolly won't be back for awhile if at all.

Beds are terrible. Mattress must be very old as it's collapsed.
King deluxe room is small - no bedside tables and nowhere to pack clothes.

Great location right on the beach. Amazing to see flocks of pelicans flying past and Turkey Vultures cruising along. Well appointed room. Very comfortable. Enjoyed the in-room dinner service which was efficiently delivered.

The Sanctuary Beach Resort is a spectacular hotel with a beautiful view of the ocean. I loved how our room had a direct view of the ocean and the sliding panel doors allowed us the option to let the sea breeze in and listen to the ocean waves or seal it off completely. The location of the resort was quiet and peaceful. We had direct access to the private beach and bonfires. They also provide activities such as a guided walking tour, yoga, and free bike rentals. The room itself was quite simple and nothing extraordinary. There was a beach blanket provided which was very nice to have and bring out to the beach. I did enjoy the complimentary bath supplies sponsored by L'Occitane. One of the days we ordered room service for breakfast. It was cute to see a picnic basket right at our doorstep once we woke up. The staff were very friendly. I especially love the assistance provided by the Indian man at the front desk. I apologize I have forgotten his name but I would like to give him the credit for making our stay pleasurable. He always has a smile on his face and not only answered our questions but provided more advice and information as well.
To get around Sanctuary Beach Resort, you would have to call the front desk and ask for ride on the golf carts. Unfortunately, there was a time when no one showed up after waiting over 20 minutes so we ended up walking down to our car. The TV uses Chromecast and did not work for us at all. The cable channels were alright but it would have been nice to stream something on Netflix or Youtube. For the price you pay, I wish breakfast was included at least.

we had a wonderful stay! service was top notch & the grounds were so well kept. we enjoyed the nightly beach bonfires & the hot tub/pool area was exceptional. the breakfast basket deliveries were so convenient & delicious. the rooms were clean & well kept, but the bathrooms were dated. nothing beats the location & the beautiful ocean & nature just outside our door. we enjoyed daily whale watching from our room & the beach outside! we had a lovely time.
we went to the Salt Wood restaurant on a Tuesday night & found the food & service a bit mediocre for the amount of money we paid.

Wished that the room be vacuumed and tidied each day given the sand around the property.
There were ants in the sink/kitchen area.

The beach views were amazing and the staff phenomenal. It was also fabulous to have the staff pick you up in a golf cart to take you anywhere on the property. Also loved how sweet and welcoming they were to our little dog traveling with us. They even added his name to the welcome sign in the lobby and we were able to eat outside at the restaurant on property w/our dog.
Bed mattress was just too hard for my liking but I rarely find a hotel bed that's comfortable. The linens and pillows were lovely though.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The evening fire pits are really nice. The little backporch deck and chairs definitely make the room.
For the price the room it was very small. The online pictures are a bit deceiving. The room is outdated. Tub is really shallow, not good for an adult.
