Breakfast was great lots of choice.
The staff tended to get the orders wrong

Sehr nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal.

Super nice rooms, pool is very cool and the food was delicious.
Aircon is a bit loud and old. If you don’t like the thick pillows just ask at the reception for other options.

Los detalles del hotel para hacer la estancia más cómoda y acogedora. Teníamos fruta fresca en la habitación y por la tarde nos llevaban unos dulces deliciosos. La bañera en el balcón estaba de lujo. El personal muy amable y eficiente.
No tengo ninguna queja

Gorgeous resort on a beautiful little beach. Perfect for our family of five! The food was 10/10 (they have two restaurants) and they had a gorgeous little kids club and kids pool that we set up at each day. Our kids are 5,3 and 0 and just LOVED the kids club. The tiny frogs provided for hours of extra entertainment!
I loved it all, but if I had to say something… the resort is built on a hill with rock paths from the top down to the beach/pool/kids club and restaurant. Our room was up the top so the hike got a little tiresome with 3 little ones in tow. Definitely not pram friendly.

We had our own family villa so was nice and private. Lovely views.
A variety of delicious food choices even though only two restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Beach sand is ok and sea not great for swimming due to, too many cuts on the feet - definitely need beach shoes :)

Great staff - Serenity Pool - Private beach - comfort of the room (had a private pool villa) - Spa & facilities
Quality of the food - good choice but execution and quality of ingredients are lacking - Breakfast buffet is ok

Very relaxing and pacific place to be. Harmony is everywhere. Beautiful!!!
It was our 6th time at Melati. As always great to be!
You feel like you are somewhere out of this world..
Hotel has his own amazing sanctuary where you can completely relax and enjoy.

The pool / bar / beach areas was lovely. The restaurant and bar staff were amazing. The massage offering by the pool was great and they had free hire of paddle boards, kayaks, snorkelling gears etc.
For a 5* hotel it was disappointing. The majority of the facilities were dated and needed updating. The plugs in our room didn’t work, and the sofa by the private pool was frayed, which could be easily replaced. If I was looking to stay at a 5* hotel in Samui I wouldn’t stay here again.

Great location, perfect setting to get away from it all. Nice relaxed vibe down at the pool and beach bar. The crew there are fantastic and really look after you. I'd definitely come and stay here again.
Only issues were with the room.
Aircon seems to struggle a bit at lower temp settings (23-25 degrees) so it was quite noisy. Seemed fine at 27 degrees though.
There was a smell from the toilet on a couple of days.
At this price range, you can reasonably expect better.

Our stay at Melati was wonderful. It really is an all inclusive resort - there is no need to even leave it, and if there is, the amazing staff are able to organise tours for you as well. We loved the beautiful beachside pool bar which perfect to relax at! The spa was also heavenly.

The Deluxe room was beautiful, the resort is so peaceful and so easy to spend the day relaxing at one of the pools. All staff were very attentive and really went the extra mile for service. Will definitely come again
Everything was great

The view as you walk to the View Restaurant for breakfast is absolutely stunning, it’s been my screensaver for years, you never get sick of the breathtaking beauty
The pillows were hard, another traveller also mentioned this to me - so wasn’t just ours

Beautiful infinity view over the swimming pool onto the sea. Superb restaurant food with wide menu selection. Very large room with large bed, his and her sinks, shower and bath. felt very safe, staff very helpful and friendly. Quiet relaxing location on the beach.
Needed a taxi to go anywhere else on island (could be considered a good point from relaxation point of view).

- Beautifully decorated, also the gardens
- Pool was nice as well. It has its own sand beach - Attention to details within the rooms, you find pretty much everything you might need inside.
- WiFi was good, but it was annoying having to insert the password every single time you wanted to use the internet after having left the room
- the is hotel is 20 mins away from Chaweng downtown or from some other beaches, so you have to pay taxis at least twice a day for going to those places if you want a quiet ride

Getting away from the hotel in a taxi was easy
Looks nothing like the pictures. This stay almost ruined our entire vacation. Had to leave early. Manager kept spam calling us to remove review.
Extremely dirty. Grease and bugs splattered up the walls. Every flat surface in the room was extremely dirty. The floor in the garden was so dirty you could see your footprints when going inside the room. Air conditioner leaking water on the floor. Shower riddled with mold. Coffee machine filled with coffee grounds from previous guests. Our sink was clogged, and occassionally smelled like a sewage. Building debris scattered all over our garden. Around every door handle was smeared with black dried liquid dirt. The foliage on the windows both inside and in the shower has started to peel off. Our white towels had yellow stains from previous guests. The TV had an entire horizontal row of pixels missing. Our fridge had a few items that wasn’t even on the price list - I wonder if it’s stuff left there from previous guests.
The service was absolutely non-existent. Our dishes from room service were left in our room to rot for 16 hours. Even 2 hours after calling the front desk to tell them to come and clean it up, nobody came. It wasn’t until I personally walked 3 minutes up to the reception and started complaining that someone came and removed it. There was no housekeeping before bedtime and no housekeeping during breakfast. We asked for two separate bedsheets. They arrive without being properly sheeted. The quilt was just laying inside the bedsheets and they didn’t even bother to tie them.
The dinner and lunch was the worst we had on the entire vacation, but was also very expensive. The breakfast was nothing special. Felt very cheap. We never received the eggs we ordered. Ordered a Cappuccino, received what tasted like a quadruple espresso from inferior coffee beans with a bunch of milk foam on top. Don’t expect a nice cup of coffee in the morning.

Nice hotel complex with a beautiful garden area and a restaurant directly at the beach. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony with a bathtub. Thongson beach is beautiful and good for swimming.
What really needs to be improved are the sockets in the rooms — they did not work properly. Besides, you just have to know that Melati is a big resort without a personal guesthouse atmosphere and located quite remotely.

The resort is fantastic and the staff are super and so friendly. Best, SOM and Tup ar the beach bar are very lovely and friendly. A real asset to the resort.

the general layout of the resort
the pool in the villa was unfortunately dirty and therefore did not feel like using it. the entrance was wet and had to be cleaned the bathroom definitely needs a renovation. and to call it a pool villa when you have accommodation above you it’s a bit far fetched

This was our 6th visit to This resort, little gem hidden away from the busy markets and nightlife of other areas. Staff are friendly and accommodating, amazing spa and restaurants.we had a pool villa that was super nice, the property is extremely well Maintained and would highly recommend this resort for a 4/5 night stay for couple or families!
The weather!

facilities are ok
way way overpriced the beach is full of trash everywhere and the staff is trying to charge you all the time for everything

- Gorgeous resort, very well maintained and looked after
- The buffet breakfast variety is awesome. All of the food at the restaurant was excellent, couldn’t fault it. I do suggest paying for breakfast in advance as it is expensive to add on later
- The size of the bed was massive
- The wait staff made such an effort to make sure they were always smiling, remembering your names and being accomodating.
- Upon arrival we had arranged transfers from the airport and notified the resort of the flight time change being earlier and they confirmed someone would be there. They however must’ve forgotten to communicate with the driver as we had no transfer to the resort and we ended up catching a taxi.
- On the second day the hot water stopped working in our room. Really inconvenient considering how much we paid for accomodation and no compensation was given.
- Taxis out of the resort were very expensive. When out and about you could arrange a taxi for half the price.

The price was decent, and many members of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the gentleman who dropped our bags to the room and drove the 4pm shuttle and pool waitstaff. The property has some gems - including the sanctuary pool, which was a nice length and depth for swimming, and surrounded by beautiful architecture. It was also quiet and seldom had kids. The main pool was also nice (and better maintained), but very cold when we went. It was also busier and had more kids.
If you’re looking for a budget resort option in a relatively accessible (by taxi) area, and don’t place a premium on exceptional facilities, food, or service this could be a good option.
We traveled to SE Asia for our honeymoon (Koh Samui and then Bali) and originally thought Melati was a well-priced 5-star hotel. In hindsight, we would have paid more for a better resort. Upon arrival, our room smelled musty/moldy as though wet rags / damp linen had been left there. We asked to change our room, and the staff offered to spray an air freshener instead. That was not an appropriate solution for us, which we shared over the phone, but the receptionist just replied “okay thank you, bye” and abruptly hung up. When housekeeping came with an air freshener, we walked to the front desk and requested to change our room. The room we switched to was better - it didn’t have the musty smell, but the air conditioner was dripping and the bathroom sink was clogged. We didn’t complain about the air conditioner, but did call about the bathroom sink. The housekeeping staff tried to clear the drain with a plunger, but we ended up removing the sink stopper, which helped but also didn’t eliminate the issue. I wanted to have a bath in the outside patio bathtub. The bathtub had scum, so I used one of the washcloths to clean it, only to realize that there was no open drain in the tub. The dirty water sat in the tub without draining out. Since I couldn’t find a way to clear the water, I skipped the bath.
The breakfast buffet was okay. Many options, but mediocre quality. There were 2-3 Thai food options, and mostly non-Asian continental options. On the days I opted to have breakfast, I ate fruit with fried eggs and chicken sausages for protein. My husband didn’t love the options, but found a couple things he liked. We asked about breakfast room service and were told we would need to pay extra.
Room service did not clean our room, so we called to request cleaning on Day 3.
Overall, the facilities, food, and experience was below expectation. We would not recommend for a 5-star honeymoon experience and would not return.
