the staff were incredibly helpful and the facilities are also very very good

chale island is a lovely relaxing island around half an hour drive from diani beach. It has a lovely chilled out beach and service from staff is quick. Our ocean suite was beautiful and newly decorated. We had a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. The room was immaculately clean. Breakfast was good and there was a good, healthy buffet to choose from as well as a cooked breakfast. We didn’t really have lunch but dinner was good, sometimes a little hit and miss with seasoning and flavour, however a good variety. Sunset drinks were lovely.

I think watersports such as SUP or kayaking could be complimentary like sands at nomad.

the location and privacy

Amazing views and very efficient and friendly staff.

We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the deck while enjoying cocktails every evening. We loved staying in the Bandas, they were so spacious and modern. All the staff were very nice and friendly.

The standard rooms look so bad and they need a renovation. We also didn’t like that power supply was only available in the evening.

The hotel layout is lovely, the pools were beautifully designed, the spa is gorgeous and the staff was attentive and friendly. Andrea, the general manager, is present without being overbearing.

This hotel is very divided: it showcases a beautiful, exclusive private island setting with little individual bungalows, and two horrid buildings with many rooms, club med-like activities at fixed hours and a real lack of interesting propositions for catered activities. If you arrive at low tide, you will be driven to the hotel on a tractor, a lot less glamourous than the boat arrival advertised. The hotel seems to want to attract a comfortable, stylish clientele that would pay dearly for catered options, but instead appeals to a cheaper crowd that wants nothing more than to bake in the sun from 10 to 4 in a pretty setting and is happy to huddle for the same activities with the rest of the clients in the evening. On a more practical note, there are far too few outlets in the hotel, if electricity is not available all day (which is not advertised), all restaurants and sitting areas should all have outlets. At this price point, every room should have an individual water tank to provide soft water for showering instead of only 2 bottles a day. A better and more efficient way of transferring the bills from the restaurants to the reception is necessary. Overall, the hotel is very pretty, but we did not book it to go a club med, and that is unfortunately what we got.
