Unique Mui Ne review by Serena

The housekeeping, pool staff, and some of the front desk staff were extremely warm , approachable, and accommodating. Their friendly nature was inviting and brought many smiles. The room was comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed our balcony, too. The location was central and convenient. It was an enjoyable and relaxing time indeed.

We arrived by bus quite late, it was a 1am check-in. It wasn't the most smooth and welcoming experience. Initially, when I made the reservation on booking.com, they required my debit card number to confirm the reservation. This was confusing as I was under the impression that we had paid, and the confirmation email said the amount can not be refunded. The front desk then said we could go to our rooms and sort it in the morning but needed to keep one of our passports. As foreigners in Vietnam, the gravity of the risk of losing our passports is not understood. We did not feel understood. When we refused, we were asked to make a cash deposit. The next day, it was sorted, to our newfound knowledge, the debit card number had to be given as a guarantee, but no transaction had been made. After we paid in full, upfront, for the entire duration of our stay, the front desk did not return our deposit until the end. Our first day was not pleasant. On the second night, we had dinner at the resort, and my vegetarian friend ordered a vegetable stir fry, which had chunks of chicken. When we enquired to use the facilities advertised such as the gym and spa, we were told that it was not in use since covid. This blindsided us, as it influenced our booking initially. 90% of the time, until the last day, the front desk made us feel like we were burdening them and looked flustered. As a result of the spa being closed, we got our massages in our room. They only came in with a bottle of coconut oil. They used our towels from the bathroom to cover our beds, our feet weren't rinsed or washed, and with the same hands, our face and head were massaged. It was a very oily and sandy situation.

The location in relation to the beach and local facilities was outstanding. A short step to the beach and adjacent to the main strip. The beach facing pool and the view from the rooftop terrace were also excellent. The staff were all polite and helpful and the food available was tasty and fresh. Our room on the third floor had a great view of the ocean and a spacious balcony.

Some of the facilities were a little tired and in need of cleaning or repair....this was particularly noticeable outside in the beach/pool area. Also, there was a lack of detailed information about the food, drinks, etc., on offer and when the bar and restaurant facilities were open.

The room and some of the foods for breakfast were fresh, staffs were friendly.

Fruits were film wrap, for our 1st breakfast as there were only 10 guests, should install cold top or at least place fruits on ice. The cover of shafting dishes wasn't safe as it didn't stay open, one's need to hold onto it. Foods were okay for local resort, could have been better. The white towels in room were rough, replace with new one (post covid, opening) Inside the Swimming pool has no lights (some spotlights in the area were on though, whether has less guests or...has to on all the lights, not trying to save electric bills, no excuse for post covid or less guests), The small pool, maybe is the jacuzzi is not working (the buttons inside pools must have broken down !!!) Resort is already more than 10 years, it looks clean though, cleaning up, store all unpleasant stuffs, redo landscaping, replacing eco-friendly materials externally as the rates doesn't justify for the overall experience.

Wouldn't choose this place again

Gym had nothing but spoilt equipment and lousy flooring, could not even be used. Air conditioning will automatically shut off when turned up or down by just 1 degree celsius, and there was no remote control for it. Breakfast was bad, rice was hard to chew and food is not heated for those who come slightly later. Noodles were soggy too and drinks were extremely sweet.

Superb

The room was large, as was the bathroom! It has a balcony view of the beach. Staff were friendly and accommodating and spoke pretty good English! I'm vegan and the kitchen made me two dishes of noodles for breakfast 🥺. Even the buffet breakfast had a wide variety which was nice. The pool was lovely and right on the beach. No pool bar working though.good location (short tuk tiki or scooter away from the restaurants).

Overall a pleasant experience. Pool by the beach is great.

Rooms are spacious, comfy and clean. Had the "seaview" room which had a nice balcony and view. Breakfast was simple but enough on weekdays, but was a great buffet selection on weekends. Staff are kind and helpful, though there are some language barriers (same with rest of Vietnam). The pool is possibly the best feature, right by the beach with plenty of private sunbeds. Located on the quieter side of town, though it could be because Mui Ne is still recovering from the pandemic, but there are enough options for (delicious) food and fruit juices within walking distance.

If I had to nitpick, it took a long time for the AC to cool the room, and didn't have the option of having a spare card to keep the power running, unless we untied the key from the card.

Perhaps due to the temporary closure due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the rooms and equipment are degraded, hopefully the resort will renew in the near future!

Location is a bit remote but relaxing and green. Lovely staff and they helped us to organize a tour to the floating market. Unfortunately the market is not in use anymore.

The hotel did not inform us before that the pool is out of use.

The view is amazing, I love how comfortable the bed is too! there are all needed thing in the resort, you even dont need to go out, the service is really good. I love the pool party and kite surfing service there
