Villa Borobudur - ethnic heaven

The hospitality was top notch, the views were breathtaking, the room was very comfortable, and the swimming pool was a delight. The food was not varied - mostly indonesian cuisine. A lovely stay overall.

The uniqueness of the hotel and its unmatched scenery. It's unbelievably beautiful both the architecture and natural beauty

Lol,can make the room brighter with additional standing lamps. It's a bit challenging for elderly couples to see properly. Or Installed some removable magnetic mosquito nettings on the windows so that we can constantly open the windows to enjoy the fresh air and lights

Beautiful location and views Food was very good and reasonably priced Room carvings were beautiful Staff were very nice and attentive Pool was lovely Location to Borobodour Temple Complimentary shuttle to and from resort was great

Access Road to resort was very steep and pretty scary driving up to. Room roof is in need of repair and had signs of mould due to water. Strong smell from large moth balls throughout the room.

this is a very special place to stay.

the location was tucked away in beautiful grounds with incredible views to volcanos and Borobudur. it was a very peaceful setting and a small resort. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The Javanese furniture was stunning and loved the artwork. our villa had its own pool with amazing views out. it felt very private but we could call staff whenever we needed something. afternoon tea was such a treat. the food was very good and prices reasonable

authentic luxury in the jungle

super nice, everyone had their own villa nestled in nature, amazing view and open living. much more authentic experience than aman and such a better value.

food is good but it’s better at thé Aman (and much more expensive), but it’s only ten minutes away so you can eat there sometimes!

Very enjoyable stay, thanks to the wonderful staff

Great views and excellent service. The staff was very obliging and the transfer to and from the temple was complimentary. So was afternoon tea on the first day. The villa was beautifully appointed. Food was wonderful. Would suggest ordering your meal with plenty of notice and stipulating a time to be served.

Noise from the village was pretty much continuous from morning till evening. There was no need for alarm as the morning call to prayer would guarantee to wake you around 4am. I appreciate there is not much the management can do about these.

Friendly smiles from the local people. Attentive staff with good service makes you feel warm. Traditional and characteristic hotel architecture. The most amazing is the stunning view outside the window. It is a wonderful and spiritual place you must stay in Borobudur.

Except the shower system is not hot enough, the rest are unforgettable memories.

Fantastic experience for our family.

Amazing design of the hotel and is truly one of its kind experience. Everything has been designed with detail.in mind. Beautiful view and the hotel itself is a view to behold. Rooms are fascinating and very comfortable.

The hotel is a bit far from airport but it is a decision which you take when booking. It's worth the trip though. It could have been a bit more clean however, given how massive the property is, maintenance is always going to be challenging for hotel staff.

This is by far one of the most special places I’ve ever been to.

What a charming place, words are not enough to express how magnificent the view is and how special each villa is. A special note to congratulate the staff, kindness and customer orientation is a rule at VBR.

Nothing negative to mention, the whole experience was amazing.

The view from the property is beautiful and it was a great place to soak in the atmosphere and feel at peace. The staff are very helpful and the food was delicious.

Astonishing and unforgettable

We were the only guests in this resort. Property is difficult to be reached by your own car - you will be picked up from security point and dropped off by resort 4x4 car (due to the tremendous slope). View from the Resort is astonishing. We were upgraded to Siddharta Deluxe Suite - amazing local style house. Staff is very professional and friendly, tasty and beautiful served breakfast. it was really unforgettable stay.
